Dippy are your baby shop selling off cosy toes/buggy snuggles type things cheaply? I want need one for my maclaren buggy so not too long but I only want a cheap one really.

Am surprised Ellie hasnt told you any of the details of our night out! Although that could be because she cant remember!! I think I may be a bad influence And we met some lovely girls who said they thought I looked 19!!!! And got us doing shots!

DP and I were talking last night after Ellie passed out went to sleep so didnt actually get to sleep til just gone 5 And then he got up with Dylan at 6 bless him and I got up soon after Ellie when dp went back to bed.

Am knackered now, when is it bedtime...?

LOL Pesha - sounds like a good night!

To those who aked - yes they do sleeping bags for babies - not GroBag ones, another make. They do lots of plain baby vests/ sleepsuits too NL - I tend to find Green Baby comes up bigger than normal shop sizes as they are designed with cloth bums in mind! Pesha - they do sell buggy snuggles - I'll see how much they are reduced to in the sale. Will be going in Tues - Thurs - so I'll report back on the bargains to be had!

Poor little DD1 - she is so stoic. She has spots everywhere - backs of legs, all in her girlie bits, neck, tummy, back .... not too many on her face .... yet...... ..... She's still giggling and smiling though .... wish the same could be said for little DD1 who is very grumpy and annoying - Thank goodness she's already had the Pox so she can go to Pre-School / nursery and leave the littler ones and I to get through the Pox together

My older DD's are soooo sweet - They have been drawing pictures of "veeeery tiny mice" and now they are sat in our recycling box together sharpening pencils

GMM - I have one brand new white girl's T-Shirt in 6-9 months - My mum gave it to me with a load of stuff from the M&S sale and it is too small for porker P - You are welcome to it - Email me: captain_dippy "at" yahoo "dot" co "dot" uk It's a high-neck style with long sleeves, more cream-y colour than white; but very nice and plain!

GMM - Sooooo sorry - I don't kno why, but I got you totally confused with weeonion for a min and forgot you have a boy and not a girl He would definitely win Mr Gay comp in the T-Shirt I'm offering you

Sorry!

The T-Shirt is, however, still up for grabs - free to the 1st person to email me!

evening! glad to hear the meet up went well and you all had fun and none- of you turned out to be psychos

Ange your hair looks really lovely , it really suits you.

Well my sister and BIL are already on their way back to the uk but it was so lovely to see them. They had their scan and it´s a .... BOY..! yay! Another one! am so happy for them. Either boy or girl would have been fab of course and I was convinced she´d have a girl but I kind of like the thought of my sis having a little boy only a year younger than N and imagine them fighting playing together

nothing really wrong with the house as such.....it's just a bit smaller than where we are now.....and it's in the town....with a garden the size of a stamp.....and nowhere for my horses.....or the chickens...and the dog would hate it...and the cat would probably get run over...and we would have a neighbour.........thats all really......but apparantly I am living in dream land and I am a snob and we all have to make compromises cos dh really wants to go for this job.........just looks like we (me and the kids) need to make the compromises for his sake.....and I am not prepared to do it.....and yes I know I probably sound like a bit of a spoilt child

sorry

then I'd be a spoilt brat child with you, you're the one who spends most of the time in the house so I'm with you

Report
CaptainDippy · 03/02/2008 18:21

I'm with you too, Caz. {{{hugs}}} I'd put my foot down if I were you - sounds horrid

Just got DD2 undressed for bath - She is covered She's still being lovely though, bless her

Caz - not spoilt child at all. It wouldnt just be a house move from the sounds of it, it would be a complete change of lifestyle and for the worse. And I thought compromise was a meeting halfway for both parties, not you and the dc giving up everything you want and him getting his own way I would def put my foot down.

Maia has a letter about family literacy and numeracy classes at the school. Is thursday mornings at 9.15, dont know for how many weeks. Apparently she is one of only 15 (out of nearly 100 in the year) selected because her 'potential to achieve has been recognised by the school'. It helps them receive specific teaching to raise their achievemnet and helps me to understand lit and numeracy strategies so I can help her at home. Sounds really good and would be good to know how to help her better because they teach things very differently to how I learnt them and so atm when I try and explain things to help her shes no idea what I'm talking about! Need to find out abit more and then will have to try and find someone to have Dylan every thurs morning for me Dont even know how long the sessions last yet, I'm guessing about an hour. Am very impressed to have a genius child!!

Caz, with 5 kids I think it's reasonable not to want to move to a smaller house without a garden. Also, is where you are now owned or rented? Moving to a house that goes with a job has real drawbacks - if it's "tied housing" (legal term for home that goes with a job and employee lives in it for better performance of duties) you have no real housing rights. I've worked with housing lawyers in two local government legal departments and there are lots of problems over tied accommodation for caretakers at schools and on housing estates, for example.

Would your dh actually have to live there to do the job he wants to go for properly? And what would be the plan if for whatever reason he leaves the job? With 5 kids and several so young still, this is a decision that you should take together, it's not just about his career.

Report
cazboldy · 03/02/2008 18:52

we are in a tied house now elkie - always have been - so yes new job = new house......we usually specify things on his contract though to give us a bit more security......there are bonuses aswell though.... here we have no rent, no council tax and no water rates to pay either!
