LOL at babiesnet ... maybe we should start a new website!!

I need a job .... can we start a job club?

Eddas · 07/01/2008 16:21

you can have my job

You will all be unsuprised that I did not take my new pushchair to SIL's today DH couldn't understand but am glad so many of you would've done the same!

Am definately going to look at making a buggy snuggle type doo daa rather than buying one. Have found 5 meters of zip for £3.60 on ebay which seems a good deal(will check the shops first) and i'm sure a metre of fleece material won't be too much. I do have a fleece blanket which someone bought for ds but i haven't used which i may use aswell. It's gonna be a cock-up isn't it

If we shut babiesnet down we may all get some sleep Just a thought

Mammyjo - don't even think of going into work - get yourself signed off for a week - you need to go easy on yourself right now - and that means you are NOT fit for work. The important thing is to feel good about yourself at home and with what you need to do there then your residual energy and effort goes into work - they don't get to suck all the ooomph out of you - when it's in limited supply family get what's going!
Elkie - I love Paul Stride - my bugaboo came from there and we've had car seats etc too. Very good customer service - but if you have any problems let me know and I'll duff them up for you
Octo- what sort of job?
SPB - very impressed with stair climbing - B is pulling up on everything now - thinks it's the funniest thing ever

I have to say I'm greatly comforted that you all had dire nights as well

Leaky - I feel your pain - just rang up to view a house and was told that it'll have to be a weekend because the vendor's tenants won't let the agent in at any other time! Grrrrh - so will have to be weekend after next as we're away this weekend.

Had nice trip to farm shop today - would tell you all about my lovely veg, home roast ham and home baked chocolate cake but I don't want to make you all jealous.......

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 16:49

just want a winge
I am being bitten
going to put lanisoh on one nipple and bonjela on the other
wish me luck

NorthernLurker · 07/01/2008 17:06

Good Luck - B bit me a bouple of times over Christmas - not to badly as I 'detached' in time - I threatened her with the end of bfeeding and she hasn't repeated it yet - she is pinching me though - sort of absent minded, reach out and grasp any bit of mummy and try out my pincer grip type thing - it jolly hurts!

geordiemacminx · 07/01/2008 17:13

Eddas - Ikea have lovely fleecey blankets for £3, come in lots of different colours.

SPB, it was getting to a stage where C was biting me every feed, really really sore - esp as he has 5 teeth. There were a couple of occasions when I shouted in pain and made him cry . Certainly wont miss that aspect of bf.

Well day 1 of the diet has gone well - havent fallen off the wagon yet, went to asda and spent about 30% less than I normally do and had loads more shopping... just goes to show how much money I had been wasting on crap nice things. Took C out for a walk too, up 2 very step hills - was knackered by the time I got home but hey ho.

C is actually sleeping better at the moment, touch wood, 6.30 til 7 with a dream feed around 12 so I cant complain.... its amazing what happens when you stop the little monsters from using the internet

cazboldy · 07/01/2008 17:14

i have teeth marks too!

ellie, sorry no credit, will text you later

cazboldy · 07/01/2008 17:15

Evening all.. what a b.o.r.i.n.g day at work I had today. zzzz. need some plans for the year to have things to work towards/ look forward to. Anyway, dh is off to school and N is rolling around on the floor half naked (cute!). I´ve changed my mind about the ball pool. It´s pretty fab, N sits next to it, grabs a ball, sucks on it, loses it, picks up another, sucks on it.. ad infinitum.

ok he´s demanding some attention and after not having seen him all day I really should go give him some.. back later..

x

Any job will do that pays more than childcare! May think about working from home but not sure where to start - I know there are loads of books/cards etc but want something new ...

StealthPolarBear · 07/01/2008 17:39

How on earth did /do you lot continue to feed then? I couldn't have fed like that, must be a wimp Have just managed to have a better feed, hopefully we've both learnt it's possible. GMM I think I upset T too I don't think he was biting me on purpose, just didn't realise that he was doing it, it's horrible, isn't it?
Well done on the diet GMM, but how do you stop C from logging on to babiesnet? I try with T but he sneaks off when my back's turned
Maveta, lol at the ball pool. T is like that with food. Chew bit of bread - pull urgh face - pick up identical bit and bite - pull urgh face - and so on

Octo · 07/01/2008 17:47

Maveta · 07/01/2008 18:39

runnyhabbit · 07/01/2008 19:20

Well, I've handed my notice in
Boss was lovely about it He wasn't really suprised, and he asked me if I was okay with working my notice. Felt a bit deflated with him being so damn nice - was already for an argument, lol

I hate anyone using anything of mine before I get a chance to use it - buggies, magazines, shampoo etc

Not sure how long bf will go on W def likes to have a good old chew, and is so ravenous in the morning, that he just clamps shut - ooowwww, the pain
And did I mention he's got 8 razorblades teeth?

runnyhabbit · 07/01/2008 19:22

(btw I'm 32 today, but I don't want to make a fuss)

oooggs · 07/01/2008 19:33

32 you baby you and many happy returns

PillockOfTheCommunity · 07/01/2008 19:35

not caught up yet, now off to do that, but had some good news today.

I don't know if you remember, but one of the workers at our nursery lost her baby girl, Poppy, when she was stillborn a few days after term? She'd had the cord wrapped around her neck so it was absolutely nothing wrong with the pregnancy, just one of those unpredictable tragedies

Kate is the same age as me, and knew us when M was a baby as she worked at the nursery he went to then. I've been looking at her wondering over the last few weeks, and today I was brave enough to ask her, and yes, she's pregnant! Baby is due in May, she's coping amazingly well as she accepts that there were no problems, so it is incredibly unlikely to happen again, and they have extra visits too.

I am just so pleased for her and Alex (her husband)

Well, me and dh saw The Golden Compass on Sat night, and got chinese takeaway on way home, which was very yummy,

Then yesterday we went out for Sunday lunch (again, very yummy) and then chose new bathroom tiles

Actually, you could all help me. Dh has bought me "bits" (cds, books, socks etc) but wants to buy me a big present. Do I go for something practical, a bit like this or should I go for something I wouldn't think of buying myself?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 07/01/2008 19:46

either sounds good runny, the coat is fab, and if you're honest, would you really go and buy it for yourself if it wasn't your birthday? I know whenever I go out to get something for me I come back with things for the boys instead
