just "bookmarking", DH wants the PC.

Good morning - I'll be back later.

LittleMissNorty · 06/03/2008 10:43

Morning all

I shall try and be a bit happier today....although I've been up a lot of the night (not with DD - nightmares )

My garden is currently being obliterated with a digger .....going to have new patio, new fences, new back gate and artificial grass ....my god, the mess!

LittleMissNorty · 06/03/2008 10:46

Didn't know that about eggs....my DD loves dippy eggs....and kiwi

Any other food I should be avoiding?

Well can't join in the Sky debate, we have Sky HD and we wouldn't be without it...how sad are we?

Daisy....hasn't coincided with you using real nappies again has it?

milkyJammy · 06/03/2008 10:49

Garden plans sound exciting Norty! But yes, will be messy in the short term.

I need to pay some tlc to our garden this year. It's all a bit rubbish really. Made the 1st step by buying a pvc backed blanket yesterday so the jamlet can sit on the grass and watch me.

milkyJammy · 06/03/2008 10:50

The jamlet has had eggs too Norty. Scrambled eggs or omelette so far. I'd not heard to avoid them either.

LittleMissNorty · 06/03/2008 11:07

Oh good - not just me then ....doesn't seem to have reacted to anything yet....I give her anything tbh.....like everyone else has said, the more different flavours and textures she has the better. I don't mash any more either, just cut up small.....probably why she likes the jars, not so much hard work

DH and I are very excited about the garden, me because I've got a brand new 4 arm rotary that will be concreted into the patio (as opposed to in muddy grass and held in by a bit of wire atm ) and DH cos he'll never have to cut the grass again.....sad gits aren't we? as well as no fence that needs nailing up every time its windy, no patio that was a foot higher than the rest of the garden (and built over the damp course of the house )....oh the luxuries of having a normal garden

HellHathNoFury · 06/03/2008 11:09

Whhheeeeee morning all!

I am in a GREAT mood as I have the day off tomorrow!
I am going to essex to take my mum out for lunch then it's her surprise party in the evening - how exciting!
I have a dress and everything!

milkyJammy · 06/03/2008 11:14

Hi Fury. What's the dress like then?

HellHathNoFury · 06/03/2008 11:17

Hey LMN DS has eggs all the time, I heard they were ok you just had to watch for a reaction the first time.

Jammy it's just a black and white thing from Next, nothing flashy - I need stuff that comes in larger sizes and luckily Next can accomodate me!

DS had his 8 month check this morning!

foxythesnowman · 06/03/2008 11:20

Ooh, I missed lots of chat last night!

Sputnik - my lo does that! Not helpful at all.

Wow DKMA - fantastic about your work. Great to know you haven't lost your touch. Re. food in pots - my rule is if it tastes like its meant to, then its fine. Its the pots of shite which look/taste like vomit which I object to. If you were tempted to do it yourself, you could always get a slow-cooker (one that browns the meat itself) and put it on before you go to work (you'd have to prep it the night before). Then tasty, homecooked food for baby, you and DH and big housewifery/working mum points. You would offically be Supermum and have to wear your pants over your trousers and a cape every day.

LOL at Holly and her 'Pimpdaddy'.

foxythesnowman · 06/03/2008 11:22

Sorry, I typed that post about 2 hours ago and only just hit post. off to catch up. Again.

Bumper - I love that dress BTW. You'll look great in it.

LittleMissNorty · 06/03/2008 11:25

DD is 9 months and hasn't had a 8 month check ....haven't seen an HV since November.....

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 11:25

I never thought about eggs! she hasn't had a lot of egg up till now as she didn't really seem bothered for it. And as well as the carbonara, we had eggy bread for lunch.

Mind you, it has been around since she was tiny, but started to get worse around 16 weeks, so I'm not sure about the eggs. I thought milk because it's gotten much worse since she has been weaned.

norty, I'm fairly sure it isn't the nappies (or my washing powder), as her bottom is the only bit that is clear. She has really sore bits at the tops of her thighs where the elastic rubs, but she has that with disposables too. Other than that i's on her face, upper torso and shoulders, and I noticed some patches on her legs this morning too. The poor wee mite is miserable.

So, I'll give up dairy and eggs for both of us, then introduce one and then the ither and see what happens! I'm a bit wary of giving up dairy though, especially being pregnant, and with coeliac disease, my calcium absorption is compromised anyway. Looks like I'll be eating lots of leafy green veg!

The garden sounds fab norty. I used to have some artificaial grass on my balcony, it was great when DS was little. Are you going to have another 9 babies so you can have two five aside teams then?

Our new fence is going in this weekend too, although we have hit some obstructions when digging the post holes, including a socking great bit of rock and a mahoosive tree root.

I couldn't find my camera this morning, but I'll get soem photos of him tonight (if there is anything left of the sword by then. I'm very proud of his boots...I printed off some lion rampants which match his shield and stuck them over the action man pictures . And his "chain mail" tunic is one of DHs dark gray marled t-shirts. He looked fab

I'm jealous of all the talk of dresses....I'm perusing farking mothercare and blooming marvellous again as my belt is already loosened a notch

Whats the problem with Kiwi?

Norty - tell me about the artificial grass. I need some.

Sounds like fun Fury!

HellHathNoFury · 06/03/2008 11:30

GP said that DS's teeth are nowhere near coming (he still has none) but he is otherwise happy and healthy and the GP said his balance and co-ordination were excellent (as DS stood up unaided in the middle of the room, his latest trick)

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 11:30

kiwi is a big allergy trigger foxy. Its up there with tomatoes and strawberries and citrus fruits.

bumper has some info I believe

my new look

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 06/03/2008 11:34

Kiwi is a fairly common allergen apparently. I think DD is allergic to it.

Daisy that's rubbish about having to cut all that stuff out. I think it takes about 3 weeks for the proteins in milk to leave your body.

Sorry about your nightmares norty

Fury, glad you are having a good day. Enjoy your party!

A HV i spoke to at the community centre said it was a 9 month check. Either way I've not heard anything either.

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 06/03/2008 11:35

Daisy I am gutted that I didn't take the opprotunity to wear dungers while I was pg, it's the only time you can get away with it!

foxythesnowman · 06/03/2008 11:37

I like those dungarees, with the skinny top on the right Daisy!.

If it makes you feel any better, I am wearing the Primarni jeans which got me through 8 months of PG and a maternity t-shirt.

Oh, and I've just scoffed the second bar of chocolate....

FairyFay · 06/03/2008 11:37

Hello everyone.

Daisy, don't do it! imho, there is no excuse for denim dungarees for anyone over age 5.

My HV called it a 8-10 month check and DS had it just before 9 months.

for babyboo, that sounds miserable for you all. I hope that you get to the botom of it soon.

I have a friend coming to stay for two nights, and my house looks like a bombsite. I told her she'd have to 'take us as she finds us', but she has no DCs and I think she'll be shocked.

FairyFay · 06/03/2008 11:37

Hmm, maybe it's just me with dungaree-prejudice?

foxythesnowman · 06/03/2008 11:38

Oh bugger about the kiwi. I've been getting it in the last 4 organic boxes, so its going to bloody well get eaten.

Actually she seems to be fine with it. And eggs. She'd have to have a pretty severe reaction for me to notice

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 11:39

holly, does DP not get private healthcare with his job? you could be in and getting your tonsils whipped out in no time.

norty, sorry aboout the nightmares . I get loads of them when I'm stressed and worried, and it's not nice.

bumper, if I wore dungarees when pregnant I'd look like a denim football!

hope you have a great day tomorrow fury and that the party goes well. Is your mum completely in the dark about it? That must take some organising. and it sounds like baby fury will be the first walker...clever boy

we get an 8-12 mo check here, so they do it at 12mo. I think that's far too long, so i took DD to the clinic yesterday and asked questions about everything they should be checking (using DSs book as a crib sheet). I also asked for my book start pack as well!
