Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

FunkyGlassSlipper · 12/05/2008 17:58

Jabber - that looks interesting. Is it any good?

I ordered a trampoline for DDs

jabberwocky · 12/05/2008 18:23

I've talked to a couple of women (including my niece) who have it and really like it a lot.

A trampoline - good idea for working off energy!

accessorizequeen · 12/05/2008 19:00

Ooh, I hope ds is walking proper by the time we see you indith, they can have loads of fun! DS2 can't decide if he likes walking best or riding his car.

Whichever is the most foolproof contraception (dp won't have a vasectomy, rats) is for me after I have the twins!

lennied, meant to post before that dp & I found it actually much easier with no.2 relationship wise. We had to work better together so we did and we argue far less, feels more like a partnership than it did pre-kids. We had ended up at relate twice, once when ds1 was only a baby as it was so bad.

LenniEd · 12/05/2008 19:19

Thanks AQ, that's reassuring - things were pretty bad when DD was a tiny baby - around the 6 month mark I remember seriously thinking we would be better off apart but things got much better by the time she was about 9 months and now I feel like we are happier than we were before she arrived. So all good in the end. It didn't help that there were a lot of other stressful things going on in our lives at the time, hopefully we will be better prepared this time if nothing else. Are you feeling any better today?

LenniEd · 12/05/2008 20:23

Quick question ladies... when were you in matty wear with susbsequent pgs? Just wondering if I'll need to root around in my loft/take DH+credit card shopping before my hols or not! Have lost 1/2 stone in the last couple of weeks with all the gardening so think my regular clothes will last longer than they would have done otherwise. I was in mat trousers at 13wks with DD - but I was eating like a pig generously.

solo · 12/05/2008 21:04

Jabber, we dn't have the ring here...shame, it looks good. I just keep hoping that things will improve with the Mirena. It does get you down though and I've really tried to keep my temper from exploding At least I know why now.

Here in the solo household, we now have a swear pot. I have been quite good as it happens. Dp has faired less favourably, especially as he's here for such a short time each week.

Dd is constantly ' oof'ing at anything that looks remotely like a dog...this includes squirrels and pigs! she's so funny.
I'm having trouble with her eating habits atm, as in she isn't really. It bugs me. I like a healthy appetite on my kids. Ds is always hungry, always eating and as thin as a bean pole. Mind you, Dd is gaining weight.

solo · 12/05/2008 21:08

Can't remember LenniEd. Sorry.

accessorizequeen · 12/05/2008 21:23

Good idea, solo DS1 didn't pick up on me until nearly 3 I think, but ds2 may well be a different story.

Lennied, sounds just like us, we moved house when ds1 was 6 months, and dp had major problems at work. I also had pnd bad, I'm amazed we survived! I think I managed with normal tops for quite a long time (still wearing some of them despite massive bump) but into maternity trousers from 12 weeks maybe? I found h&m really good for a couple of things that would fit for the early months & cheap plus I used one of those belly belts (same as indith's rubber band solution really!) until recently. I can send them to you if you think they'd be useful (have the slide & button ones)?

DS2's little face as he walked into nursery this morning, could he grin any wider? (proud mummy emoticon)

Indith · 12/05/2008 21:31

I wasn't in maternity stuff until pretty late on with ds, he came in compact, neat little bump form. No such luck with this one Give me a few more weeks and I'll be in maternity.

Hum, thinking about that I have no summer maternity stuff! That is how late I got away with it last time!

AQ hope so too, they will destroy everything in sight between them Must get onto my mum and sort out when I'm going, my weekends seem to be filling up already between Rainbow sleepovers and cousins wanting to visit! Dp will be having his stag do at some point though so I think I'll be being shoved out of the house for that one, possibly when my folks are away so you'll have to come play with me

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 12/05/2008 21:34

ok, indith they can run round the lawn with nothing on I have had two largely cold weather pregnancies as I didn't show much until 20 weeks with the boys so nothing cool enough! Plus feet have shot up to size 9 argggghhh!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 12/05/2008 22:05

What size are your pregnant ladies? I may have some maternity clothes going. I'm in process of clearing out wardrobe.....Have loads of maternity and nursing bras too but need to check what kind of state they're in. let me know if interested.

LenniEd · 12/05/2008 22:07

The summer when I was pregnant with DD (as were all of you of course! ) was a roasting hot one. I was in summery stretchy tops and skirts most of the time so also only have winter maternity stuff. I only kept a few bits that were particular favourites anyway, since loft space is limited and wore out my trousers (was still wearing them when DD was about 6 months ) so think I'll need new trousers, but hopefully might make it through the summer in skirts and drawstring trousers.

There really should be a proud mummy emoticon AQ - it is needed soooo often lately with all these little toddlers!! Thanks for the offer of the belly belt things... might be taking you up on that, I'll let you know how I get on, fingers crossed I won't get big quick.

Have finished planting our hedge today - DD (bless her) had her spade out of her sand pit 'helping' Daddy to dig the holes

babypowder · 12/05/2008 22:24

I have matty clothes too, if anyone's interested. Lovely frocks (good for work), tops, etc. I did need summer clothes, as I was the size of a house by 12 weeks with DD2

DD2 now shouts 'juice' and makes the baby-sign for drink when she sees me. I came home from Norwich tonight at 8:00 and was greeted with 'juice, juice!' Think I prefer 'mummy', all things considered. I wonder when I'll stop being just a pair of breasts to her. (Probably before I stop being the same to her father, methinks!)

Irritatingly, last night was the first night ever that both DDs slept through the night in their own beds, and I had to get up at 5:20am. Why don't they do that at weekends????

FWIW, apart from the weight gain thing, I adore my Mirena. Of course, I haven't bled at all with it. I'm just enjoying contraception without me becoming a monster.

And I agree with AQ - my relationship with DH is much easier with DD2. It is a partnership, much more than it ever was before, and I feel that he is genuinely supportive and wants to be involved. It was really tough when we had DD1, and I felt exhausted, utterly taken for granted, and very alone for a long time. It's good now, though

LenniEd · 12/05/2008 22:33

BP - do you do baby signing too?

Right, have spent far too long on here today... night all!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/05/2008 08:29

Learn about housework routines :)

solo · 13/05/2008 09:59

I didn't really show with Dd until I was 5 months...I'm sure I was bigger more quickly with Ds, though it was 1998, so hard to recall exactly. I will be putting maternity clothes on e bay soon unless anyone here would like to make an offer? Next, Red Herring, Cocoon, Blooming Marvellous, H&M.
Will be happy to donate my nursing bra's when I've finished with them(ffp).

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/05/2008 10:37

I just took DD2 to Clarks to get her some doodles and they cant give me any. She is only a size 3 1/2 and they dont start until size 4. Teeny tiny. She's been in these shoes about 10 weeks now and still has loads of room. DD1 got through hers about every 6 weeks at this age!

accessorizequeen · 13/05/2008 12:28

I'm a size 16, so I doubt anything on offer will fit me plus expect to be getting even more massive than usual ug.

Scan just now, popped back for some lunch before work again. They're both fine, having a little disco party in there and I was able to really enjoy looking at them at taking it in this time. Sonographer was absolutely wonderful, talked us through everything which was better than any other scan I've had. 20 week scan with ds2 was so awful, I was in tears I was so upset. But this time in tears because I could see my babies moving and their little hearts beating sob.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 13/05/2008 12:38

AQ - so glad the scan went well

I have a long denim maternity skirt which may fit you. I'm a 14 but it was big on me and so I only wore it in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy. And also a geometric print black & white maternity wrap dress which again was 14 but too big for me so it was unworn - still has tags on I think . If you're interested CAT me or send me a message on facebook and I'll send them for the cost of the postage. If you want pics I can try and take some....

Elibean · 13/05/2008 13:20

Waah, can't possibly catch up

AQ, was so lovely reading your scan post I joined you in teary eyes think you made me nostalgic, though am also very glad for you!

BP, I used to sign as part of my work and automatically find myself signing with anyone who doens't have speech (can be very embarrassing when I don't realize I'm doing it, not to mention inappropriate ) including dd2. Most useful sign is 'stop' when she's had enough to eat - if I don't respond food goes flying, but if I notice the hands held up all is well...

My back is in spasm (too much carrying/lifting/swinging around in circles of dd who is STILL not walking) so can't sit at computer for long - hope everyone else, pg and not, is ok, LOs too!

babypowder · 13/05/2008 14:01

AQ, How amazing to see them both bopping away inside you. What a lovely thing to do on a day like today.

castlesintheair · 13/05/2008 14:32

Congrats AQ Any details on the sex?

I gave all my maternity clothes away to charity last week (they were all far too daggy after 3 pgs to give to you lot). Haven't told DH about it and neither has he noticed the large gap in the wardrobes .

Look after your back Elibean!

jabberwocky · 13/05/2008 14:42

AQ, your scan sounds lovely

No maternity clothes left here. They went to charity about 6 months ago. I had gotten several nice things on ebay with ds2 so you might take a look there.

Too bad about the back, eli. Mine was similar last week and it is so awful. Can't sleep or sit comfortably with a spasm

Indith · 13/05/2008 15:27

Congrats on scan

I have just made a Dr appointment for the morning, I know tiredness is normal but this is horrible, I go to bed at 10.30, ds usually sleeps all night yet by the time I get back from creche with him I need a nap, slept for over an hour this morning and could merrily sleep again now. On Sunday I had church parade in the morning then dp picked me up to go to Newcastle for lunch and bras. Could hardly eat lunch was so tired and by the time we had shopped, gone to the Baltic for ds to play etc I was hardly able to walk back to the car, slept all the way home then went straight to bed for a couple of hours.

Needless to say this has not been good for the study.

But I do have bras that fit Same size as pre-preg but these fit properly while pre-preg didn't. Dp says I look like a teenager with boobs that reach "up to here" I think that is a compliment I think they look better anyway

OP posts:
babypowder · 13/05/2008 15:58

Indith, some of us have boobs that reach 'down to there'
