ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

Have you seen this thread about gmtv poll on 'extreme breastfeeding'?

Get thee over there and vote NOW ladies!!!!!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 20:28

Just told dp that I may still be bfing Dylan when hes 2, 3 or 4. He said you will not, I asked why, he said 'its wrong thats why now shush' (watching top gear re-runs!) I just raised eyebrows and said 'dont make me choose...'

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 20:34

pesha, dh very similar, very positive till about a year, 18 mo, then he thinks it's odd
he'll see!! I think part of the problem is he thinks t will still be bfevery few hours

Sexonlegs · 29/01/2008 20:35

SPB, you are good with computers. Can you do us a new thread lovey??

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 20:37

Hi SOL - yes over 700 messages - we do talk a lot!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 20:42

Yeah if I was going to bf for a long time it would be only morning and evening and ocassionally daytime if poorly or particularly upset etc.

I'm not really going to mention it much anymore. The thought of me bfing Nathan just seems totally weird and somehow wrong because I stopped at 8 months, he stopped bottles at 2 and its just so strange and I think that is what dp is thinking. But if I've always fed Dylan then it will just be normal and hopefully dp wont really notice how old he is iyswim. Dont think I'm explaining that very well but hopefully you get what I'm trying to say. I may not even get that far I'm just gonna go with the flow and see what happens. 1 year is my target and after that who knows!!

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 20:43

new thread - title?
need to go & do bedtime in a sec, will be back

Maveta · 29/01/2008 21:03

ok well I´m going to see if I can post this before a new thread gets set up

Eddas - sorry to hear about the extra pay being delayed but glad you´ve come up with a plan of action and it sounds like a good one!

Runny - sorry you´ve been feeling a bit ratty, it makes you feel awful whenever you have lost it with them, even if just for a moment. But we´re human and it happens. xx

Mammyjo - I had something to reply to your post but can´t remember now - lol.

Extended bf-ing. Not sure how long I plan to feed N til, I´m really enjoying it and it´s so easy now, I generally don´t do it in public and only about 3 feeds a day so I can imagine it being easy to keep up for ages.

Very of all of you that can meet up, would love to join in one day..

Had a very busy day. made baby group which was good and met a new girl who seemed really nice. then went to show off N to a hotel manager we work with a lot who is totally lovely and has given us more than 1 free night in one of their hotels. He was thrilled and so sweet with N. Then to the park, then to dh´s mum for lunch, then shoe shopping for N (no luck), then PANIC PANIC PANIC my annual tax is due in tomorrow and I had completely dropped the ball so have been sat with papers everywhere adding and subtracting and generally stressing for ages.

Now sitting down and feeling really tense my own fault. will definitely need to set up a proper system for my invoices etc etc. Talk about being dragged kicking and screaming into proper adulthood

feel a bit bad as after the unsuccessful shoe shopping earlier dh came back from his haircut with a pair of baby converse low tops. (He LOVES converse) but I am not sure if they are actually good shoes for babies and don´t want to squash dh but don´t want N wearing fashionable but unsuitable shoes either iyswim. but i know nothing about what babies need from a shoe. Any opinions??

Mammyjo - I´ve remembered! the nursery - oh it´s horrible, isn´t it? It is such a wrench and I feel for you in anticipation of my turn in a couple of months

That´s it! phew

oooggs · 29/01/2008 21:09

Maveta - shoes - nothing on feet except socks/tights until they are walking unaided outside - just my opinion

oooggs · 29/01/2008 21:10

just back for 10 mins while bed is heating up

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 21:15

Come on someone creative
I'll do a boring or worse, offensive, title

Maveta · 29/01/2008 21:16

shoes would only be for when he´s toddling around in his walker in my mum´s garden so his feet are protected..i forgot to say that..

(i love the sound of your bed heating up, that hardly ever happens around here )

liath · 29/01/2008 21:17

I think "just off for 10 minutes while the bed is heating up" is good - nicely cryptic!!

oooggs · 29/01/2008 21:17

I would rather be somewhere warmer where I didn't need to told you I couldn't live further north than Bristol if I get cold in Cornwall

Maveta · 29/01/2008 21:17

April 2007 - the hormones strike back! And some of us meet up...

(in homage to the mass PMT a lot of us seem to be suffering, periods or not! lol)

liath · 29/01/2008 21:18

Although it's no fun anymore, everyone who disliked AN/PN thread titles will have modified their MN not to show them.....

oooggs · 29/01/2008 21:18

liath - "all I got for Christmas was an electric blanket"

oooggs · 29/01/2008 21:19

right that's it, the bed is ready and so is dh

liath · 29/01/2008 21:20

i like it oooggs.

I'm a bit pissed.

geordiemacminx · 29/01/2008 21:20

piercings puddings and periods

Pesha · 29/01/2008 21:22

Ooh I like GMM's!!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 21:31

Just got off phone to my dad. He's pissed off with his work and the house hes renting being damp and old and horrid. His boss, well person he does lots of work for although hes self employed, suggested taking 6 months off. He has still has some money from his inheritance from my gran so sometime after easter he is going to go off to the south of france on a motorbike with a tent for 6 months!!!!! I am so but also really pleased for him. He used to be a very successful lawyer but got disillusioned and pissed off I think and jacked it all in a few years ago. Since then he has been a postman, a bus driver and now a gardener/odd job type of guy I think which he has been enjoying but atm is getting abit much, aswell as still doing abit of legal advising to friends and friends of friends. I think its really good that he is actually doing what he wants to do and not spending his life stuck in a job he hates. Very happy for him that hes doing this actually. Although still incredibly

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 21:32
