SPB - B often tries to wave her legs in the air whilst I'm feeding her - she only has the freedom to do that because I use a pillow to feed her. It's very cute though.

Oooggs - poor ds - so brave, so unfortunate!

Dippy - my dh has been cooing over the kids since he got in - I think there must be a slightly mad look in my eyes though - because he got B ready for bed without any nagging prompting. He is always very happy to do the hands on stuff - but he's also liable to get distracted and/or I just charge on to my own timetable.

elkiedee · 07/03/2008 20:49

We had another rough night - essentially this morning began about 4.30 am! D has another bad cough.

One of the things I like about my childminder and which, thinking about it, is better than the other one I went to see, is that she's not alone all day. Her oldest daughter is grown up and is approved as her assistant. Although I think she's not there all the time, she goes to college part time etc. And apparently her son, I think the youngest who's 6, likes coming home from school to play with him!

I probably will look again at sending D to nursery maybe when he's 2 or older, so long as all goes well at his CM, but we'll see what happens. I think I went to quite a variety of childcare but my brother and sister had a CM (the same one) until they started school - there's a 3 year gap between them so they would only have been there together briefly.

NorthernLurker · 07/03/2008 20:52

Oh Elkie - that is grim re the early start! How did you manage work after that? Your childminder sounds lovely - great you've got someone you're really happy with.

Sexonlegs · 07/03/2008 21:08

Evening lovelies

Oooggs, your poor lad! What a shame
Hope he is ok.

Hi NL. Sorry to hear about the a/b nappies! Hope B is restored to good health soon.

Dippy good to hear your dh is back. Where are you off tonight then?

Hi Dooby. You are around lots again which is lovely

SPB, glad you have reverted to your proper name! I am too old for change !

Elkie, I do not know how you cope Hope you can get a break smehow over the weekend.

How is everyone else this fine evening?

All ok here. Dh got home a bit earlier than normal which was a pleasant surprise.
B has completey recovered from her high temp and achy limbs thankfully, and has been on good form. K is on top form too (although as I typed that she was coughing), and so speedy now with her crawling. She is also trying to pull up on everything. She pulled up against the bath this evening and was delighted with herself

elkiedee · 07/03/2008 21:09

Oddly work seemed less hard to stay awake for today, although there wasn't enough to do. Wednesday was the hardest.

My colleague was telling me I should get on and have another baby today, apparently there's no one pregnant around at the moment.

DloeufyDoo · 07/03/2008 21:11

Elkie you must be knackeredOOOGS your poor ds.Poor little thing.Hope he's ok soon.
Hi sol...have decided to try and prioritiseBut think it will fluctuate.

StealthPolarBear · 07/03/2008 21:14

elkie that is a ridiculously early start. The sooner D learns to tell the time the better

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/03/2008 21:31

no-one else around??

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/03/2008 21:32

oooggs, I keep meaning to ask, how is J's walking going? (that's your little J, not big J!) Has E noticed and started to copy yet?

OP posts:
PillockOfTheCommunity · 07/03/2008 21:47

I'm here
sofa-boy is too though so I really should be sociable!

J was sick again tonight

StealthPolarBear · 07/03/2008 22:04

Oh dear Pillock, how long has this been going on now (the vomiting I mean)? Do you think he has a bug?

OP posts:
elkiedee · 07/03/2008 22:53

There was something on the radio about the clocks going forward and "losing an hour" and I said oh, it's easter weekend anyway. But then I thought, maybe D will wake up at 6-7 instead of 5-6 (she says hopefully).

Poor baby's waking himself coughing, he's just returned in the buggy from a walk (with dp)

gap of some minutes

buggy ride actually did help soothe him and I'm sure he WANTS to go back to sleep he just keeps waking with the coughing. Poor darling.

elkiedee · 07/03/2008 22:54

POTC, sorry about J's vomiting.

elkiedee · 08/03/2008 07:33

Last post at night and first in the morning? Where is everyone?

D woke up early in the night but actually did better than I expected, slept until after 6 am - shame I couldn't. Am worried about his cough though he seems chirpy and playful this morning.

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 08:10

Morning elkie!
Is his cough really bothering him?
Not a particularly good night, although it didn't help that we went to bed at midnight - picked DH up from station after a work do.

Maveta · 08/03/2008 08:28

Morning, a quick post while my boys are in bed catching up on some zzzzzzzs.. not had a chance to catch up but will go try now..

Last two nights have been un.bear.able. Bed at 7pm and then waking at 10pm and not able to get him down again til past 1am, in between lots of crying and whining and clinginess. Then after an hour or two into bed with us and restless again until about 6am when PING! Awake. At 8.30am he went back down, of course he's knackered. We're at a loss, I really don't know how to deal with this. nothing in particular seems to be bothering him but if we leave him to cry he just doesn't stop and gets more and more hysterical.

sorry to come on and moan, will see if I can find out what the rest of you have been up to..

Maveta · 08/03/2008 08:33

no, sorry, I'm too tired to take any of it in, I was reading and then realised none of it was going in. Sorry for being rubbish, wish I could be on more but life seems to be getting in the way on my MN addiction atm. x

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 08:50

oh maveta I really sympathise. Wish I could suggest something but I know you'll have thought of it already

OP posts:
Maveta · 08/03/2008 09:08

thanks spb.. you know the crying I can deal with to an extent but it's the whining I cannot bear, and he'd settle in our arms but then wake everytime we put him down. Aaaaaaaargh. Should we start just leaving him to cry??? Thing is our flat is small and we can hear him full on if in the sittingroom and our bedrooms are only seperated by a partition wall so it is impossible to ignore him abd try to sleep.

It's only the last two nights so I suspect he's just not 100% but I can't really see what's bothering him. Could be teething but could that cause this intermittant clinginess? When he's been teething before it was a more pained crying iykwim. Advice welcome, even if I have tried it, it makes me feel better to know I'm trying the right things!!!

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 09:47

TBH when we've got to the stage where I CAN'T put him down the only other thing I've thought of is putting him in his car seat - T usually settles in there slightly easier than his cot. I assume you've tried bringing him in with you?
Is there a chance he has a very slight cold? T had one last week, only symptoms were a blocked nose and a slight cough - tried raising cot and Karvol but also got hope from the fact it was for a reason which would end iyswim.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 09:50

Car seat thing never worked BTW but never really gave it a proper go, either semi passed out on the floor and couldn't be bothered or by the time I'd stumbled downstairs in the dark and cleared his snow suit / blanket / toys / family of mice out of it he was awake anyway

My house loooks a bomb's gone off - literally......

I felt really grotty last night, stuffy nose, head ache etc, so I went to bed early, with Molly and Charlie, but left dh, and the eldest 3 and my nephew, who was staying over downstairs.

Got up at about 9 am , with everyone else still asleep to my sister knocking on the door with her new bf, let them in and realised that last nights dinner things are still all over the kitchen I thought I had done them before I went to bed, but must have only meant to do them iykwim

Why is it that I am the only one that notices anything around here?

So now sister has gone, after sitting there watching kids tv while I got 6 children up, washed, dressed and breakfasted.

Better go and tidy up now!

CaptainDippy · 08/03/2008 13:12

@ your sis, Caz - sorto f thing my MIL does - drives me bonkers!!

Hello! Popping in and out again ......

elkiedee · 08/03/2008 14:11

Hi all!

Maveta, sorry I can't be of help, your N seems to be doing what D does only more so. How long did he stay asleep for at 8.30 am?

We went out bargain hunting again, picked up a few things and stopped in a cafe. Now home for a little bit though we'll step out again.

Don't know what's wrong with me right now, I know why I'm tired but I don't know why I feel so miserable.

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 14:13

hi elkie woo hoo someone else around!!
are you miserable or just feeling a bit blah? cant think of a better way to describe it, thats how i am atm.
