Oooops no room to link to old thread!

Lol at AQ forgetting that she is pg Sure the madness will pass. And don't worry about my chocolate supply, I live round the corner from Tesco

Jabber I think you should pop ds in the post and I'll sned him on holiday with all my clibing friends, they do similarly dangerous stunts on a larger scale. He'd have a ball

Thanks FGS and Eli for the good wishes Its true Eli it does take us longer to get over these things. The worry never ends does it

Glad you´ve got a clean bill of health Eli and sympathy over the big sandwich and trifle combo - Eeek! Feeling a bit bilious myself after just eating a whole bar of Green and Blacks white choc Suppose its a good job I´ve none left now

FunkyGlassSlipper · 07/05/2008 15:45

Eli - Glad it went well

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 07/05/2008 17:50

It's good to know the polyp jumped and wasn't pushed in the end! No more medical intervention sounds good to me!

BebeSpain - glad DS was okay. DD2 had a blocked tear duct for about 4 months but luckily for her it cleared up on it 's own.

FGS - yep, that's sods' law for you. Although I hope dd2 doesn't pick it up while you don't have any moral support.

We discovered a bee hive in a pile of junk the previous owners left. We didn't get as much work done as we'd planned today. Hopefully, pest control can rid us of beehive but not kill bees. (Can that be done? )

accessorizequeen · 07/05/2008 19:08

Awww, brave little bebespain, I can't imagine my ds being in hospital like that. And Eli, glad everything went even better than expected

Indith, well that's good re: m/w appt I didn't get booked in until 17 weeks!!! You must be 9 or something? Tis a pain when maternity too big and everything else too small. Course I am officially in ALL maternity now and I doubt some of it will fit at the end. I feel like I'm about 30 weeks at 19.

Thanks for messages of support re: wedding, we always wanted to, still want to be married but I don't want a rush job after all these years I want something proper in a nice venue so I guess I'll wait a few more years. I so wanted to do it on maternity leave with ds2 as I'd lost loads of weight and looked really relaxed! lapland for family holiday in general on our list, definitely Lennied!

jabberwocky · 07/05/2008 19:45

Goodness, a lot to catch up on!

eli, glad things went well for you (except for the sandwich of course)

FGS, here's hoping you don't have another bad round with cp.

bebe - I know what you mean about worries. The thought of anesthesia always scares me to death!

AQ - I'm sure the wedding will come at just the right time and place but can certainly understand you being a bit disappointed at putting it off again.

Zee - can you get a beekeeper to come and get the bees?

Not much terribly new here. Still stressing about move to the point my right eye is twitching almost constantly. On the bright side ds1 is responding quite well to new diet and supplements and dh seems to be having another good day.

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 07/05/2008 20:02

I checked the yellow pages for beekeepers first and couldn't find anything.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 07/05/2008 20:07

Apparently you need an apiologist

Indith · 07/05/2008 20:12

anything here Lenni? You are that part of the world ish aren't you?

I'll be 8/9 ish at the appointment AQ, they like to book you in then and scan at 10 here, I got into trouble last time for being scanned at 13!

Totally missed the wedding bit last time totally understand wanting to do it, I must have been a right pain in the arse with dp over it I was so desperate for it (but of course wanting him to do the proposing ) I'm surprised he bothered! A tribe of pageboys and ring bearers sounds lovely though and it will really feel like it is sealing your family together when you do it. Just wait til the twins are old enough to stay with the GPs so you can have a mini honeymoon

ZeMNetterWithZeBigBoobies · 07/05/2008 20:21

Thanks FGS, I should have asked you wise women instead of consulting the yellow pages.

Elibean · 07/05/2008 21:01

G&B do white chocolate? Actually, on second thoughts...maybe not tonight, I've eaten lightly (for me) all day and am feeling much more human...but Bebe, do talk G&B to me again tomorrow

AQ, I can hardly believe yo'ure 19 weeks already...omg, its going so fast (I know, I know, it always does when yo'ure not the pg one). Indith and you are making me just a tad broody now

A nurse asked me if I planned to have any more last night pre-op, my jaw dropped and I said 'noooo, check my age!' so she did, then her jaw dropped, and she said 'wow, you don't look it'

Maybe not, but thats it all the same, so broody thought promptly quashed! Am off for a very early night...

accessorizequeen · 07/05/2008 21:27

It's always nice when people say that, Eli! Lots of people have been saying how good I look and I have to wonder if they expect me to haggard because I've got two LO's and twins on the way. I've found this pg no more difficult than the other two so far, and they were pretty easy. I'm lucky! I have a friend who's 41 and trying for another (she has dd's 7 & 10), I tell her I've got friends online who had lo's older than that and it's fine! She just had m/c so worried she can't do it, I felt awful just telling her I was pg, she cried although happy for me of course.

Indith, 10 weeks is when they should do the scan, ridiculous doing it at 16+ when dating not as accurate. Although sonographer seemed quite sure of herself! Sounds more organised up where you are anyway. I got engaged to dp 8 months after meeting him, but we knew after 3 I think! These days I don't even wear my ring, afraid ds2 will swallow it

bebespain · 08/05/2008 10:06

Yes Eli I´m afraid they do! I just discovered it on my recent trip back to England and am hooked. Not only did I bring some back with me,(long since eaten) I have also had some sent out and have eaten that too Dunno where I´m going to get my next fix....

Thanks again everyone for your good wishes for DS He´s full of a cold now and has a terribly runny nose - bless!

Ze - Hope you can get the bees sorted safely. Pity you can´t direct them over here, my FIL keeps bees and makes some delicious honey with them - they scare the life out of me though!

FGS - Hope DD continues to improve...

I hear you´re having some glorious sunshine in England - yippee! Its piddling down again here so there you go a bit of karma!

Indith · 08/05/2008 22:11

No more oral exams ever!

Have ER on TV and fairtrade mint chocolate DP is at the pub, DS is snoozing like an angel. Perfect.

Just 3 written ones to go!

Olihan · 08/05/2008 22:33

Hooray Indith . I remember counting down the last assignments/exams, etc in my final year. You'll be a proper adult soon .

DS2's sleep has gone to pot again. CC worked initially, had 3 excellent weeks, then he had a cold and started waking again, so we CC'd for a couple of nights, cracked it until he cut a tooth and had this cough/cold bug and now we're back to a good hour awake in the middle of the night. DH says we have to CC again, I hate listening to him cry and can't face having to do CC every time he has a cold or cuts a tooth but I don't know what else to do. CC or constant wake ups - I'm not sure which is worse and [fed up].

Off to a wedding tomorrow. It's a friend of DH's from school who's now a Sky News reporter so I think it'll be a bit 'sleb' [eek]. It's a night out sans children though, which is always good.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 09/05/2008 08:18

Well done Indith!

Babysteps Day 23 - Create an afternoon routine

DD2 is still asleep shock She has sgtarted refusing to go to bed as she is so hyper after playing with Daddy when he gets back from work. She shakes her head NO when we say it is bed time. So of course she is knackered this morning. What time do your LOs tend to go to bed? Up until now it has been 7.00 for DD2 but I think she wants it to be 7.30 now.

babypowder · 09/05/2008 09:20

FGS, DD1 goes to bed at 8:00, DD2 at 8:30 It's the only way it works in our house. I would so love it if they both went down at 7:00 ......

Such a lot to catch up on! Bebe, I adore the G&B white chocolate - it's the vanilla kick I think.

Had another interview yesterday. V scary - it included a 30 minute presentation. I can barely maintain a 5 minute conversation these days (and most of that is in baby talk!)

Speaking of baby talk, DD2 has said her 'proper' first word. Not mummy or daddy. Oh no. Her very first word is shoes That's my girl

bebespain · 09/05/2008 09:25

Yes, well done Indith - not long to go now!

Olihan - DS sleeping has got to pot too. Everytime I think we´ve cracked it he starts waking up crying. We seem to get a good few weeks and then disaster strikes again and I just don´t understand it as in our case there doesn´t seem to be a reason...I never know what to do for the best and hate to leave him crying - arrrgh

FGS - we get the head shaking No too! Looks so funny as DS very firmly shakes his head when he doesn´t want something

DS is still full of a cold and has quite a nasty cough, he´s off his food too so off to the Docs later...

FunkyGlassSlipper · 09/05/2008 09:29

BP - fingers crossed that the interview went well.

accessorizequeen · 09/05/2008 11:41

Well done, indith, you're a star! Hope you enjoyed ER, it's one of my pleasures in life at present.

BP, fingers crossed for you, arggh have done presentations like that but not after I've had two kid!

FGS, mine both go at 7 but if they're hyper for whatever reason I let them go till 7.30 and wear it off a bit. Although, I think sleeping in until 8 sounds great, ds2 does it now and again and such bliss.

Oli, arggh on sleeping, we were there with cc over and over with ds1 I decided it just wasn't worth it as you do have to keep repeating it. I suppose he's too old for pupd, shush pat or gradual withdrawal from room? Start a sleep thread?

jabberwocky · 09/05/2008 15:25

Congrats indith!!

Ds2 still gets up once around 2 am so we haven't totally mastered the sleep thing yet. He goes down at 8, ds1 at 8:30. No way could I manage to get them down any earlier. They are both little balls of energy!

Good luck with the job, bp.

LenniEd · 09/05/2008 19:40

Sleep/bedtime... DD goes to bed at around 7/7.30pm but she has stopped napping except in the car now. If she does get a longer nap (more than 30mins) in the day then she'll be hard work getting her to stay in her bed, so sometimes it ends up closer to 8pm to avoid the fight. She is teething again at the moment and has now got 3 more back teeth coming in, so a bit disturbed in the night, but so much better since she went in her bed. If she wakes we just pick her up and hug her to soothe her and then put her straight back down and say 'night night, sleepytime'. It took a few nights of persistantly doing that over and over again but seems to have cracked it for now... they change so quickly though, everything is just another phase. We are fortunate to be in a sleeping phase right now.

Congratulations on the exams Indith, am sure it is a relief to be able to forget about some of them. Not long left now. What are you going to do afterwards? It feels so strange me not being in lectures, I have so much 'Mum' time on my hands! I won't finish my masters until Xmas though so have some time left yet, although its all independent research now, no more uni.

And sod did duly apply his law. Although very early days yet, and feels a little surreal.

Indith · 09/05/2008 19:46

Proper adult my arse, I'm never growing up

Baby BP shoes good girl!

Ds goes at 7. He doesn't really do long naps so really can't last any later. He frequently sleeps til 7.30 or so which is lovely. Thankfully we don't seem to have to repeat CC, when he is off colour or something he needs lots of cuddles etc and usually co-sleeps, after a few days I start thinking it will never end but then he just reverts back to sleeping.

I have planted my flowers and have some tomato plants and strawberry plants If I can manage not to kill those then full scale veg production next year! Uni kind of got in the way of doing the seedlings etc ready for this year.

Exciting buy of the day, 4 sleepsuits, 6 t-shirts, 1 long sleeved top, 1 shirt and a pair of trousers for £5 from the charity shops. For ds obviously.

OP posts:
Indith · 09/05/2008 19:49

Lennied!

Is there life after uni? Don't know really, keeping ds in creche 2 days a week to keep his place and give me the chance to look around and do interviews etc but we shall see. Expect I shall volunteer on one of the youth work things around here or the disability befriending scheme until dc2 comes along then get proper job at the end of "maternity leave" sort of time.

LennieD. Bit of a boom going on!

LenniEd · 09/05/2008 20:04

Not too late for veg Indith - you can get plants that need potting on and a bit of nurturing from markets and the like at the moment reasonably cheaply. I know its not the same, but still get homegrown veg. We are going with plants this year due to our inhospitable climate and will brave seedlings next year if this years plants survive. Not spending weeks nurturing them only to see them all killed by the wind and rabbits as soon as we plant them out. Have set up the raised beds today, now have the weekend to shift 3 tonnes of topsoil and plant a hedge!! Sorry ladies, but I'm hoping the lovely weather breaks, can't face all that in the sunshine!

Not sure if I'm the best person to advise on life after uni! At 28, in the last 9 years I have only spent 1 year away from the place in some capacity! Dammit, am going to have to get a real job again eventually
