Is that good then mrm?

Frizbe · 24/01/2008 21:04

Yay for the run and aerobics MRM, I'm hurting on the back of my bum/top of legs from Tue class....was supposed to go last night too, which would have eased the pain, but ended up bbsitting instead and dh has only just got in from work today, so won't get owt done now till tomorrow.

Jas, thanks for that

and now CSWS says 6 years

DontDreamItBeIt · 24/01/2008 21:05

I'm assuming it is good from the

Ds is in dd1s old car seat, and has been since birth That is 8 yrs old.
I didn't know they were supposed to be thrown away after 6 years
It is supposed to go up o four years, but both dds were out of it by 2.5.
I was looking at this today for ds
Give me a really good reason to spend £100 more on a car seat.

OP posts:
Phoenix · 24/01/2008 21:09

Ds sleeps in the car quite often and with most high back boosters their head will just flop forward when asleep so i'm wanting one that either reclines a bit or has enough padding to hold his head up a bit iykwim

DontDreamItBeIt · 24/01/2008 21:14

Apart from the occasional long family-visiting journey, ds doesn't stay in the car long enough to sleep now, and his baby seat reclines easily so i would keep using that for long journeys I think.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/01/2008 21:23

I like to support my claims .
It is a US based article, and I'm not sure whether all UK seats have the expiry date on them, but I found it interesting when I first heard of it.

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 21:23

We don't do long journeys as such but its 20-30 mins from where both our families live, where we both work, the town we shop in mostly to our house so he does nap in the car if he's tired.

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 21:33

Forgot to say, i went to Asda today and had a look at birthday cakes while i was there, just to see what they do, and ds started going 'ah ah ah' and pointing. When i looked he had spotted an ITNG cake. So guess what cake i'll be getting him

Chloe55 · 24/01/2008 21:50

Hiya,

Sorry for being AWOL for so long, not really sure why, just been lazy I guess!!

Hope you are all well, haven't read any of the threads yet and there's too much to read back through so.......anyone any big news I need to know?

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 22:09

Bloody hell stranger How are you?

Do you know Dame's pg? I can't think of anything else.

OriginalFlame · 24/01/2008 22:12

You didn't die then MRM!!!

I am starting to feel a bit better - still achey, and very tired (yet still up ), but not so much pain iyswim.

The bed is great

Helloooooooo Chloe.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2008 22:38

Hi everyone! too many posts today!!!
Glad you're feeling better Flame.

So- any ideas for birthday cakes? (following Phoenix's comment). Was planning to make my own though (did last year) but not sure of the recipe to use...last year's was way too rich (used a Nigella one )
Having experienced quite a lot of birthdays in the past few months, dd has decided she quite likes birthday cake, so want to do her a nice one IYSWIM.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/01/2008 22:40

Hellooooo Chloe. I was only asking about you a few days ago.
Biggest news for us was dd and dh having chickenpox at new year, so nothing like the news you/we were hoping for!
How are things with dh now? Are you still ttc?

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 22:47

Do you like chocolate cake EPPM? Maybe not for dd's birthday cake but try this it's sooooooooo gorgeous

EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2008 22:51

Ooh- that looks v interesting Phoenix.. and is there anyone who doesn't like chocolate cake?

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 22:55

Yes my dh, although he's very strange as he doesn't drink ANY alcohol either

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/01/2008 22:56

dh is allergic (well, strictly speaking intolerant) to chocolate.

Just means that I will have to make one and eat it all myself .

Phoenix · 24/01/2008 22:57

It really is nice. The coke makes it so moist. That thread is in my 'threads i'm watching' in case i ever mislay the recipe

Frizbe · 24/01/2008 22:59

Oooh Phoenix, cake sounds nice

Hi Chloe how's things?

Eeeek hadn't even thought about cakes yet I'm so unprepared suppose we should sort out about a party really, which reminds me I was supposed to ring SIL back today ooopse....

Thanks for the info CSWS, Jas glad to hear I'm not the only one using an ancient seat then so we may be looking at a new one very soon then, ponders if Meridian has gotten rid of her ds's 3 year old one with no damage?

EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2008 23:07
  • phoenix- that is EXACTLY what I just did with the thread! I think its in the 'feast' book though...will go and check.
EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2008 23:19

Well, it's not in 'Feast' but there are:
Chocolate chestnut cake
Chocolate espresso cake
Chocolate fruit cake
Chocolate guiness cake
Chocolate malteser cake
Chocolate meringue truffle cake
Chocolate raspberry cake
Honey chocolate cake
Old fashioned chocolate cake
quadruple chocolate loaf cake
rococoa cake
tropical chocolate cake
and chocolate orange cake, which is the one I made for dd's 1st birthday.

  • surprised she (Nigella) isn't a little more curvy tbh
OriginalFlame · 25/01/2008 08:09

Just thought I should post an update so you don't think I've keeled over in the night or anything - aching today, but not the pain as much now. Feeling very queasy, headache and very tired. going to Psycho's after school run to collapse there for the morning t(I think that was the plan anyway )

mustrunmore · 25/01/2008 08:42

My tummy ache has miraculously disappeared
Glad you're not dead Flame.

Re the carseats.. i'm just counting down to when the boys are about 11 and can just sit on a small booster, so I have space in my cupboard again

Friz, that fwd email you sent.. am I mkissing something? The picis half off the page. Am I just being thick this morning?

I've read half a book so far this year Trust me, the way these boys sleep, thats very good going!

Slightly disappointed htat you didnt all instantly think 1.5hours exercise in one go was good for me

I have no idea what to do with the boys this morning.

Chloe55 · 25/01/2008 08:56

Morning everyone,

Sorry to hear you have been unwell Flame - what's up with you then (to save me having to trawl through past posts!)

MRM - excellent exercise

CSWS - yuck at chicken pox! Also, dh and I are good now, was just a hiccup I think, and are still TTC. Had an early miscarriage a couple of weeks ago which my body seems to be having difficulties getting over though as it is soooo bloated and I seem to be getting really bad tummyaches (more poorly tummy than menstrual pain tummy though iyswim) so wondering if it might just be a bug I have got now.

Also, I have lost a stone in 6 weeks due to the wonderful Slimming World!! Woohoo!! I am just under 11 stone now which I haven't been since my wedding in 2004

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm chocolate cake droooooooooolll

mustrunmore · 25/01/2008 09:01

Oh my God, well done for the weight loss chloe! Seriuolsy, can you give me some pointers al la slimming world?
Sorry to hear about the miscarriage. But it is great that you and dh are fine and trying

Flame has a random stomach, which has been agony. Somewhat inexplicable.
