Happy Birthday Runny

Good news about your friend POTC - happened to a friend of mine not long ago and she has just had a baby girl called Poppy! A tragic time but happily ever after in the end.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 07/01/2008 19:52

I have been talking to a man again
this one is normal and I've met him

The thing is, my sis bought me the new Susannah & Trinny book for Christmas, and I'm now in the process of revamping my wardrobe

(I love S&T,even though am gutted that one of my favourite pairs of jeans don't really suit mealthough reality is I've known that since I brought them home)

So I think clothes it is

(and you're right, if it wasn't my birthday, would probably buy things for the boys instead)

oooggs · 07/01/2008 19:55

is that book any good runny?

runnyhabbit · 07/01/2008 19:56

great news about the nursery worker

is it wrong to be excited about my neighbours pregnancy? she's due in about 5 weeks, and I've given her my entire maternity wardrobe. We were having a chat the other day, and she was wearing one of my oldest, comfiest maternity tops. Couldn't stop myself from telling her that I felt happy emotional seeing her wear it

runnyhabbit · 07/01/2008 20:00

It took me a while to work out which shape I actually am. In the end I stood in my underwear looking at the mirror, with dh going through the different shapes.
Once my shape was sorted, I tried different clothes on from my wardrobe, and what they said was true.
My sis is wel chuffed, because a lot of my clothes that don't really suit me, suit her!

lovely news about your friend Pillock..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUNNY! (PMSL just mistyped you as RUNT hahaha)

Dippy, where are you? Bee-YATCH!

not been bitten here for ages, but it seemed to be a problem when his last teeth came through and he´s not had any come through in about 4 months now! now seems really weird, now I´ve typed it out like that...

oooggs · 07/01/2008 20:24

Idreamofchocolate · 07/01/2008 20:34

Pillock - really lovely news about your friend. I hope it all goes fantastically well for her.

Happy Birthday Runny! Hope you're having a fab day....buy clothes, lots of them!

Well I went back to work today. Was all fine, very relaxed, my boss is lovely, but I was so about leaving S all day in nursery. Didn't want to stop hugging her this morning. She too is having very up and down sleep patterns due to colds, teeth and an ear problem. This morning her sheet had blood on it and her poor little ear was all sore where it joins her head. It must have been irritating her in the night and she had been scratching it. When I collected her from nursery it was all scabby and weeping. So off to the Drs with her tomorrow, poor wee soul. I feel like very bad guilty mummy.

Idreamofchocolate · 07/01/2008 20:35

Hmm, nice Oooggs. Sounds like it's improving though.

NorthernLurker · 07/01/2008 20:37

but IDOC - her ear would have been poorly whether you were with her or not - you must not feel guilty - what a lot of love and care for her comes out just in that short post! Hope you get on ok at docs - when are you at work next?

Idreamofchocolate · 07/01/2008 20:42

Hi NL. I know, but I still feel bad about it. Have tomorrow off, then back to work on Wednesday, so I get to spend all day with her tomorrow. She's such a good little girl, she hardly ever cries and she must have been wondering where I was today.

Getting all weepy now. Must stop.

NorthernLurker · 07/01/2008 20:44

oh don't cry or I'll start too - here have a virtual hanky............look I feel much the same about B and nursery - and I'm not going back to work yet but - they will be fine, they will love it and we -sensible mummys that we are - have picked lovely places for them to be and last but not least - work is good for us - intellectually, financially etc etc - can you say all this back to me in April please

Maveta · 07/01/2008 20:45

glad you got an appt oooggs and thanks for the info

IDOC - poor babby, sounds a bit poorly, hope she feels better soon. I fully expect the 100& mummy guilt to kick in when I have to leave N in nursery in a couple of months. I have to physically restrain myself from diving at my mum´s feet and begging her to keep looking after him. But in my maturity I realise she has her own life, goals, desires, has raised her own children "oh mammy, pleeeeeease...!"

Idreamofchocolate · 07/01/2008 20:49

Thanks NL, sniff. I know work is good for lots of reasons and the nursery is lovely (it's where Em went too), but......

All early days at the mo., it will get easier. Am very you're off til April.

Yes Maveta, mummy-guilt is a very bad thing indeed, but it's what makes us all lovely caring mummies I guess.

eandh · 07/01/2008 20:50

quick hijack - just wanted to show eddas this

for my bestest mate int he world post

oooggs · 07/01/2008 20:50

I go back in April too NL

NorthernLurker · 07/01/2008 20:51

I'm out of paid ML now though IDOC - does that make you less ?

Tea ready - may be back later

take care all!

Maveta · 07/01/2008 20:52

´tis true. that, and I want to be a martyr like my own mum

Maveta · 07/01/2008 20:54

although in a way the guilt is good, it means they love you most isn´t it a bit worse when they cry to stay [with] the person they´ve been with all day (that isn´t you?)? ds hasn´t done this yet but it won´t be long. mum only has him 3 mornings a week and he LOVES her. When we are both together you can sometimes see he is visibly torn over who he wants to be held by the most
