I'm back again

E and J gone to bed in Izzy's room on the double bed matress, except I've just realised the quilt doesn't have a cover on it because I took it off to wash it today Oh well they are both so tired I shouldn't think they'll notice.

J and M watching Cars, am planning on putting them in spare bedroom in a bit to watch DVDs in the hope they may sleep for a bit also!

SPB - Glad the Christening went well. I felt so worn out after Izzy's.

WCL - Sorry to hear about Leo, poor thing Izzy has had a nasty ear infection, she needed 3 lots of abs to clear it.

Hope you've sorted things out with DH Dippy?

Thanks for all the comments about my hair. I really like it and it's not so much of a shock now when I look in the mirror

Off to sort dishwasher out and have a tidy round!

CD and NL, sorry to hear you're having man trouble, is this the latest problem going round the thread?

WCL, sorry to hear about Leo. How far away from you does your brother live? It seems kind of him to take both his parents in, especially under such interesting circumstances.

Evening all

MJ You post about yesterday was so eloquent - thats what I wanted to say and totally agree about pillock And thank goodness for your satnav!

All of our children were so well behaved, and I am so proud of J. I did think that he might start flagging at some point, but I think he thought he was the same age as all the boys He has taken great pleasure in telling his dad that he "played with boys"

pesha Thats fab news about M Def takes after her mum
caz Hope you manage to sort the house/work stuff out.
cd & nl Hope your men start behaving themselves x

Well, W has hardly eating a thing all day He's also got what looks like conjunctivitus, and have had about 6 very runny, dirty nappies today He's just not himself.

Thats all from me tonight
x

(ps, when's the next meet up? have told dh we can get satnav for our car, so I'll just have to use it)

Does anyone remember me saying that I was sure I saw a bloke at Horseworld that I was in school with (think it was Octo?)

It was him, and he's just messaged me on Facebook! How random is that

Report
Octothechildherder · 03/02/2008 22:16

Weird!!!! But really funny - he must have thought about it all the way home!

Lovely to meet you all yesterday - would have been great to stay longer but the rugby MUST take priority

Ernie being hideous - have taken him to hosp this evening to get him checked out - when we got there he smiled at the doctor and giggled when he tried to listen to his chest - he had been crying inconsolably for hours. They think he has colicky wind from the bug he had last weekend. Is taking him hours to get to sleep and he won't drink milk.

OOOggs - I have wondered about the cows milk thing - am going to speak to my HV tomorrow anyway about ernie - will ask & see what she says!

Sister gone to bed. I should go too!

NorthernLurker · 03/02/2008 22:22

Octo - poor ernie! and poor you - hope you get some sleep!

WCL - sorry to hear about Leo - here's hoping he's lots better soon so you can spend lots of time here with us

B settled with huge feed! And dh and I settled down with soup and a film so all well here. I wonder if I'm pre-menstrual actually? Feel v snappish. But then I 've thought that before and no sign of anything - will keep you posted

Night all!

sorry for the hijack but i am looking after my niece next week who is 9 months old so thought i'd ask this in here. anyway what crafty activities do you do with them? do they like painting, drawing or playdough at this age? i've forgotten

Report
AngeG · 04/02/2008 09:27

Hi Nappyaddict, I have to say I've haven't tried those things with DD (almost 10 months) yet She plays mostly on the floor with music toys/stacking cups/shape sorters etc. She enjoys 'playing' with bits of paper (ie screwing them up and eating them)

Sorry I'm not much help.

Report
AngeG · 04/02/2008 09:31

Sorry you had a long night Dippy Hope you get chance for a rest today.

E, M and J left about 11pm. Tried to persuade her to stay but M wanted to go home. Had a text about 4am to say they were home safe, but she did also text to say she'd stopped for a sleep.

Morning NL

Thank goodness she got home safely. Was thinking about her when I got up this morning wondering if she was ok!

NA, I havent tried any of those things with dd yet either. Would think they are a little too young as everything is still shoved in her mouth!! F likes rattly shaky type things that make noise, generally anything that she can look at and chew!

CD, sorry to hear about your awful night. Hope she gets better soon xx

Taking F to doctors this morning as she has a bit of a rash. Dont panic those who were at the meet up. It does not look like pox!! I think its probably viral after the cold she has had over the weekend. She also seems very well and her temp has settled, but just want to get her checked over. Only thing is that I have to see the crappest doctor in the practice and he always makes me nervous as he is so dithery. He always sends us up to the childrens assessment unit at the hospital. Really hope he does not do that today. She really isnt particularly unwell, but he is a pita. Always remember him sending loads of kids in when I worked on that unit!

geordiemacminx · 04/02/2008 09:40

NA - You must have had really advanced 9 month old children

Ds is happy playing with anything that makes a noise, favourite game is sitting in the middle of the floor surrounded by pots pans etc ad hitting them with a spatula or egg whisk or similar. Also if I pull all the cushions off the sofa and get the quilts from upstairs I make a mini-soft play for him to climb over!

CD - Sorry you had such a crap night.

Pleased E got home ok.

Pesha · 04/02/2008 09:42

Morning all

Nappyaddict - not really done any crafty things here yet either. TBH D's favourite thing atm is me playing with him, singing and dancing, tickling games and standing up holding on to me staring at his feet And when I'm busy on MN he generally just rolls around the floor playing with whatever toys he finds!

Octo - isnt that typical about smiling for doctors, why do they always do that?! Hope E settled ok in the end and is better today.

Runny - hope W is ok today. Lol at j 'playing with boys'. He was really good and did really well keeping up with them all. Was lovely to see him and Nathan being so sweet together!

Dippy havent seen your other thread yet but hope dd2 is abit better today and you're able to catch up on some sleep at some point.

Hi Ange!! Cant believe how late the boys stayed up last night! Have texted Ellie and she was on her way into work wearing a load of slap to disguise her lack of sleep!

Report
Pesha · 04/02/2008 09:47

MJ - good luck with the dithery dr! Hope it is just a viral rash thing, m and N got them alot when little, best to get it checked though isnt it?

Morning!

CD sorry you had a rubbish night, poor little dd2 really hope it works it's way out of her system fast.

Hi Nappyaddict - I'm the same as everyone else, ds loves his junk tin with all kinds of odds and ends from around the house. Could play with it for hours. Oh, and he particularly likes licking the floor

back to work...

I love it when Dooby pops in with her out-of-date MN names Hello!

Finally got DD2 off to sleep, but P is very unsettled So unsual for her - she is usually no trouble getting down for her morning nap - thinking she is probably feeling under the weather too, poor thing.

Hoping they settle and sleep for a while - need to straighten things out a bit andm ay be get some kip myself - Tiredness hasn't hit yet though, probably will about 3pm....
