To continue the nursery rhyme theme.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Reggiee · 27/02/2008 18:26

Are your lo's doing massive shits at the minute (I know yours is LTH). P just does one once a day but it is like a masssive cow pat covering all quarters of her nappy.

Wilkie · 27/02/2008 19:01

OK, so the personals didn't happen. Sorreeeee...

LTH - don't wash just chuck

LAL - PMSL at Lauren - perfect timing!

EAH - PMSL at E's comments. Hee hee.

Susie - sorry to hear about your bathtime troubles. Sounds like you have a lovely neighbour. Re the noisy neighbour, it is so hard isn't it. Part of me agrees with you and part of me thinks that she has a right to do whatever she needs to do on an evening, even if it makes noise. Our neighbours talk REALLY loudly which is SOO annoying but it is their house. I'm not being unsympathetic though - it is a really difficult situation.

Reggie - J's turds are HUGE and normally have raisins in them. Although we were in town today and I had forgotten his drink so I bought a Boots Baby Juice carton - well it went straight through him and he did the most disgusting diahorrea nappy this afternoon

So much to do here. Hopefully moving date is 20/03. We are having to rent as Northern Rock are now refusing to lend us the money we need for a new mortgage (am I repeating myself???? sorry if so...) so we are having to finish our mortgage with them, pay £3800 in redemption penalities.....I am so about it. We are going to rent for 6 months to give us breathing space to find a house.

Just need to find a CM now...!

Wilkie · 27/02/2008 19:52

Really about this

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 20:22

Thanks so much for the support girls, really really appreciate it. Dont feel so down tofay. Still in alot of pain, but more positive about it. MUm came round to help with tea time and bath and bed, so I wasn't dreading it all day today... Last night, the baileys did relax me nicely.I had alot
I fell asleep into a really deep sleep until 2:30 am then was up for about 3 hours as couldn't get into position that didn't hurt. I went into Isobels room in the end, and lay on the spare bed, watching her. Does that make me odd? It relaxed me enough to doze off again, until I was woken up by Makka Paakas arse hitting me in the face. Isobel standing pearing over theend of her cot looking confused, yet triumphant that she'd woken me up She was hungry!

I didn't feel the earth quake, unless that was what woke me at half 2? not sure what time it started or when it would have been felt in london. any one know?

Wilkie: I agree about the noise thing. Totally. It is just domestic noise, its nothing to outragious. I do think that the noise of her exercise machine, vibrating above my head at 7:30am on sunday morning, a leeetle bit anti-social though It is so hard, as you are right, what can I say? I guess i am pissed off because i'm tired, sore, and having Izzy woken up so often is so wearing.. also, She shouldn't have wooden floors in the kitchen, its against the lease. I had a rug down in there to absorb the noise, as I was aware of it carrying to downstairs. LIke I say, I think I am pissed off because i go out of my way to be considerate to her, but I suppose that doesn't mean she has to be... I think I"ll just mention it next time I see her, and say it nicely, somehow! ? ? ( er, how? )

Laughalot: Spot on Lauren, gold star for that timing! as for Ds, its a really positive move having a referral, so useful for so many things for his development and support from school. Once he's in the system with them, things will be much smoother. I hope you can see it as a good thing, rather than worry about it too much.

2H: Any news on the runa away shed? is it because it felt unloved?

e&h: sound like ellie is doing really well... she doesn't take after you does she? Bless her... amazing how much of our triats they hve, so so young... makes me really wonder about nature v nurture you know. I can see already so much of Mr C's traites in Izzy already, and she is not even with him all the time

Reggie: Yes, HUGE poos. Enourmous, nappy filling dumps. I thought it was becasue she is teething. She also has horrible horrible nappy rash which is bleeding in places. She has only had it once before, and it was when she was teething with the 1st 4 teeth.

UD hows the little man? back to himself now? Enjoying his custard puds at nursery again?

vinorouge · 27/02/2008 20:29

Wilkie - the suggestion of using childcare info service is a good one, i got lists from their website when i was looking for nursery/CM for Ellen. At least you can then ge the list with an A-Z and cross off ones that aren't nearby or conveient for travel (based on where you might be working?). Nursery first is also a go0d idea cos might be easier to find a space there and might mean J gets friendly / interaction with lots of others. i don;t know whether you are against nursery though so apologies if you are. You could ring round childminders avail in area and go to visit them like you are lining up houses to view.

Our health vsiitors sometimes have vacancies for CM advertised in baby clinic. I guess its hard if you don't know exactly where you'll be living to try and contact them in advance.

I know you 'don't do anxiety' as you said the other week but don;t forget that you will prob (as any mum would) worry about their lo settling and being happy. Wherever you choose to take him while you're at work he'll prob be happy as can be.

Can anyone at the golf club put you in touch with anyone?

Sending you a

I slept through the earthquake but DH woke up. He said the whole hosue shook.

vinorouge · 27/02/2008 20:36

Wasn't ignoring everyone else, was just replying to Wilkie first.

Susie - hope your back is not too painful. Whenever mine hurts I think of you and remember that mine isn't as bad as that. Since I have had phsyio session and been doing my pelvic floors (not evry day but most days), things have been a lot better. Pelvis aches when I walk a lot though but can't avoid that so what will be will be.

E&H - thought comments on Ellie's pre-school report were hilarious. Also liked the sound of honey sandwiches for e&h so think I might try E on them. Do you use set or runny honey? I know it doesn't matter but just wondered! E's hair needs cutting and I was debating whether to do it myself or not. Its wild at the back!

Reggie - did you get your fill of choc cookies last night? I have just been for carvery tea with a couple of people from work and had ice-cream with choc sauce for pud. Big nom nom.

2happy - no more blowings away today then?

LAL - also chuckled at Lauren's loud poo

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 21:07

Vino: I give runny honey sarnies to Isobel. She LOVES them. Its the only sarnie she doesn't pull apart and demolish

i couldn't wait until she was 1 to be able to give her honey, god knows why! Maybe because me and DH have honey in our porridge and she was always aksing for more after she'd had hers. We can just do a massive pan of it now.

Wilkie · 27/02/2008 22:01

Thanks girls - don't know what I would do without you all. As you know I am on ADs so I am prone to ups and downs. I guess this is just a down for me at the moment! Am gonna look at the CIS, plus EAH has emailed me some good links for groups etc. I am not keen on nursery TBH and would prefer the 1:1 of a CM.

Susie - if she is against her lease by having wooden floors then I would say something. It is so frustrating when you are considerate but others aren't.

Runny Hunny sandwiches here too - plus I put a nice big dollop of it in J's porridge. A good trick also for when they have a cough is melt a teaspoon of runny hunny in boiling water, then add some cool and let them drink it. It soothes the throat and cough better than cough syrup.

I'm shattered - off to bed in a bit.

Vino - get thee some bump photos up please. Plus, DH and I will be in Milnrow by Easter Weekend so must make a date for you, me and Reggiee to meet. I can't make this Sunday to the service unfortunately, am going to Mum's for the day.

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 22:05

I really know just how you feel Wilkie. am also on AD's the smallest things send me either way

you will be fine, truly you will. There is just SO much to think about. But like tidying a table, if you start in one corner, the rest will soon fit into place

Trouble about hte lease is, she rents so its her landlady's problem, technically. I'll just have to tell her I think, and tell her that I had a rug down, to prevent problems... worth a try, maybe?

night night girls, off to recline and relax on the bed. sleep well all, and all Dc's! take care.

eandh · 28/02/2008 08:19

Morning -

Wilkie - it will be fine and you will find a CM, does your sister know anyone who uses one that they can recommend. As for anxious well its a huge move, selling, renting, looking to find somewhere to buy, setlling J, new jobsm but you will be fine and ok because you have to do it and be calm and in control for J so I promise you it'll all work out okay in the end (((hugs)))

Vin - I am dying to see 'bump' pictures, cutting hair is easier if they are restrained, normally strapped in highchair/seat with food works for me [grin. I use set honey only because thats what dh bought when I asked him to pick some up in tesco the other week. They both love honey and also golden syrup on toast, ellies fav at the moment is chocolate spread but have to restrain her (she helps making lunch and would put a 1 inch layer on given half a chance)

Susie - glad you are feeling better - pmsl at makka pakka arse waking you up make sure you get some rest and I bet you are looking forward to dh being home soon, no constructive advice about annoying neighbour

2happy - what did insurance company say?

Rgee - you never shared those cookies from your tesco delivery did you , hattie does 2 huge poos a day one between 7 and 8am and the other between 4 and 5 pm !

Right need to go as girls are squabbling over dollys (we have 5 dollys and obviously they want the same one!)

G'morning all

Isobel is sleeping through the night every night now! I'm so pleased. Won't be long until I manage it too, i'm sure. Will be taking slightly hight morphine dose at night so should sort my night waking in pain out.

I'm so proud of her Last night, I heard her just before I went to bed, she started to cry a bit. I waited outside her room, and peered in. there she was again, sitting up, reading her book, listening to music ( she\d switched on her musical mobile ) And every so often, she was just shouting really loudly, not even stopping what she was doing , not upset at all. it was all a big act, whawt a monkey!!!
Then she just lay her self back down, and was asleep after half an hour, not awaked again calling for me, until 8 am!!

Not much to sat really, other than how proud I am of my little lady

Well, must dash- do hope you a are all well

ZAC SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!

[shock ]

just have to try getting him in his own bed now...

eandh · 28/02/2008 10:19

well done Zac and Isobel!!! (grrr will someone tell Hattie to go back to sleeping throgh, she was awake at 2.30 screaming, put her in bed with us and she kicked dh right in his ahem 'privates' not sure who was screaming the loudest then )

On a positive note since we changed Ellies room around and decorated it she has slept every night (was coming in with us around 4am) and she asks to go to bed around 6-6.30 and sleeps till 6.30-7 most mornings (this was the child that was awake by 6am the latest every day for the first 3 years of her life) she is also eating for england so may be a growth spurt (although shes had a recent height spurt as she has bypassed load of 3-4 trousers and had to go into 4-5 as she needs the length)

vinorouge · 28/02/2008 10:46

I'm going to try a honey sandwich for Ellens tea today then!

Been quite productive this morning, tidied kitchen, made chicken pies for tea, a mousse for pud (yummy - we call it granny whip cos my granny used to make it, basically is a jelly made up with half pint water and left to set in fridge for half an hour til just starting to set, then you mix that into a tin of whipped up evap milk and hey presto you have a yummy whip). My hair is looking a bit wild so need to sort that out with ghd's.

Ellen is asleep, since she got used to new house she usually sleeps til 5.30/6ish but is a bit out of sorts this week. Am putting it down to MMR jab last week. She's got red spots in her groin, was just red at 6am but is now red bumps. Think its MMR or anything more? Might stop off at baby clinic on way to swimming to get HV to take a look.

I may, only may, have got my salary sorted out. Only been paid for 22 hrs a wk since Jan whereas been working 30 hours and at higher rate. Today is the cut off date for me to get paid properly in MArch but things seem to be working against me - emails not arriving, people being on courses....fingers crossed it gets done. Fingers crossed!

Wilkie - will get DH to take a bump pic tonight and post it. I keep thinking about it but then am lazy and can't be arsed to move to get the camera.

UD - great about Zacs sleeping too. Is he better now?

susiecutiemincepies · 28/02/2008 13:24

Well, mum has just been, and taken izzy home with her! I really really need a rest. So tired. i MUST not be on here for long, or I'll regret not making most of the quiet time on my own

I'd get Ellen looked at Vino. Just make sure its not chicken pox or something like that... Hope she's ok.

UD: WELL DONE ZAC!!! Ah, our clever little grown up 1 year olds! took their bloody time in doing it hey I was beginning to resign myself to the fact that I had the child that would never sleep a whole night until she leaves home I wonder whay finally clicks with them? I know I did do some proper 'sleep training' too, but I wonder if she was just ready to, and needed a bit of 'help'

Hope the rest of you are all ok. Catch you later

Wilkie · 28/02/2008 18:49

Quickie - Vino, apparently MMR spots come out about 3 weeks AFTER jab so unlikely. Chickenpox tends to start in warm moist areas i.e. groin, armpits, behind knees etc (if I remember correctly)

Reggiee · 28/02/2008 19:08

Uh oh Vino.........

Off out shortly for a meal with a work person. I soooo can't be bothered. I want to stop here .

Well done to the sleepers and the happy mummies! I so take it for granted now a good night's sleep.

vinorouge · 28/02/2008 19:48

HV said she thought spots were thrush so going to take E to drs tomorrow to get checked out. Got her weighed while I was there - 25lb9oz.

Just managed my first ever Tesco online shop. You proud of me RGee???? I tried it this morning and got all the way to checkout to find it was still my old address and there was no way I could change it so had to to it again tonight.

Susie - hope you enjoyed the rest

2happy · 28/02/2008 19:51

Wilkie - hope you sort out childcare ok. I got a list of CM from the local council too, but was lucky enough then next week to run into a CM I knew who had a space. You're right - it is hard enough once, but twice, and without having been able to get to know the person first, added to the stress of the move...
SCMP - hope you manged to get a rest today. Well done to dd for sleeping through.
UD - well done Z too! Now will you both tell ds2 how to do it?!!
eandh - PMSL at the report!
vino - fingers crossed for you for your salary. I don't know about bumps, but I remember ds1 was ill for a week after his MMR. Not looking forward to ds2 having it.
MrsC - hope you're healing ok.
PCF - have you sorted the rings yet? What are you going to get?
Where'd Lizz disappear off to again?

Well I phoned the insurance agency - man they're paranoid aren't they - they even put me on hold to check the weather reports for the area on Tuesday to make sure it really was windy (though don't see how that protects them against fraud - if I wanted a new shed I'd just wait until a windy day and then claim... not that I would commit fraud of course ). Unfortunately she put me on hold for a while, so I started doing other things (I was at work) and was trying to reach a shelf while holding the phone, but dropped the phone just as she took me off hold, all she must've heard was a muffled "oops, crap, I've dropped the phone", I think she thought I was a nutjob. Anyway, they'll cover up to £500, if it costs more than that we have to call them back to "discuss". Unfortunately, it's forecast for gales tomorrow again, and we haven't been able to shift the wreckage (well no further than hefting it back into our garden) so it'll probably take off again....

OP posts:
susiecutiemincepies · 28/02/2008 21:20

I had a really nice rest this arvo, on the bed. was really helping and I fell into a really peaceful deep sleep... Only to be woken up by THAT BLOODY WOMAN UPSTAIRS ON HER STUPID ARSING EXERCISE MACHINE

Get the picture? I have to go and talk to her tomorrow, when I'm not so p'd off.
She has got to;
a) move the farking thing,
b) put it onto something that might absorb some of the noise and vibrations
c) do it at more sociable times
d) check that i'm not asleep first, every single time she hoiks her skinny bony arse onto it.... not that that is an issue... much...

AIBU ??????

2happy insurance companies are notoriously odd when i comes to making claims... The questions I was asked when i dropped my laptop and was claiming it under the accidental damages clause were far fetched to say the least.
I had to give detailed description of the room. Give an account of what I'd been doing prior to the accident, during, how i handled it, what my reaction was ( I kid you not) howm any times I'd pee'd that day ( ok, so, they didn't ask me that but I felt like telling him ) and then what i did immediatly after the accident. Then, I had to repeat it TWICE, once to the man talking to me at the time, and once to another agent. i felt like I'd been interviewed by the Gestapo at the end. They did replace my lovely G4 for a beautiful sleek macbook pro though, so I can't complain!

vino Glad its only thrush and not chicken pox... fingers crossed it doesnt develop more over night and turn out to be something like that. Is she itching alot, or troubled by it at all? I used a fab cream from neals yard when isobel had it. Cannot remember what it was, but if you have one near you, pop in and they will tell you straight away. Much nicer than the caniston.

Right, well after that huge mammoth post ( sorry ) I'm going to take my evening pain killers and think about bed maybe... will be around for a leetle bit longer

BTW, have any of you read my blog? its under susiecutiebananas, ( I cant seem to change my name on here back to it since christmas )

Ok I'm really going now... sorry...
