ooh aah a little bit more ..............

Are they/Aren't they?
Dippy
Pinions

Work
Pinions has issues with her return to work and her hours are yet to be finalised
Octo made the decision to go back to teaching, as a supply teacher for now
mammyjo was messed around by payroll and overpaid
crossover of uk/spanish public holidays caused problems for Maveta
weeonion is also struggling with issues surrounding her return to work

Babies
Talk about talking
weeonion's C has her first tooth
WCL is tearing her hair out as L is quite literally everywhere
wanky loon HV giving Pesha hassle over D's weight

Everything Else
Eddas made her Buggy Snuggle and it looks fab!
Caz has been asked to talk to teenagers about being a young mum
Oooggs has worries about a planning application right next to Nursery
GMM will be running for DEBRA
Maveta needs to chose a Nursery but with ratios of 1:8 it won't be easy
Maveta is also struggling with other aspects of the Spanish way of life, namely MIL
Hotlipsmummy rejoined the group after being with us during pregnancy, and promptly changed her name to 2hotcrossbunnies in preparation for Easter
Pinions had an op to remove some gremlin moles but is recovering well
Pinions brother has written a rather interesting book (that's the brother that doesn't star in random tv ads )
phdlife popped in to say hi
Pesha went to a party in her wellies and came home very drunk ""maybe a tiddly bit tiddly" by 10pm
Maveta has a new hairdo
Dippy will jump into bed with anyone that offers her a Kinder Egg
Pinions can knit
GMM has her notallowedtotellyou pierced
mj and oooggs had lovely girlie nights out with friends, while SOL took dh with her when she ventured out
GMM has bought a new pushchair
Dippy has stickykeys
KHIN needs (((hugs)))

Meet Ups
We were thinking of multiple meet-ups on same day in May to celebrate birthdays????
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS
Ellie wants to come to Scotland on Feb 15th if they'll have her???

Funny stuff
It was decided that MN is constructive
SPB asked "does it get easier as they get older?" (still pmsl at that one )

Also worthy of note
Octo had more wine leading to this quote -
"Fuck it, bugger working and going to supply and have 4 more children ..."

There were excellent language skills on display in the Liath household .....
"A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:
Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.
Me - I beg your pardon?
Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!
Me -
Dd - Bugger off cat!!
Cat -
I must stop using foul language"

A collaberation between Mr Dippy and NL came up with this new 'lullaby'.....
"Some naughty children didn't go to bed,
Along came a goblin and chopped off their heads.
Their poor parents started to weep,
Because the naughty children wouldn't go to sleep!"
"The naughty children bewailed their fate
But alas and alack it was all too late
The Goblin scarpered, quick as could be
So listen MY naughty children, go to sleep for ME!"

Pesha (or should that be Peesha ) got fed up of not being able to say her own name correctly and has changed it to Mashanapedyjo (Masher for short) thanks to Octo!

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2008 10:37

Yey for twins sleeping through Oooggs! Here's to an even better one tonight! xx

Mmmmmmmm ...... that kiss sounds yummy Pesha

@ your DH, MJ - I am thankful DH doesn't snoring, but he is a wriggler and an even worse sweater ....... He absolutely stinks ......

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 10:41

W does lovely kisses too - mouth wide open, complete with dribble [bleurgh]

Eddas - what a pita

MJ - Try and take it easy today (if you can) I hate it when dh snores - esp as he's adamant he doesn't

W was wide awake at 5am. Tried sshhing him back to sleep, then ended up giving him a cuddle in bed. Then J joined us, and the 3 boys went back to sleep - except me of course. I couldn't because a) I was balancing on the edge of the bed, and b) knew I'd feel worse when I had to actually get up.

Ended up having breakfast and lovely cup to tea in peace watching tv at 5.30am Guess who'll be on their knees this afternoon?

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 10:51

where have you all gone?

this seems to be happening a lot to me lately in rl.....talking to people but they're just not listening (or only hearing the bits they want to)
dh and pil for starters.

Eddas · 29/01/2008 10:52

hi everyone, glad to hear of the better night oooggs and about the not so good ones

Thanks for the sympathy, i'm just so pissed off with the money situation. ATM everything seems to be going wrong. Started with the car, that's sorted, then work change pay day, then dh doesn't get the money we'd been banking on So that's 3 right, so no more

Re the carpet, I know it sounds stupid but it's horrible. It looks ok, but the previous owners of our house had dogs and it just stinks. I have cleaned it with one of those carpet cleaner things but really, it just needs binning. I feel terrible that ds has to crawl on it, but I have cleaned it the best I can. It NEEDS replacing. DH said last night, well if we can find £300 we can do it. My reply? ok lets look down the sofa and see if we can rustle up £300 PRAT. just doesn't have a clue how much money there isn't.

On the up side we can still do the walls and we already have some shelves and things to put up so we can at least get rid of the horrible half yellow half white walls(white being that bumpy wallpaper stuff[bleugh]) and the interesting mint green daa-doh(sorry, no idea how to spell that) rail and the hideous fireplace. So all in all it's not so bad

We might be able to do the carpet in a few months I was just SO excited and have been crying about various things today. Didn't help that i've just watched last night's corrie(Vera's funeral)

Thanks for listening. Don't want to make dh feel bad by going on at him. It's not his fault. Just seems to be our luck

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 11:00

oh sweetie x

fwiw, I'm an emotional/hormonal wreck atm, and have been on the verge of tears yesterday and today. really shouted at J last night because he wouldn't stop crying

but nobody knows this rl - because its easier to paint a smile on, and say "everythings fine"

runnyhabbit · 29/01/2008 11:01

think I'd better get on with some work

see you later
x

Eddas · 29/01/2008 11:33

thanks rh and cd

I have come up with an idea that i hope will help with the carpet Have suggested it to dh and he agrees

I've mentioned before that we have shed loads of stuff cluttering cupboards adn it need sorting and selling/donating. Well I said to dh that we should deal with that over the next few weeks. Sort it all out, wash/clean/iron it etc. Ebay anything that's worth selling and donate the rest. Then hopefully we'll raise enough to do the carpet, if not maybe it'll be nearly enough. Also, that'll clear the cupboards meaning we can have a tidy(ish) house for once. I think they'll be quite a lot of stuff that we have used and no longer need/want so am hopeful of raising enough.

Am quite bright again now as dh has agreed it's a good idea and even if it doesn't raise enough it's another task ticked off my long list of 'to do'.

Have been wanting to do it for ages but it's a huge task to do on my own but dh is inspired to help now so we can do it together

Right, am off to work this pm, the joy, so will see you later.

Thanks again for listening

PS, Ellie, if you need any help later email me at my work email (nicola dot orpin at mfw dot co dot uk)

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/01/2008 11:38

I'm at work Pesha, don't have my phone on [tssssssssssp]

am feeling muddled

Joe got very excited when m's dad visited last night, as he does everytime he sees him. he doesn't do that for Justin. I would not be surprised if he calls m's daddy 'daddy' before Justin.

This doesn't bother me. Should it?

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 29/01/2008 11:57

Nope it shouldn't, E - babies are ifckle creatures!! P is the world's biggest flirt!!

Glad you are feeling brighter, Eddas - so good that DH has agreed to help you with your mammouth sort-out - Hope you do raise enough for the new carpet honey!!

CaptainDippy · 29/01/2008 12:00

fickle

oooggs · 29/01/2008 12:50

hi all

if we meet up then I can bring you those pillows pesha

eddas - hope ebay is successful

I also need to get my bum in gear as spent my ebay saving (for new car seat) on furniture before Christmas [bugger]

I am having a 'money management meeting' tomorrow pm - yes you may laugh - but some mums and I are getting together to motivate each other in the money department

  • menu planning
  • slow cooker recipies
  • any family recipies
  • money off vouchers
  • free delivery on groceries
  • best place to by seasonal fruit & veg (as cheaper)
  • credit cards
  • cheap places to buy presents etc.....
  • claiming correct benefits (child tax, WFTC)

I think our money could be better spent in the house, holidays (yeah likely) decorating, clothes so that is why I am so interested, but some of the others its because they have given up work and need money to stretch further

so any ideas girls, the menu planning you sent me eddas should be handy

Pesha · 29/01/2008 12:56

Hello!

Hospital was ok, not worried about D's weight anymore. Dr seemed amazed that I'm still bfing him and very impressed! I think bfing rates ound here are seriously low, especially past a few months. Feeling very guilty though as while we were waiting I noticed D has a red inflamed excema (still dont know how to spell that!) type patch behind his knee. I have no idea how long its been there as I never really look behind his knees if he's naked beingg washed, changed or in the bath its only the front of his legs I see. Doesnt seem to bother him at all. Dr said put cream on it and oil on his scalp for his cradle cap which he thinks is connected and if it gets worse go back. I asked if I should see them or GP and he said gps dont know muh about baby excema so to go back to them!

Got home and I tied my hair back as was a bit hot after walk up hill now the suns out and went to pick D up and he just stared at me, when I piked him up he started reaching round trying to find my hair!

Ellie - I wouldnt be bothered at all, in fact if he does it might give J abit of a wake up call. Probably wont but you never know. I will talk to Jamie later when he's up but I think he'll be fine. We are going to have a think about where you sleep now Dylans in the cot in Nathan's room but we'll sort something out. Does Joe still come into bed with you at night? Or would you be ok on the bottom bunk? Say if not, its not a problem.

Dylan just smacked himself in the face with a toy, he keeps doing that

Eddas - £300 seems alot for a carpet or do you have a really big room?

Pesha · 29/01/2008 12:59

Oooggs - I meant to reply to you the other day when you said about them but completely forgot Although given that I also forgot my baby's hospital appointment its hardly surprising really is it?! Sorry! Pillows would be great, thanks Neck isnt quite so bad now but still there iyswim and still gets bad every now and then.

Pesha · 29/01/2008 12:59

Pesha · 29/01/2008 13:00

Ooopps

Eddas · 29/01/2008 13:18

i wouldn't be worried potc

oooggs, that's the sort of meeting I need have threads saved on here about money saving and menus etc. Will try to email you and link them to you, might help If only you lived closer i'd love to come [saddo]

esha, glad D's appointment went ok, and you got there Our front rooms not big, think i've over estimated! We need underlay too and someone to fit it! the room's about 3.5m x 4.5m so approx 16m2. I think it'll be more like £250. Actually, does anyone know the best(ie cheapest) place to get carpet? We found one in Allied Carpet. We also would look at remnants before we buy it.

Eddas · 29/01/2008 13:19

oh and ds is a huge flirt too dd used to be, especailly liked boys/men when she was a baby. DH was not impressed

mammyjo · 29/01/2008 13:25

Ellie, definitely shouldnt be bothered by that! From the sound of it, M's dad is a far better father figure anyway isn't he? Sod J (I mean the dad J not baby J), he has given you enough grief already I think. What is happening with the meet up this Saturday? On or off?!

Eddas, glad you might be able to sort the carpet anyway

Pesha, hope you made it to the appointment!!

Runny, that was an early start! F decided to get up at 5.30am which is far too early for her normally. She wouldnt settle, but then drunk a bottle of milk and went back - phew!

mammyjo · 29/01/2008 13:28

Sorry, x posted a lot then!

Pesha · 29/01/2008 13:46

I have NO idea how big my living room is, sounds similar maybe slightly smaller arpet cost me around £70/80 I think but we used some old laminate underlay from dp's parents and dp fitted it Although my stairs and landing I had fitted and proper underlay and that only cost around about £125. I went to Carpet Right and IIRC they were cheaper than Allied. So you could be looking at under £200 but dont want to get your hopes up incase I'm wrong and then you'll be even more pissed off!! Worth looking around though

Right - Meet up - yesterday I suggested street or glastonbury as Oooggs wants clarks village but noone responded!

How de we feel? Is it too far for some people? Too boring? Where else could we go?

I think Ellie is definitely coming down so we are definitely ok for a meet. Oooggs are you definitely coming up this way? Octo?? Who else?

Should we start a little sw meet up thread so we can get oursleves properly organised perhaps?

mammyjo · 29/01/2008 13:49

Oh, and F is going to nursery for a couple of hours tomorrow I feel torn between guilt at her going and glad to have a couple of hours off! I have organised a couple of sessions for her over the next two weeks to settle her in before she has to go one full day a week from mid Feb. She has never really been with anyone except my parents or me and dh. I know it will probably do her good, but still feel a bit about it. She's my baby!

mammyjo · 29/01/2008 13:53

Pesha, I have no idea where clarks village is!! Would look at a route planner for anywhere you suggest and see how far away it would be for me. F is ok in the car for about an hour, but will then start screaching which is a pita when trying to concentrate and drive
