Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Well I managed 5 minutes on the stationary bike, I am incredibly unfit. Might try and do a bit more later. It has been outside too long though and I think is a bit rusty , it's quite hard to pedal.

Am now eating a massive salad which is probably taking care of my 5 a day for the next fortnight.

I would think beans count Jammy.

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 13:01

5 mins is a start, Sputnik. I managed 6 the other day My excuse was that C was crying, but I wasn't sorry to stop!

milkyJammy · 14/01/2008 15:54

3 miles

thisisRialifebaby · 14/01/2008 16:00

I think you can count baked beans so butter beans should be ok.

Am v tired

Also, slighty twisted my foot when I slipped on some mud (walking to the flaming gym for DSs tennis lessons, not on my proper countryside ramble) so am a bit hobbly! But if I do better on the food that's a start. Have had two biscuits, but if I syn them it'll be fine

Well done jammy & sputnik, I HATE cycling with a passion. I want a cross-trainer, because of course I need another exercise machine I won't use...

sputnik · 14/01/2008 16:07

3 miles, well done

I think this will be the week we all get into the swing of things [optimistic]

thisisRialifebaby · 15/01/2008 09:11

I did it! 24 hours without eating something unaccounted for

Beans, egg & potato for breakfast, and I'm cooking dinner tonight

Won't be exercising much, it's piddling down

milkyJammy · 15/01/2008 09:30

Yay! for Ria

Mmmm, I agree it's not looking too hot outside here - forecast says could be better this afternoon though, so might try for a walk then. Or failing that might use the dreaded exercise bike

sputnik · 15/01/2008 10:41

Well done Ria
Hmm, beans, egg and potato sounds like a nice breakfast. I'm a scrambled-egg in the morning person, how did you cook the potatoes?

Well, instead of going to the supermarket today I parked at the bottom of a very steep hill and visited my local fishmonger, greengrocer and coffee roasters, so I'm feeling doubly virtuous

I'm going to drag the exercise bike in front of the computer now and pedal while I MN, might relieve the boredom a bit.

thisisRialifebaby · 15/01/2008 10:57

hi sputnik.

I sort of dry-fry tiny cubes of potato in fry-lite, but with a lid on the frying pan or it takes forever. I fry the egg with a lid too cos then the top gets cooked without having to pour hot oil over it.

Breakfast is the only drawback to SW, if you have cereal or toast it uses part of your allowance, and I need it later in the day or I'm more likely to cheat.

sputnik · 15/01/2008 11:10

So are potatos done like that "free" then?

thisisRialifebaby · 15/01/2008 11:23

they would be free on a SW green day, and possibly WW no-count, but I'm not 100% sure about WW, might have made it up!

You can make "free" chips - I cut the chips and microwave them (covered) with a tiny bit of water for approx 7 mins, then bake them sprayed with a bit of spray oil. Yum

LardyMardyDaisy · 15/01/2008 11:25

just dropping in to say I will be joining you on here with a vengeance after Friday is over and done with. I'm actually gaining weight at the minute

have dug babyboo's backpack carrier out of the attic and plan on long spring rambles when the wether is bettera.

Well done on the weight loss and the motivation to do something about it.

Keep up the good work!!

and Sputnik, LOL at stationary bike....surely you'll get better results if you actually pedal the thing

HellHathNoFury · 15/01/2008 11:30

WW rocks

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 11:34

ww does rock I have now lost 16lbs and only have 2 more to go to have lost 10% of my body weight still want to lose a bit more after that though

sputnik · 15/01/2008 12:24

Wow Andiem 16 lbs! Think you definitely win June 07's Slimmer of the Month!

Daisy, good idea. I think I burned quite a few calories just lugging the thing in here. Managed 5 minutes, but it's hard to actually post while pedaling.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 12:42

thanks sputnik tbh if I can do it anyone can as I have the worst sweet tooth ever I do think the bf has helped as well and I have ben walking loads

sputnik · 15/01/2008 13:02

Well they say exercise is really the best way to lose weight and keep it off, I'm trying to do both.

For me the bf just makes me ravenous. I think part of that is just psychological (ie having an excuse to eat more), so I'm trying to break out of that.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 15/01/2008 13:25

I think you do need to retrain your mind I was like that and can be if I'm not careful the worst time for me is after school pick up when I am making tea for the dcs what I do now is drink loads of water and have a small snack the water fills me up and the hunger pangs go away but it took me a few weeks to really do it
now my appetite is less so it is easier

milkyJammy · 15/01/2008 15:34

3 miles again this afternoon. Had to go to Sainsburys, which is just under a mile each way the direct way, but we took an "interesting" route back. And food has been healthy so far as well - actually feel like am falling into healthy habits again instead of having to actively fight the desire to snack all the time

sputnik · 15/01/2008 16:51

Am hoping that's happening to me too gradually. I'm trying to snack on fruit if I snack.

Well done on the 3 miles Jammy. My toe is still not exactly better but seems to have survived walking around for an hour or so this morning, so tomorrow I'm going to start stair climbing again. That has always been my sure-fire weight-loss method

I'm annoyed with myself really, I lost about 3kg that way in august/september, then slacked and put it back on again. Anyway, there you go...

HellHathNoFury · 16/01/2008 09:43

I had a bad day yesterday, I exceeded my WW points by 10 points! Whoops. I put it down to comfort eating as I don't feel very well.

thisisRialifebaby · 16/01/2008 10:07

Bugger Bugger BUGGER.

Two PERFECT food days, then DH started taunting me with the suggestion of going out for breakfast (as we sometimes did before the xmas hols), so I've had white toast and butter - lots of it. But that's better than going of for a full english

I can feel a bad day coming...

HellHathNoFury · 16/01/2008 10:35

Ria!

Just pretend it didn't happen and go back to being perfect again. Never too late to turn it around!

sputnik · 16/01/2008 10:48

Ria get back on that wagon NOW

thisisRialifebaby · 16/01/2008 11:19

Back on wagon - DH being f-ing pious because he stuck to his muesli. Git. It's all his fault. He is cooking tonight though
