ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

Fingers crossed for your friend runny x

justpinions · 29/01/2008 17:54

Thinking of your friend RH x

Pesha · 29/01/2008 17:58

Caz - I'm not sure where badminton is tbh but when we were kids my dad took us to see the horse trials a few times so cant be too far!! I remember standing behind one guy at the water jump and he was watching it on a mini tv - it was happening live right in front of him ffs!!

Pinions lol - will check email in a minute, thanks

Um...

RH - I think if its only the hind waters then its ok, just needs monitoring. I think risk of infection is less than risk to baby being born premature. And membranes can reseal too I think. I knew someone who was due just a week before me and her waters went at 20 weeks. She managed to hang on and I think the baby was born around 30 weeks when she went into labour.

Lol at GMM - I couldnt possibly comment!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 18:02

Liath - lol at the bath, have to say once a month doesnt sound that bad to me

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 18:03

Runny - hope you friend is ok. I know someone who leaked amniotic fluid for weeks before giving birth, her twins were early but ok. Sounds like she's had the steroids and they'll have time to work so that's good.

Pesha - forgot to say earlier - great to hear you got on well at the hospital with D

cazboldy · 29/01/2008 18:09

it's just that when we went there we stayed in this travelodge thing in bristol......not going there this year as I can't face pushing a double buggy all that way but maybe next year????

we went in May 2005, and half way around the cross - country course I was sick behind a tree and dh was over the moon as he was sure I was pg and I spent the rest of the day feeling ill and angry with him for taking the mickey......Charlie was born on 3rd jan 06!

it's about 4 and a half hours from where we live!

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 18:12

thanks for all your messages

dh has just told me that he's away tomorrow night and thursday night

pants

Octothechildherder · 29/01/2008 18:14

I live near Badminton

My sister isn't coming til saturday afternoon so could meet up ...

elkiedee · 29/01/2008 18:14

Hi all

Eddas, that must be such a disappointment re the long service payment and the carpet. Hope you manage to raise the cash to sort things out.

Fingers crossed for your friend Runny, and it sounds like they think her chances are good, what Pesha says makes sense. If they've assessed the infection risk as not being too bad, keeping the baby inside her for longer would be better for it.

It's taken me absolutely ages to catch up with today's posts even with my dad here, D is getting very clingy. And now I've forgotten everything. dp is on a late shift so I have help to bath him but will be putting him to bed on my own, I fear it could take a while. Goodnight just in case to anyone who goes to bed before 10 pm tonight!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 18:28

Elkie - good luck with bedtime

NL - thank you!

Caz - let me know if you are coming down and we might try and go too, I used to love it!

Octo - yay!! Now we need to sort out when and where!

Oooggs - would Bristol ish be too far for you? Or for you MJ?

RH - are you coming? Sorry if you've said, I'm being crap today!

What about WCL?

Anyone else?!

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2008 18:41

Praying for your friend runny - It depends how far gone you are as to whether they give you a "time limit" or not and it depends whether hind or fore waters have gone - I think at 29 week they will try and keep her going as long as poss. My water went at 35 weeks with DD2 and they gave me 96hrs to go into labour - I went 102 hrs and was induced - was horrid. ; but she is here and safe and that is what counts! Let us know .....

Absolutely ROFL @ NL and her mention of P's "fragrance" ..... a very tactful way of putting it!

cazboldy · 29/01/2008 18:59

oh yeah Pesha, forgot to say glad all was good at the hospital!

Well like I said probably not until 2009 - not sure what I would be most excited about the horse trials or meeting up with some of you!

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 19:01

Hi everyone
Runny, hoping your friend is OK. Anecdotal I know but a friend of a friend gave birth at 30 weeks, both mum and baby were fine (obv after a stay in hospital)
Hi everyone else. Lol at lots of place names I don't even recognise!
Well, better get on, forms to fill in.

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 19:09

Yes, we'll be coming on Sat as it means that I won't have to help fit the new bathroom and make the tea am taking the boys out from under everyones feet

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 19:14

Don't worry SPB - don't let the map scrutinising southerners get to you! After all - what do they know of the wonders of the North - of Otley, Goole and Richmond. Of Brough and Appleby and Morpeth? Of Goathland, Settle and Gateshead? Pah - a plague on their proximity to Bristol!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 19:17

Excellent Runny

Am knackere and grumpy and achey. D fell asleep on me feeding then woke up when N came downstairs and was all smiles. Have put him to bed anyway but now he is shouting and very cross by souns of it. Keeps going quiet then starts up again. Think I am going to have to go and give him another feed to help him get sleepy again. Typical its the one night I could really do without.

And dp is just sleeping all the time lately, is on meds which are making him sleepy but still he could at least try and fight it and stay awake. He seems to find the energy for football every saturday Really starting to piss me off actually, he's doing fuck all except sleep or moan about being tired and snap at everyone whilst sat on his arse. Oh and he has now has a cold so is obviously dying and even more useles incapable than he was before

oooggs · 29/01/2008 19:35

We went to Goathland in the summer on the steam train to Whitby I know up north names as well (well a bit) its just too cold up there for me I actually come from the south east

StealthPolarBear · 29/01/2008 19:39

Have you been to No Place? Or New York? (just outside North Shields ) Or Quebec? (near me!!)

mammyjo · 29/01/2008 19:48

I am hoping to come on Saturday too. 60 miles away doesn't sound too bad! Will take GMM's advice and do 90 all the way Waiting for dh to get home as he has been working late. Hoping he has sorted himself a lift.

Runny, really hope your friend and baby are ok

NorthernLurker · 29/01/2008 19:52

I've been to Calgary - and who needs New York when you've got the real thing

Pesha · 29/01/2008 19:55

So are we agreed on Horseworld then?!

Any other suggestions?

Oooggs - can you make Horseworld?

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 19:56

Dh has just told me that he has driven past that Horseworld quite a few times, and in his words "its dead easy to get to"

Although, I will still be "borrowing" his sat nav from his van

Pesha · 29/01/2008 20:01

I saw the signs for it when we went to Ikea, its just off the A37 so does seem easy Runny.

If theres 15 or more of us we can get a group booking discount but unless I'm missing someone there wont be 15 of us over the age of 3 will there?! Under 3s are free.

Pesha · 29/01/2008 20:14

Just had a look at the horses for rehoming. Luckily there were none small enough other than companion horses. Dp still moans about me getting a dog, dread to think what he'd say if I got a pony!! Not that I have a field or tack or money or anything like that!

Quite disappointed in my big sister actually. She always used to say she didnt really want children and would quote figures as to how much a child costs over the years and she said instead she'd have stables and ponies and my dc could go and ride them. Then she went and had a flipping baby and lives in a terraced house in a small town. No bloody ponies anywhere

oooggs · 29/01/2008 20:21

I hope it is easy!!!!!! anyway dh is now going to use the pc for college/work stuff so I maybe back but maybe not - so I am not avoiding the meet up discussions
