Reggiee · 14/02/2008 21:03

Hello...

Shimmer · 14/02/2008 21:07

Well I just got home from work and guess what DP got me for Valentines Day???????

Go on guess.............

Guess...............

Nothing. F**k All. No flowers, no chocolates, no perfume, no fancy dinner, no engagement ring (huh as if!!) Not even a card. And when I questioned this (I got him a card and a little present) he said "urrr i thought we weren't doing presents and stuff". I'm not even angry (well maybe a teeny bit) but mainly

I guess it's really, if i'm honest, beacause I'm waiting for him to propose. We've been together 4 years now and obviously have son and I spose i've been thinking more and more that we really should be getting married. I wuold lOVE him to propose to me, I really don't want to have to do it myself. But how the hell is he ever going to get round to proposing if he can't even be bothered with a card on valentines day????????

Sorry.... just had to get that off my chest.

ratbunny, F only has 1 nap now, between about 12:30-2.

Sorry to hear about DHs nan EAH

How exciting LAL... Keep us posted!

Reggiee · 14/02/2008 21:14

Shimmer - there is always 29th February. It's your last chance for another 4 years.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 08:49

OMG, G has possibly the worse case of chicken pox I have ever ever seen.
he is literally covered, and really really poorly. His nose is virtually dripping with green snot and he's coughing lik ehe smokes 40 a day. His temp is going haywire too.
I took some photos of him in the bath last night because I thought he had alot of spots then but thsi morning has has double the amount he had last night.
He's got so many on his head that he can't get comfy because he's lying on the blisters (another spent on the sofa).

I'm waiting for the GP to call back because piriton isn't making one jot of difference and I'm a wee bit worried.....

eandh · 15/02/2008 09:46

Shimmer - I didnt get anything either but to be honest I did say not to bother as we've been together nearly 12 years so novelty worn off, my cousin got fed up of waiting for her bf to propose so she did it last leap year. Whats Mrshimmers email we'll all email him subtle hints

lth - piriton didnt work for hattie either we ended up getting phenegan on prescription just for sleep, poor little man

ooooo guess who was outside my work this monring - aled jones from the chris moyles breakfast show, they are broadcasting from leeds castle and announced the one big weekend is at mote park in maidstone this year so giving tickets away, my mate from work was ont he radio but didnt get any tickets I was so sad with my phone taking pics. So if anyone is getting tickets online and needs a place to stay I am a 15min walk away from where its being held this year!!!!

bad news on childcare front - phoned mil to see how dh nan is and she is quite bad and has checkups at hospital but they fall on the days she normally has the girls, so looks like me and dh will have to use annual leave/sick days to cover and may need to consider another altenrative but no point sending them to cm or nursery as would cost to much, my mum has them today but shes not well as got an upset stomach so am going to leave early afternoon to pick them up.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 11:52

gp wpuldn't prescribe phenagan....he said its not licenced for this age

eandh · 15/02/2008 12:02

whoops my fault just looked at box/bottle (am home now as picked kids up from my Mums as Ellie freaking out at my Mum being sick) phenegan was actually for ellie think I may have given some to Hattie though did he give anything for him (apparently they can prescribe eurax if under 2)

eandh · 15/02/2008 12:04

remember now she got the phenegan as she had chicken pox over her eczema so was very uncomfortable for her

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 12:13

TBH the phamasist nearly sold me phangen thee other week for G but I said he couldn't have it as he's under 1(was before his b'day) and she aggreed...even after reading the box!!

I thought the GP was talking out of his bumhole.

G is abit happier now. He's totally addicted to bananas atm so he's just eaten the biggest one in the bunch which perked him up. I've given him some piriton now and will give him another dose before bed, he's only been having it once aday so hopefully the doube whammy will help.
He's still getting more spots though...his belly alone has more now then his whole body had yesterday and his face is covered too, he's got loads in his eyebrows...it makes him look like a klingon!!

Wilkie · 15/02/2008 15:09

LTH - take a photo so I can see, only seen EAH's H with it. Bless him. I want J to get it over and done with!

Is anyone actually pg then?? LAL? LTH? EAH??

I can't get anything done until DH knows one way or another about this bloody job! They have moved the interview to next Friday so we should know by a week on monday. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Beek looking at houses in Shaw, Alkrington, Milnrow and Royton.

vinorouge · 15/02/2008 16:01

Just popping onto say hi.

Shimmer for you feeling down yesterday. If its any consoloation it took ages for DH to propose to me, said once we bought house he would, then it took him 18 months to do so and we had (or I initiated ) several alcohol fuelled (tearful hysterical on my part) converstaions about the whole marriage thing. We just do cards and it wasn;t very romantic that we were both writing them hurridly yesterday morning. Maybe E&H is right and you need to take 29 Feb into your own hands! BTW I have just invited you to be my facebook friend

RGee - where have you been ? Busy working?

Found out today the old owners of our house had a limited company registered at the address so have had to write to companies house to let them know. You;d think they'd redorect their post if it was business stuff wouldn;t you.....but no...

LTH - poor G. He sounds in a bad way. Totally agree re the new car seats and if you ever heard of anything bad having happened if you gave /sold the old ones you would never forgive yourself would you.

LAL - hope your pg test is the negative you want or that your AF arrives.

E&H - bad news onchildcare front. Never good to be using leave for things like that is it. Esp when time off together is so precious.

Wilkie - bet you are excited looking at houses. More keeping fingers crossed for DH interview!

Had a lovely day at my friends yesterday with her and her 2 month old. Forgot how teeny they are and how light! I was practising holding a baby and grappling with Ellen. Had to teach her to stroke nicely rather than slap in the face.

Our new lightbulbs arrived yest but we can't work out how to get to stay in the fittings. Both DH and I were int he hall last night standing on a chair getting more and more frustrated with them. Not sure what we are going to do. need to get an electrician round to quote osmething else so migth have to ask his advice but until then we can't see in the hall.

Got to go, forgot to get chicken our of freezer this morn so got to walk to shops to buy more before I pick E up from nursery then we are going to a friends for coffee on the way home. Going to be lazy and get bus to shops then walk back up which is uphill so I guess it would be lazier to do it the other way round!

MrsCarrot · 15/02/2008 16:03

Vino - so pleased your scan went went well. Hopefully the rest of it will be stress free for you now.

LTH - That sounds awful! Mine never had it that bad, only the odd few not on the trunk.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 16:54

Chicken pox photos on profile now......

laughalot · 15/02/2008 17:44

Lth the poor little thing they look so sore bless him.

Af arrived I cannot tell you how relieved I am.

Vino so glad all is well with baby but not happy you are standing on chairs trying to change lightbulbs in your condition .

Ironing is calling .....................

eandh · 15/02/2008 17:58

AWWW poor little mite at least you know they'll start scabing soon - I know what you mean about the picture not showing all of them up ((((hugs for G))))

Lal - I am cramping and have pmt so af on the way for me

Rgee - where you been??

Vin- oh no about lightbulbs

I am taking girls to my Nans tomorrow to see her and my auntie so just sorted all the bag out and packed spare clothes (no doubt we'll end up at a muddy ark or on the beach) and we're off to a pirate pub for lunch which ellie will love.

Both girls were in bed at 5.45 today Hattie had 50mins sleep 9.20 till 10.10 when I went to collect her from my Mums and Ellie said she was tired and wanted to go to bed

Eddas and her dc came round this afternoon and her dd and ellie played really well (they normally play and squabble) so have said if her dd fancies coming round one afternoon whilst eddas is at work next week I'll have her and she can stay for tea (eddas sil normally looks after them) bless eddas she offered to have the girls on fridays if mil doesnt want to do it, but its to much for her but she did come up with the suggestion that I get ellie a preschool space for friday morning and she'll take and pick her up and drop her back to mil (not far from her house) so mil would have hattie all day but only have ellie in the aftrnoon. I need to find out if MIL can still have them first (am hoping once dh nan on te mend she wont mind having them)

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 18:02

more have been appearing all day EandH so I certainly do hope the scabs start soon.

Actaully he seems to be abit happier thsi afternoon. Still abit up and down but more up then down.

Please all cross your fingers, toes, knees, eyes, ears, elbows that he sleeps tonight!

Wilkie · 15/02/2008 18:17

LTH - awww bless him that looks AWFUL! Hmmm, maybe I don't want J to have them!!!

EAH/LAL - lesson 1....use protection!!

Shimmer - bum about DH. Men are shite. DH asked my dad if he could marry me 5 months before he actually got round to doing it! Dad said he was starting to wonder if he had changed his mind...In the end it was a shite proposal, after tea one random night! I wanted something special. I think 29th Feb is a fantastic idea though. Go for it!!

Vino - lesson 2.....No standing on chairs when pregnant!! I reckon you're having another girl. After all these scans did you still manage to hold out and not ask?!?!?!?!

J is being the child from HELL. He woke 7 times in the night, he just wouldn't sleep and has whittered and whinged ALL day. DH and I at the end of our tether and gave him a full 10ml dose of Calpol Night tonight before bed. I could quite cheerfully have smacked him today but I didn't!!

DH is currently jumping around the lounge on his bloody Wii! We're having a chinky in a bit. He's forgiven though as he bought me a huge boquet of white lillies yesterday (my fave although will prob poison the cat!!) and the 'Jamie at Home' cookbook I have wanted. Bit of a shock as he is not the romantic type.

We have agreed to start TTC in December. I can't believe it is only 10 months away!

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 19:59

G has just had a bath with porridge oats and its amazing. It amkes the water soooo lovely a silky and rubbing it on your skin is lovely. Porridge oats go inside a sock and you run the tap through them....really lovely.

Its also amazing at the number of spots he's got. I have honestly never seen anything like it! there isn't enough space to put my finger between the spots on his head...it feels horrible. Even Ds1 was gobsmacked.
I wish the photos showed the spots clearly, its quite shocking.
I actually felt quite teary when I was rubbing the calomine on him after the bath...there are so many blisters that I'm scared to touch him incase I hurt him. He looks absolutely awful...my poor baby

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 20:58

he's screaming and screaming and scraeming now.....I don't knwo whatto do with him.

he's had calpol, piriton about 1.5 hrs ago. just had some nurofen and anti-biotics....he's just screaming and scareaming.

boys arein bed. dh is awork.....I'm abit scared.

laughalot · 15/02/2008 21:06

Wilkie dec bet your preggers by jan

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 21:26

he's just goen to sleep....I tried to ring nhs direct but he was screaming so much I couldn't, I'm on the phone to them now...

MrsCarrot · 15/02/2008 21:29

Poor, you, LTH, and ds4. That must be really stressful. Hopefully he will feel a bit better when he wakes up, though I suppose you're not holding out for a good nights sleep. Did he catch it off one of the others?
