Flamesparrow · 03/03/2008 08:41

That should have been now not today

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 09:20

Flame, I've just left you a message to say the plan has changed! you're moving up here, he can work with dh doing something

Poor you csws. you know I seriously dont mind if you want to come here and have a kip if it'd help! We can take ds1 to nursery, then I'll play with the littlies in the garden for an hour or so
Thanks for offer of fitting in car. I doubt it; its 5ft by 4ft by 1ft. The 5ft side splits into 4 pieces, but the 4ft length would always be the same. Which is the bit thats too long for Dad.

My parents took me to see ghostbusters for my birthday, and all I remember is my Mum in a huff because some one said 'shit' in it

Flamesparrow · 03/03/2008 09:26

Nice plan, but I shot it down

DS is down the end of the garden playing with stones, possibly rotten apples, and a bucket. He looks so happy.

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 09:44

I just saw it. I cant believe you're putting the wellbeing of your daughter your dh and your mental health above the chance to be near me

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/03/2008 10:27

Hope things are feeling better today csws.

I've forgotten what els I wanted o say, and the thread is too big to scroll up.

I have to remember to sort out someone to collect dd2 today, so I can go and speak to dd1s teacher wihout jug-ears listening in.
She is making herself ill worrying about school work at the moment

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 03/03/2008 10:28

I feel ashamed.

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/03/2008 11:31

Why?

Or are you still talking to mrm about abandoning her in favour of you family?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 03/03/2008 11:39

Lol crossed posts! Was talking to mrm.

for your DD, she is too young to worry about school

DontDreamItBeIt · 03/03/2008 18:39

Well the good news is ha ds' worrying isn't because the school are piling on the pressure. She is doing it to herself Her teacher has suggested some options to build her confidence so I'm hoping that will help.

Have scanned but very tired so only remember for poorly csws an for various stressing at dh from people don't know what else.

Mad weekend with party saturday then family yesterday, need an early night.

Very excited, have cake, ds1's Harry potter was great but I am so chuffed with the Each Peach one which has just arrived, she has based it on the front cover and he took one look said "mines" and then "plum" and keeps running round saying plum and wanting to look at it EPPM I will talk to dh about a picture but she has put his name on it including our surname so will have to see what he says, also the whole i want to put a picture of his cake on the internet so a bunch of women I have never met can look at it could be an interesting conversation

Happy birthday neve for tomorrow, in case i don't get on

Flamesparrow · 03/03/2008 19:07

for nerves

for cake

AIBU to want just one bedtime that doesn't result in me screaming at DD to shut up?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2008 19:22

Cake pic can be sent round by email to those who know your name already, and if you want I can do some photograph editing to remove the name before sending on to EPPM.

mrm - 1ft sounds VERY shallow for a kitchen cupboard - are you sure that's right? Is there a link?

Feeling a bit better. Tummy seems to have settled (touch wood), and I haven't felt like throwing up since about 9am. So looks like it was either yesterday's lunch, or a bug that dd had and I then caught.

Dd has got her appetite back today, which is very good news.

Glad the school meeting was helpful Jas.

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 19:38

It was a wall mounted thing. Exactly what I wanted. Went for £26

I got a dresser today though, delivering on SAturday So now I need freestanding old as possible pine cupboards, over which I'm going to put worktop on its own legs IYSWIM. And wall mounted old pine cupbaords, inc corner ones. Not asking much, am I?!

EachPeachPearMum · 03/03/2008 19:39

Oh Dame- it sounds f a b u l o u s!

Could you email it? csws & flame have my email address....
Um, I don't know whereabouts you live either so I don't even know if your fabulous cake lady would make me one!!!

Am desperately trying to keep up with flame and mrm's walton household love-in but failing!!!

Jas- for dd. There does seem to be a lot of unseen pressure on children these days (news story today about children being adult too soon). Is it any wonder they put pressure on themselves and get anxious.

Feeling any better csws? And i have seen ghostbusters now!!!

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 19:42

And did you enjoy ghostbusters??!

2boysmacca · 03/03/2008 19:57

Was in your neck of the woods on Saturday Dame, in the Adventure Zone. Got very lost and a journey that should have taken 20 mins, ended up taking 90 mins!

EachPeachPearMum · 03/03/2008 19:58

well...there was too much swearing in it....for a PG!
But it was fun I suppose....if a little scary in places- I know why I didn't see it when it came out now

Phoenix · 03/03/2008 20:12

Ghostbusters 2 is better

for feeling ill csws

Hi Dame, Happy Birthday to ds incase you don't get on tomorrow

Ds has had his 2 yr assessment today, all is well except his speech which we were expecting anyway. They want to see him again in 6 month to see if it has improved if not they'll send him for a speech assessment. But hopefully it will improve cos i've finally got my arse into gear and rang a nursery to get ds in 1 morning a week. They have vacancies now and i'm going to look around on Wednesday and get info/prices etc. so if its ok i'll fill in the form and get him in I know its been done loads before but what do i look for and ask when i go?

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2008 20:24

Are we talking nursery school, or day nursery?

Phoenix · 03/03/2008 20:26

Day nursery i think, what's the difference

Phoenix · 03/03/2008 20:28

God i'm so dim . It's a day nursery definitely. Not attached to a school.

Phoenix · 03/03/2008 20:31

This is the one i'm going to look at.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/03/2008 21:05

lol - Type of Provision -- Day Nursery .
A nursery school doesn't have to be attached to a school (dd's isn't), but will take children from age 2 (or 2 yrs 6 months or 2 yrs 9 months), and will do school type hours, rather than working day type hours.

Not sure what sort of questions to ask at a day nursery, sorry, except if Lew still naps then I'd ask how they get them to sleep.

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 21:24

Find out all the basics.. top of my head...
how often nappies done?
food/drink given?
ratio of staff to kids?
structure of the time there eg rotation of toys daily/weekly? routine such as play out/ play indoor/drink/storytime etc etc?
how do they deal with upset kids/bad behaviour?
Will you have to pay extra if you're late picking up? (not thatyou will be! But that stings alot of people,eg £!5 for 15 mins late!)
Look at the kids; are they happy? Engaged? All being assisted/spoken to at some point?
Are all the adults doing something worthwhile?
Is ther ea quiet area for kids to chill out?

Erm cant think of any more at the moment.

mustrunmore · 03/03/2008 21:26

Macca.. come back.. I wanted to ask you something! Proportions of time spent per week... whats the ideal do you reckon? If I'm doing 2 x 1hr aerotone a week, and assume I can train 3 or 4 other days, how much should I just interval train and ignore speed oand distance goals, how much should I go for short and fast /long and slower?
