That's ok Jammy, I'm just being brutal with myself

thisisRialifebaby · 04/01/2008 18:30

I weigh about 3000stone.
My sister made me walk along the prom in the fecking freezing north sea wind this afternoon while my DS1 nearly killed himself by scootering almost down some steps thinking they were a slipway andher DS came down a steep path and nearly shot over the top of the iron railings into the sea on his scooter.
Didn't have my pedometer on cos I wanted to go shopping! Probably not 10000 steps, but would burn about 1000 calories keeping warm and my nerves are shot to pieces.

sputnik · 04/01/2008 21:31

That's true about keeping warm. Shall I take my jumper off?

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 05/01/2008 19:54

I don't mind weighing in sputnik, but I must remember to do it first thing, before a morsel has passed my lips!

wish I'd had the pedo on today. I walked from one of of York to the other twice, the second time at breakneck speed cos I only had 10 minutes before I would have to pay anout a million quid for another hours parking. Did it with 3 mins to spare. Ache like you know what now!
Then there was 50 mins in a certain toy shop...

weigh-in of sorts - Monday!

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 06/01/2008 21:19

Ok, had a bad day food wise but it was a belated Christmas celebration at MILs today, home made quiche, mmmmmm...and just polishing of some homemade jam tart!

Anyway, I'm going to weigh in too:

I am 10st 2lbs, short term goal 9.5 stone. Long term, I'd like to be 8.5 stone like I was when I moved in with DH.

Now bearing in mind that I am only 5ft2 10st2 is more than I would like to weigh, in fact my bmi is 26, overweight apparently. but I am well aware that it isn't that fat, which is probably why I am not too shy about posting it. I'm just saying that as I don't want you to think that I am not aware of that. I really hate people who go "oh I'm so fat I really need to lose weight" as they smooth down their fawn-like legs while I sit there feeling like an elephant wanting to say "well if you're fat what does that make me you bitch!?". I don't want to be one of those people. Just so's ya know

Anyway, 11lbs to go. That would make my BMI 24 which is still the very top end of normal for my height

By the way did anyone see that supplement in the Independent "The No Diet Diet"? It's about changing various habits in your life to indirectly help you lose weight, it sets you daily goals like "no TV" or "get up an hour earlier". I can post more details if you are interested. It's a 28 step/day plan.

sputnik · 07/01/2008 10:29

That no diet diet sounds interesting Bumper, specially as I can try and watch snacking, chocolate etc but I really can't diet atm. However I'm not going to get up 1 hour earlier in the middle of January after I've already been woken a couple of times by a baby and sometimes a 3 year old.

Actually I was reading about how stress and lack of sleep can stop you from losing weight as the body reacts to them by wanting to eat more. I have noticed if the baby has one of those mega inconsolable crying fits all I want to do is grab the nearest peice of food and shove it in my gob. So I'm hoping that being aware of this might help me resist.

Also not had too great a weekend here calorie-wise, as we had rather a lot of wine on saturday night (having abstained all week), then went out for a meal with the in-laws for Greek Orthodox christmas, although I tried to show restraint! At least xmas is done and dusted now, as long as I can can steer clear of the discounted panettone they practically throw at you after xmas (one year they were actually giving them away!)

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/01/2008 11:43

Here is the website but doesn't have a lot of info. I will post the steps when I get more time.

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 11:51

I weighed in.

Lets just say when you're all swanning about in your size 8 skintight jeans and skimpy tops, I'll still be here!

Not to worry...

back later to impress you all with my commitment to exercise

sputnik · 07/01/2008 12:24

ROFL ROFL ROFL at size 8 jeans.
Sounds like you're doing well with the walking though Ria. If you do it regularly it will make a difference (well so I'm tld anyway).

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 07/01/2008 12:59

You think we'll ever be wearing skimpy tops again with these sucked-to-death norks?!

OP posts:
sputnik · 07/01/2008 13:39

Well you never know. I have a halterneck shelf support top that's quite nork enhancing, but then mine are pretty small when not bf. I certainly wouldn't write them off at your age Bumper, there's underwear out there that can help you know

milkyJammy · 07/01/2008 16:14

Well I did succomb (sp?) to temptation and had a couple of chocs earlier, but have eaten much better today on the whole. And I did just get a pear instead of some biscuits [smug], but I have to say the pile of chocolate oranges (yes a pile of them) is looking very tempting. However, I won't get anywhere if I don't exercise a bit of willpower, especially as the rain put me off going out for exercise this afternoon. (It was horrible and I had already been soaked this morning)

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 16:33

I am crunching a sour apple as I type[also smug]
I have just clocked up 5500 steps on the school run (we went the long way as baggins was crying and DH was grumpy). I feel better after the fresh air but it hasn't got any jobs done. Baggins has had a 2 hour sleep though (dropped in at my parents on the way home).

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 16:36

The kids teatime might be a challenge as I won't be eating til later - DH (thankfully) has gone out to see a man about a buffet.

they're having garlic bread with their spag bol, and toffee cheesecake...

milkyJammy · 07/01/2008 17:01

We usually eat later (DH doesn't get home until 6 or 6.30 and DD needs to eat before then) so I am normally hungry when feeding her. I'm doing her scrambled egg tonight, and it will be a challenge not to "accidentally" do far too much so I can scoff it!

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 17:07

hadn't thought of scrambled egg, might try that tomorrow

sputnik · 07/01/2008 17:16

A bit of scrambled egg on it's own probably won't hurt, just don't be tempted to have buttered toast etc with it.

If DD isn't eating with us I usually have a cup of tea and some fruit while she eats, for that very reason. I remember when I was weaning her I used to eat the leftovers, am determined not to do that this time!

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 18:35

let's not talk about leftovers

milkyJammy · 07/01/2008 19:02

Well DD had the egg, and a nearly a quarter of a bagel and I had the other quarter and a bit, leaving half a bagel in the bread bin, so not so bad for a very hungry mummy?

DaisyBoo · 07/01/2008 19:34

Are you all over here then? Someone talk to me....pleeeeeeeese

I've now figured out that this is the re-vamped June Mummies want flat tummies thread.

I definately want to lose weight (ideally three stone to get me back to pre DS weight, but will settle for two (she says glibly)) so will pop in here as well, and to that end I actually got the exercise mat out and did some core stability exercises this morning.....since then I've eaten more than half a 400g bar of galaxy that I got for Christmas. It's the last of the Christmas choccy so I can't see me improving till it's gone, although I have had 5 portions of veg and one of fruit today

DaisyBoo · 07/01/2008 19:35

talking of leftovers, I know someone who lost three stone, by only eating the kids leftovers.....nothing else.

might try it

milkyJammy · 07/01/2008 21:31

Have had fruit for pudding, but I really fancy cake or biscuits Am trying to be strong but it is very hard, especially as DH is sitting munching bagels with roule cheese which smell yummy and are making me hungry

thisisRialifebaby · 07/01/2008 22:17

bollocks, tomorrow's another day,

although there might be birthday cake...

LardyMardyDaisy · 07/01/2008 22:22

Hey Ria

long time no parlez!

I love your FB photos of Baggins at Christmas, especially the one with him zonked out.
