CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2008 22:15

I think this thread might self destruct tomorrow, so I'm getting in my birthday wishes early!

Happy Birthday Neve
Happy Birthday A* (ooh - it doesn't display all the s that I put in!)

Reminds me of the thread title we had for ages last year .

I'm assuming aerotone is a little like pump, strength training to music?? Ideally, you need to aerobically exercise 3 times a week, with some strength training thrown in. This would allow you to lose weight and maintain the loss. In terms of interval training, it depends on your goals. If you are wanting to improve your fitness levels I would go for 30 mins a week, 5 min warm up then 1 min fast 1 min slow (so if I run normally at 10, I'd do 1 min at 10 then 1 min at 13) I'd do this for 10 mins then run another 5 mins at normal then another 10 mins of 1 min fast 1 min slow). I'd also vary it a bit, so after a few weeks, change the speeds to hill reps. Same idea, 5 min warm up then 1min up 1 min down (i tend to lower the pace though, and wack up the incline to maximum) I'd just add another run in addition to this, say 30-40 mins at your 5k pace. In about 6 weeks I'd increase the pace again. I'd also add, 2 x 15 squats, 2 x 15 lunges, 2 x 15 backward lunges. If you have a swiss ball 2 x 15 ham string curls. Make sure you are doing them correctly, knees behind toes for squats, and knee in line with 2nd toe for lunges. That's 4 times a week exercise. If you're not seeing results, perhaps you are not giving the body a break for long enough? try and do these on alternate days, giving yourself at least 1 day rest, particularly after an interval training day.

If you really think you are not losing weight, you need to honestly look at your energy in, energy out consumption.

Not reading maccas post as it looksvery technical

Happy birthday Neve and Boy

I think mrm has covered nursery quesions.
DS' speach is rubbish, but I'm still not considering nursery. I do talk to him alot and we see other children most days. I'm going to wait til he's 3.
I can't bring myself to leave a non-verbal child with people I don't know

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2008 08:09

Happy Birthday Neve!!!

Happy Birthday Boy!!!

We made it ! Ok, so we won't make it to UniS's little dude, but still...

Was up most of the night with a sobbing boy I think he isn't well, but no idea what is wrong. Exhausted now. Just finishing off a coffee from the petrol station (we're out of coffee and theirs is strong) and 1/2 a bowl of porridge (DS swiped the other half) in an attempt to wake enough to do hair etc!

Phoenix · 04/03/2008 09:27

Happy Birthday Neve

Happy Birthday Boy

See Jas ds has no contact with other kids at all (my fault cos i'm too stupidly scared to go to toddler group ) thats why i'm going for nursery

DontDreamItBeIt · 04/03/2008 09:30

Aah but you get to talk to adults at work. If I didn't do toddler groups I'd be relying on dp for conversation! (I'd hav been sectioned by now)

Hello, had to put my LO to bed with some calpol lastnight and he's all snotty and not quite right this morning, hoping will hold off so he's not poorly on his b'day. Likes presents thouht the floor is covered in ELC chopped up fruit and veg and everything in going into the microwave we got for him, wooden toy one to go with the cooker we already have with exciting door you can open and shut

Have a good day Neve, I'm off to tidy a bit.

Frizbe · 04/03/2008 15:08

Happy Birthday Boy Sorry he's got snot for his birthday Dame, hope he's managing to stay happy for you.
Thanks for the birthday wishes for dd2 all she's a very happy girl to find a mini trampoline in the front room this morning, her and dd1 were bouncing on it, with dd2 shouting, bounce, bounce

for nursery phoenix, sure he'll come along just fine with lots of friends to natter too and at your and CSWS's Darren Day connection.

Flame glad your not divorcing dh, there must be something in the air, but I will start another thread later and link to it, sure you and CSWS will sympathise with me!

Saw Sweeny Todd last night, isn't it fab and that cinema I linked to is lovely, seats about 100/150 at a rough guess, you can take in wine/beer, cake, sweets etc and the seats are huge, all with little drinks platforms (better than those cup holes you get at normal cinemas!) I'm feeling quite spoilt to have found such a fab venue close by even room to walk in front of the row without anyone having to get up anyway we had a lovely girls night out with Mr Todd etc and coffee in a swish coffee bar (not many of those open at night round these 'ere parts) so hurrah, sophistication!!
Have also booked tickets for dd1 and I to go to Paris for two days in June BMI baby sale, so yay should be great!

Flamesparrow · 04/03/2008 17:26

Local radio just called Council is setting up some nappy scheme and they want to interview me in a couple of weeks to find out more about cloth

mustrunmore · 04/03/2008 18:21

Thats great Flame!

Friz, just remember I saw it first, its my film, but yo are allowed to appreciate it Wanna copy ofthe soundtrack?

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/03/2008 20:02

I want a cinema like Friz's .

Who's starting the new thread then? Jas? Flame?

EachPeachPearMum · 04/03/2008 20:11

Wow Flame!!! Yay!

Friz- I went to Paris with my mum when I was 7 amd just loved it!

Dd poorly again- temp keeps shooting up, and conjunctivitis again. Not an ear infection though thank goodness- Dh managed to get her in to the drs twice this morning, as first time was just eyes, then temp rocketed.
She has alternatively howled and giggled all day strange child... I did give her the ultimate treat tonight though- a bubble bath.

Phoenix · 04/03/2008 20:36

Yay for local radio/nappy thing Flame

(((huge hugs))) Friz

for dd been ill EPPM

I'm totally confused about nurseries/playgroups, well i was til i spoke to 2 friends today. The one i'm going to look at tomorrow is a day nursery. I've found another near us that is a pre-school playgroup that takes lo's from age 2 that do 2.5 hour sessions rather than full mornings so i'm still gonna go look round the nursery tomorrow but think the playgroup is really the better option. I rang the playgroup today to make an appointment to look round and they said someone would ring me this afternoon to arrange a time but they didn't so i'll re ring tomorrow. I don't know if the playgroup have any vacancies at the mo but i think i'm gonna wait for now and put his name down to stsrt when he's 2.6 - 3 yo.

At ds' assessment yesterday they asked if we had smoke alarms which we haven't so she gave us a number to ring and the fire brigade come out and fit them for free. She said they come in the fire engine too ds will love that and i'll love sexy firemen in my house while dh is at work

EachPeachPearMum · 04/03/2008 20:54

Phoenix- we had this too. The reason they come in a tender is so they can check that streets are passable. If they're not, they get the local authority to change the parking regulations in that area IYSWIM.

Why do (some) women like men in uniform so much? I am mystified by it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/03/2008 20:56

See that would result in 'no like the bubbles' from dd EPPM, followed by 'awwwww, bubbles all gone' if I then got rid of them .

at firemen Phoenix - please take photos (on pretext of them being ds with engine obv).

Pre-school group sounds better for ds. Can we persuade you to take him to a toddler group before that, so that he gets used to other children with you around, before he is left with them without any familiar faces? They really aren't that bad (most of them anyway), and you might make some new friends too.

CantSleepWontSleep · 04/03/2008 20:57

Ah, good cross post.

Because firemen have a greasy pole you can slide down .

EachPeachPearMum · 04/03/2008 21:19

ooh-err missus!

but women seem to like other uniforms too....

We're gonna break the thread at this rate!

I take it others get 'no like it!' on a regular basis then

Phoenix · 04/03/2008 21:32

I don't get 'no like it' I get 'errrrr' with head shaking, miserable face and pointing

I really can't bring myself to walk into a toddler group It would be different if i'd have started going to one when he was born i think.

EachPeachPearMum · 04/03/2008 21:37

Okay, okay....

new thread!
