Have I missed everyone going to bed again?

I had a Mothercare one for our Maclaren buggy but wasn't very happy with the fit - it was a 9 to 18 months one as I thought D would outgrown 0-9 months well before the end of winter, but it kept catching the wheels etc and didn't fit it well, seemed to keep sliding a long way down and my mum and her husband weren't impressed by it! My mum's just kindly paid for a Maclaren one - ordered online from a shop near York which arrived yesterday and it does look much better.

D first woke up at 5 am today and has had lots more naps than normal though longest probably 45 minutes and while we were out of the house. He's just woken up again, though I guess that's nearly 3 hours.

morning

Eddas · 07/01/2008 08:03

morning

ds was not a good sleeper last night, sure it's teeth, bless him, but I am shattered

He was up at 11(gave milk and went back to sleep after half an hour or so) woke at 3, cry cry cry cry, not having anymore milk as i'm a mean mummy and no he didn't need it, by 3.30 I was bored of the crying so left him in his cot but he settle in a few mins(little bugger) heard him again at 4 and 5, both times re-dummyed him now he's still asleep and i'm up with dd

But at least I have dd at preschool today and work to look forward to

CaptainDyson · 07/01/2008 08:20

Morning - LOL @ new title, nice one!!

Oh dear, Eddas - hopeyou can get some rest while DD is a Pre-School - Ours doesn't start til tomorrow, gutted!

Anyway, best get into shower to wake me up - older 2 were up screaming at 6am & then they woke P up just before 7am by going into her room and shouting at her!!!!!

Deep Sigh......

Maveta · 07/01/2008 08:38

Morning, sorry you had such a rotten night Eddas and such a rude wake up Dippy!

Nice thread title..

Um.. what news, what news. Went to see The Golden Compass last night, I really liked it, thought they did it really well but I can understand why it didn't do aswell as expected at the box office, it's a bit like Lord of The Rings, if you haven't read it, you're probably left a little by the ending. Was nice to go to the cinema again though.

Otherwise, the bedtime porridge effect seems to be wearing off he wakes once a night which is fabulous compared to what it was but seeing as the first few nights he slept straight through, I worry that this is a slow slide backwards again [eek]

Noah got a couple more 3 kings presents yesterday, a ball pool and a push along train. Think the ball pool is going to be one of the most annoying, within about 3 seconds there're little plastic balls rolling all over the floor and him sitting in an empty pool

leakyR · 07/01/2008 09:27

Morning

Haven't been on for a few days as have been very busy househunting and am also feeling a bit blue

We looked at 6 houses on Saturday and are likely to do the same again this weekend. Some friends kindly looked after George so we could concentrate on looking. All quite nice but a couple in a dodgy area so they're out, 2 I could imagine us living in, but on quite a busy road - so the search continues!

G has his 2nd nursery trial today. I take him and leave him for 2 hours this afternoon. Was dreading it but as the little monster woke 6 times last night I might use the time for a cheeky snooze.

NorthernLurker · 07/01/2008 09:39

Elkie - was it Paul Stride? They are brill!
Crap night here to - B woke at 12 and didn't go back down till 2 - in bed with me as only way - did sleep till 6.40 then though - seemed to be in pain, nearly dropping off then crying.

Got to dash - back properly later

CaptainDyson · 07/01/2008 09:42

Think you are perfectly justified, Leaky! Hope you find the perfect home for you asap sweetie - keep looking and don't get too despondent - Couldn't tell you how many places DH & I looked at when buying this place. xx P has her nursery trial-run thingy tomorrow too, I know she'll be fine though - she's such a sociable wee thing.

Hi Maveta!! Beeee-yatch!!

CaptainDyson · 07/01/2008 09:43

Morning to you too, NL - sorry it was such a horrid night. xx

geordiemacminx · 07/01/2008 09:53

Sorry so many of you had rubbish nights

Leaky nice to see you - I'm sure your perfect house is out there somewhere!

Dyson - P off to nursery? Does this mean that you have a new job? Sorry I must have missed that

Octo · 07/01/2008 10:16

Crap night here too - ernie wouldn't settle at all Finally got him off at 11pm - really odd for him as he is normally a great sleeper - maybe it was astrological pmsl!

WCL - do you want to meet up on wednesday at the mall?

Octo · 07/01/2008 10:17

or anyone else btw!!!???!! Thats Cribbs Causeway Bristol if not sure what the Mall is.

elkiedee · 07/01/2008 10:18

NL, Paul Stride is the shop I bought from, they came up on Google with what I wanted in a colour that goes with the buggy - navy.

Looking forward to getting back to things here, just 8 weeks left here, and that will include leaving D with his childminder for some practice time (scary). Jolly Babies today, NCT coffee morning and shopping tomorrow, dp has an early shift and will meet us after, dp on late shift Wednesday so will be in during the morning and then dad will come and see D late afternoon to bathtime, baby singing Thursday and swimming lessons at a newly reopened pool much closer to home on Friday. Then we'll probably walk home weather permittting, and maybe look in on the deer in the park near the sports centre.

D's woken from his short nap, must go and see him.

elkiedee · 07/01/2008 11:06

The little monsters are obviously discussing on babiesnet how to keep us awake. D got up about 11.30 last night after stirring several times but did go back to sleep until 6.30 I think - he woke up about the same time as us when dp's alarm went. I had the weird experience this morning of dreaming about waking up and dealing with D and then facing the real thing. So even when the three of us are all asleep the worries about waking are intruding.

CaptainDyson · 07/01/2008 11:29

Madness - friend with big bump and 2 little ones out of the door, friend and her teenage DD in the door!! Then lunch and then off to friends for the PM - she is making us all tea so that is good!!

Nope, GMM, no job, but putting her in nursery in prep for getting one (and to have a wee break too )

right, guests to entertain .....

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 11:40

Definitely babiesnet, bad night here too, not the worst but not good!
T has just climbed the entire flight of stairs really quickly Now I need to teach him to get down again!

CaptainDyson · 07/01/2008 11:47

Backwards and v.....e.......r......y.........s......l.......o.......w..........l.............y!!

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 12:04

Hmm
not sure if I dare!

tcmummy · 07/01/2008 13:07

just zooming in to say hi.

back to work today started with a stressful meeting at 9.30am today. Brilliant

lol at babiesnet. T obviously isn't connected as he had a reasonably good night, one feed at 2.30am and then slept in until 8am! The one time he does I was counting on him as my alarm clock!

SPB - !!! at climbing stairs!!! T is still sat in one place with the occasional (accidental) bum shuffle!

Right, off to do some study while the boy's asleep.

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 13:10

tcmummy - typical! When I think "oh T will wake us at 7 at the latest, that's always when he sleeps till 9

mammyjo · 07/01/2008 14:16

Hi all. Sorry to hear so many have had crap nights. F is sleeping well just now, very glad too as I dont think I could cope with broken sleep right now.

Burst into tears this morning because I had slept late by 10 mins. I am just completely irrational and emotional. Due in work on Friday so will see how I am by mid week. May go back to gp to ask for a couple of weeks off. Just dont think I can cope with work (and I very rarely take any sick time). Every day I hope that things will be better, but they are just not Sorry everyone, hope I am not bringing you down with me.

Eddas, I have a buggy snuggle for F. Yes they are expensive, but it is so cute! It is a flowery girly one, soft and like a big sleeping bag. She is lovely and warm in it. I dont use the cosy toe that came with the pushchair as it was quite rigid. The buggy snuggle is soft and will cuddle in all around her. Zip goes right round so the top half will come off without having to remove the whole thing too - great if it warms up a bit (although not likely just now).

mammyjo · 07/01/2008 14:17

And yes, I would want to be the first one to use my new pushchair too!
