ouch SPB - still waiting to hear about the futon? Am horribly nosey curious!

{{{{Hugs}}}} for Dippy

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2008 16:17

Oh yes, I broke our last bed while jumping on it doing some impression of an animal (can't remember which) to make T laugh. It worked but there was a horrible cracking noise!
Anyway, it lasted us, but then when we moved house it didn't seem sensible to move it so we have been sleeping on our futon ever since. Bedroom almost decorated, new carpet hopefully coming next week, once that's confirmed we are going to order a new bed! Just getting a fairly cheap one for now as we can't really afford any more. Once we have more money we'll get a huge king size one and new furniture to match. Then this one will be a spare bed, killing 2 birds with one stone
Bet you wish you hadn't asked now!

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 16:23

No I'm pleased to get the full story Couldn't understand why you'd all be on a futon on a regular basis from choice but then I thought perhaps I was laying (geddit) to much importance on that issue

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2008 16:28

I think some people do - it's meant to be very good for your back. When we went bed shopping they were all far too soft Also, after sleeping on T's floor after he had bad nights last week, the futon felt like lying on a cloud It's all relative!

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 16:31

When you get your new bed you won't want to get out of it! I have that problem....it's just too cosy!

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 16:44

{waves to lurking Dippy}

CaptainDippy · 06/03/2008 16:48

You couldn't help me get my double mattress out of the loft, could you!!? It's stuck!

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 16:54

which side are you on?

Just don't stamp on it! You will fall through the hatch hole!

CaptainDippy · 06/03/2008 17:07

In the end I just climbed all the way up into the loft and dropped them down through the hole - don't know why I didn't just do that in the 1st place!!!? Right, off to get little terrors lovelies

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 17:09

No I don't know why either

Dd1 home from school - her whale was a huge success - fact he made quite a splash (boom, boom) Dd2 seems ok now so fingers crossed!

Idreamofchocolate · 06/03/2008 17:29

Hello again. Have spent a pleasant afternoon watching stuff on BBC iplayer in bed - how fab is that? Watched Dawn Gets a Baby...made me really cry at the end when the baby was born...lovely as a could just imagine all the emotions the new mum would have been feeling at the time. My bf is due in 3 weeks time and I'm really really hoping she lets me be there (she wants me there but her dh doesn't - spoil sport).

Still feel like crap - am supposed to be going out with my NCT girls tonight, haven't seen them for ages and I really wanted to go. Not sure if I should just pop along for a little while, or whether that might just make me vom. Really farking annoying timing.

Pesha - hoping for good news......

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 17:33

can you keep anything down? If so - I would go.

Idreamofchocolate · 06/03/2008 17:37

Have eaten a small tin Heinz spagetti today (all I've fancied), and that's still down. Maybe I should just go and nibble on some bread. And then fall asleep under the table .

NorthernLurker · 06/03/2008 17:38

toast is good - pr dry biscuits - dd2 has kept down biscuits, plain crisps and a ham sandwich so I'm cautiously optimistic. Toast and an apple for her for tea.

Idreamofchocolate · 06/03/2008 17:42

Not sure if the restaurant serves toast. Bugger these stupid illnesses.

Better head downstairs and be sociable to my family otherwise dh will be really grumpy if I do go out x
