Go Jammy!

RiaisMaLarkin · 11/04/2008 17:59

1.74 miles today. That site is complicated though.

DKMA · 11/04/2008 19:34

It's weigh in day for me (and my bf - we ring each other every friday am!) and I have lost 4lb this week - prob because I'm on ab's and they are making me feel sick so I don't want to eat much - but I'll take what ever loss I can get
Also managed a 15 min run and 15 min xtrainer. Not forgetting my personal trainer session last night!

RiaisMaLarkin · 11/04/2008 19:57

well done DKMA

Sputnik · 11/04/2008 20:31

Well done DKMA. How was the personal trainer, did they give you any good tips?
I did 1 hour of abs and upper body exercises today.
But I have a very long way to go.

RiaisMaLarkin · 11/04/2008 20:52

blimey sputnik. That's dedication.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/04/2008 20:58

I went out for a large lunch with DH, the jamlet and the inlaws. No good for the "diet" but absolutely delicious!

RiaisMaLarkin · 11/04/2008 21:03

Jammy You blatant foodie you

We are having left over chinese (that we didn't eat last night because DH was being an arse so I went to bed).

You must get on better with your ILs then I do with mine.(not difficult).

I love that Gmap website btw, but it's v complicated. (or I am dim)

RiaisMaLarkin · 12/04/2008 09:40

Just walked 2 miles - half of it up hill!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/04/2008 13:43

Took the jamlet out for a walk. 4.25 miles quickly (1h 15m), then we stopped briefly at the market and the supermarket and then walked the last mile home more slowly (25 minutes). But still pleased with 5.25 miles - it was only meant to be a 3 mile walk!

RiaisMaLarkin · 12/04/2008 19:55

Well done jammy.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/04/2008 09:16

Sorry, I'm feeling so pleased with myself I'm going to boast about it here as well as on the "normal" thread. I just went swimming for the first time in ages and swam 32 lengths I'd gone aiming for 20, as I knew my fitness levels aren't what they once were, but once I got into it I just wanted to keep on going. I feel fab now

Sputnik · 13/04/2008 14:03

Sounds like you're both getting back in your strides

RiaisMaLarkin · 14/04/2008 17:13

No walking today, but been cleaning - cleaning is exercise!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/04/2008 18:28

Was due to walk 3 miles today, so planned to walk the 1st 3 miles home and then get on the bus. But I walked the 3 miles quicker than I thought, so rather than stand 20 mins waiting for the bus I walked the last 1.3 miles as well Feet are sore now, but I feel happy.

RiaisMaLarkin · 14/04/2008 18:49

good for you jammy

I bought a lateral thigh trainer on ebay (and have a bid on my treadmill)

No doubt I will be walking againn tomorrow.

lackaDAISYcal · 14/04/2008 18:55

jammy when is your walk thing that you are doing? Is all this walking training for that or are you just trying to get fit generally?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/04/2008 19:18

July 6th, and yes this is training for that. Hoping it will also help me get fit generally. And I know from experience a couple of years ago walking outside (especially in the countryside, which is about half the journey coming home from work) really helps with the depression.

DKMA · 14/04/2008 19:47

Oooh - everyone is getting into it now and doing really well!

Made it to the gym today - 20min run, 10min row, 20min xtrainer, 10 min wave - followed by lunges, leg lifts balancing on ball thing, quad machine, and ab stuff.

And for the first time in ages - I actually enjoyed it and didn't feel like crap afterwards!

Have noticed that when I run now - I can no longer feel my arse flapping on the back of my thighs! Which is nice!

Sputnik · 14/04/2008 19:59

LOL at the arse-flapping

Sputnik · 14/04/2008 20:04

I've been doing a leg/butt/thigh DVD for maybe 6 weeks now, and have really seen a difference. Good luck with the thigh trainer Ria.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/04/2008 20:11

And I found my pilates dvd so I can start that again

RiaisMaLarkin · 14/04/2008 20:13

I've only bought it... there will be space in the garage once the treadmill has gone

I find the country/pretty rural-ish walks help with my depression too jammy, I call it green therapy. My sis likes to be near the sea for the same reason.

Sounds pretty impressive DKMA & Sputnik.

I was watching TOTP2 tonight and I want to be able to wear jeans like Girlschool were wearing (never heard of them before, similar to Suzi Quattro I think), I have a pair in size 14 upstairs in a trunk. I used to weat them when DH & I first met... Would probably look like old mutton now.

Sputnik · 15/04/2008 09:51

Girlschool on TOTP, OMG did they have zimmer frames?
(they were before your time Ria)

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 09:55

It was from 198???, I thought they were good though
