ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

night pesha x

ah the multiple mums are still up

elkiedee · 24/01/2008 00:21

Night Pesha and Oooggs, and anyone else

oooggs · 24/01/2008 00:23

night elkie - I'm going to count sheep the next shift of screaming will probably start about 4am when the Medised wears off - sweet dreams

Maveta · 24/01/2008 04:59

lol last night´s ´good night´s was like the Waltons!

Great round up POTC - glad the hair got a mention after all So for you re. Justin. It must be so hard for you but of course you are completely right and if he wanted to have Joe so much for himself and not just for show, there shouldn´t be any problem at all in having him for those 3 nights on his own. It´s just ridiculous that he´s even making such a big deal out of it.

Gmm - lol! I too thought it was going to be, well, like morningpaper´s so what a relief!

Um...

Eddas - your poor wee man, do let us know what the doc says if you take him along. xx

Elkie - what shocking news for you about your friends´ dhs. nice to have happy news about a birth after that.

Why haven´t we discussed Heath Ledger? Are you all just DEAD INSIDE or what?

Not sure what to do with N. He is driving me C.R.A.Z.Y. He seems to have developed this really really irritating screechy scream and I can´t decide if something is intermitantly hurting him or if he´s just faking it. I know that sounds bad, is he too young to do that? I don´t know, it just seems like he does it all the time now and if you do what he wants (pick him up/put him down/both at once/ help him stand) it stops and he´s all smiles. And he cried like this a few times last night and it just didn´t sound normal. It sounded over-done and forced. iykwim? God that sounds awful that I´m saying he´s faking it but I´m not sure if maybe all the extra attention etc while he´s not been well has kind of reinforced that crying out like that gets a rapid response?

Any suggestions? Then dh this morning said maybe we should go to a cranial osteopath and see what they say (which made me feel terrible in case something really is bothering him) but the fact that he stops it when he gets what he wants is a bit although I don´t always know what he wants. He was crying and crying this morning (approx 4.15am) and dh tried to settle him. I then just thought I might aswell get up (whole night has been like this) so picked him up, brought him through to the sitting room, put him on the floor (still crying), put baby mozart on (stop crying).

HELP ME PLEASE I AM GOING TO CRACK UP! He used to be so smiley and happy and I am NOT impressed with this turn of events.

Eddas · 24/01/2008 07:38

Maveta, it can be tricky to work out if it's pain orthem being monkeys. Don't feel bad for feeling like that as it sounds like it could be him trying it on. It's weird how they can be sort of sneaky at such a young age but they can. Obviously it could be something more. What does you instinct tell you? It's usually a good indication.

Not sure that really helped

ARGH, ds seems better this morning. Not fully better but he's crawled a little bit, smiled and has yet to moan too much(been awake about an hour) he drank his milk this morning. I was worried about his food/drink intake yesterday but he had 5ozs milk at about 11 so then I started to think he was ok again, just eating less. He doesn't seem to have a temperature today. He's also trying to steal dd's bag

I'm now in 2 minds whether to bother the doctor. Instinct now tells me not to go as he is better today than yesterday. I'm of the opinion that as he is so little it's just taking a while for the 'bug' to disappear and for him to get back to himself. Any opinions greatly received? Please!

Oh and when i told dd that ds had a bug she went walking off to the window to look outside and find his bug bless her

justpinions · 24/01/2008 08:12

OK I'm back as me.

Any advice please ladies?? T is being a total pita. and has been for over a week with teething.

I know it's not his fault and all the usual, but from the minute he wakes he he cries/whinges all day long and he's doing my nut. I can't leave him for a second.

I try to give him calpol but only if really needed and teething powders. Anything else you lot are doing and I don't know about .

Btw work called me yesterday and agreed my hours finally. So will be working mon/tues/wed 5-9. Which suits cos no childcare costs - YIPPEE .

T crying back later x

Will try to catch up too.

POTC the scottish girls would be lucky to have you !

Teething solutions please and how are you all coping?? Is it bottom two followed by top two [thick emoticon].???? xxx

justpinions · 24/01/2008 08:14

Maveta. Crying = teething.

justpinions · 24/01/2008 08:17

And not impressed that the number 666 keeps appearing on our threads.

So go on who is it then? the devil reincarnated ?? Own up .

NorthernLurker · 24/01/2008 08:19

I would say see hoe you go Eddas - if he takes a downturn at all then ring docs.

Maveta - sorry for your rotten night - I think he's trying it on - but it's easy for me to say that just sitting here. Nine months can be a funny age - they are very aware of you, communicating well and they also become more aware of the world around them - the world becomes a bit scarier often I think than it was before.

Elkie - sorry about your friends but how nice to hear of a new baby.

POTC - just hang in there - you know you only want what is best for JOe - hopefully J will see that to eventually - although I wouldn't want to bet my house on it!

Eddas · 24/01/2008 08:26

ok, so now he is a little hot. Not too hot but still a bit high. Have given calbrofen and he's now happily sitting in his bouncy chair cooing. Much improved on yesterday, although still sitting. I think i'll ring the doctors at 8.30 and see what they say.

Thing is, I am supposed to be in work this afternoon. I know ds is more important but I really could do with going in as I have bits to do ASAP. But I don't want to leave him if he is ill. I just don't think he is, just taking his time.

Sorry to keep repeating myself. DC illness is one thing that is so hard to work out. especially in a child so little. SIL said he was no trouble yesterday. Just sat in his buggy all afternoon if he wasn't sleeping

[tearing hair out emoticon]

geordiemacminx · 24/01/2008 08:28

POTC, It would be lovely to have you but at the moment I cant commit to anything, dp's aunt and her hubby are supposed to be coming up mid feb, and either staying with us or his sister up on the coast. They live in Gloucester just now, but unfortunatley she has cancer so is wanting to see C as much as possible... wil try and pin them down for dates once she is out of hospital.

Its snowing here!!! Lots

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2008 08:29

Morning everyone
Eddas glad your DS seems better
Pinions and maveta, no advice sorry. I'm starting to wonder the same about T maveta. Last night he wouldn't settle at 3am, grouchy whine, almost as if he was saying "oh no I'm tired but I can't sleep come and cuddle me, oh come on it's been 5 minutes now AAAAARGHH after everything I do for you look all cute, get you a year off work brownie points with the grandparents you'd think the least I could expect would be to rocked back to sleep oh grouch grrr grr"
As you can tell, not a good night
Pinions, medised here if I think there's something wrong, which isn't very often, have only done it twice i think in the last fortnight. Not bothered about teething powders as I don't think he's actually teething, and surely they must wear off almost instantly anyway? Medised doesn't seem to make him tiired anyway
Right, quick lurk on active conversations the breakfast

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2008 08:31

x post eddas. Are you leaving him with your SIL as usual? As it's family, I'd leave him.
Forgot to say T stood on his own for a few seconds yesterday But I didn't see it

justpinions · 24/01/2008 08:31

spb.

geordiemacminx · 24/01/2008 08:32

C hates medised, makes him sick and not sleepy... we used the Ashton and Parsons teething powders which were great, and nurofen for kids, the one that comes with a syringe?

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2008 08:32

Oh and POTC am I right in thinking that J expects you to hand over J to him for 3 nights? Erm, hasn't he only ever seen him for about an hour at a time up to now?? Plus, is he planning to breastfeed?

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2008 08:34

I have the nelsons teetha stuff, certainly seems to work as I tried it myself on my abcess (note to pesha!!) but I'm just not convinced it actually helps him get back to sleep iyswim. Might try again though, can't hurt and I can give medised as well if I need to, can't i?

Eddas · 24/01/2008 08:35

SPB standing

I have a doctors appointment at 10. Can't ring sil to say if we're going til 11 anyway as she works til 9, then wanders in town for a bit so not home til just before 11. Gives me the chance to hear what the doctor thinks and then make a decision. He is more smiley and noisy today

Hi GMM/pinions/NL

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2008 08:37

That's good eddas, probably worth checking out if he has a bit of a temperature

justpinions · 24/01/2008 08:44

T crying.

Bummmmmmmmmmmmm.

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 09:19

I would go and have a check-up anyway, Eddas - sod's law: you don't take him, then in 2 hours time he has a raging temp and is unhappy and sleepy again .....

Well that is the way it always happens to me, anyway!

@ T standing, SPB - You are in trouble!!

POTC - I shake my head in complete disbelief at Justine ....... he seriously needs to get over himself. You poor thing. xx

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 09:21

Cheers for pic on profile, Elkie - So the blanket was red with navy stripe round the edge, right? You would be happy for my friend to give it a go?

Bramshott · 24/01/2008 09:24

Running in and off again, to say - did someone say it was half price listings on Ebay today? I can't see it anywhere on their homepage and I'm trying to work out whether it's worth frantically photographing all the stuff I was going to put on sometime this month TODAY, and then madly listing tonight. Anyone know? I am inspired by GMM's example and need to get rid of some baby junk!

liath · 24/01/2008 09:29

Morning.

Was planning to go to the local kid's farm but it's been CHUCKING down snow!

Maveta, J went through a really screechy phase a while ago & it was so out of character for him. It settled so I'm sure your happy smiley N will make a re-appearance (if not there's always ebay...).

POTC so sorry J is behaving like a twat.

Glad you've got a Drs appointment Eddas.

I'm feeling very sad at the Heath Ledger news too, what a waste .

CaptainDippy · 24/01/2008 09:33

@ this snow - we've just got boring old rain, rain, rain, rain ......
