Piss off DKMA!

Actually I am just jealous, I don't have the money to join a gym with a creche or the time to go to one that doesn't. I would love to go otherwise.

Well done you - and I bet you aren't a fat arse though!

Well DH and the jamlet went out on their Sunday afternoon father-daughter bonding/let's give the mummy a break session (aka going bargain hunting at Waitrose). And before I jumped in the bath for a long, peaceful soak I shoved all the toys to one side and did 8 minutes of stretching and abs work Not much, but I was obviously worn out from the effort of instructing DH NOT to buy me cheap cake! And while I was in the bath I started thinking about all the exercise I did pre-pregnancy and how much I miss it...

DKMA · 06/04/2008 16:55

Only managed a 20 min run on the treadmill today! but am quite impressed that I can now run for 20 mins non stop and my heart rate stays below 160!
Spent the rest of my allocated gym time sorting out a personal trainer for a session once a week.............I know I'm sounding a bit like a footballers wife - so yet again - feel free to tell me to piss off!!!!
I mean business though! I am going to get back into shape! I've lost 2 stone so far and am aiming for another 1st 5lbs before July - that way it will have taken me 12 months to shed 3.5 st..........
BRING IT ON!

RiaisMaLarkin · 06/04/2008 18:38

I am shamed. I have not and do not intend to do todays abs exercises.

I have been shoe shopping (again) and visited the ILs. Surely I have suffered enough?

But I have got a new bra that fits properly so only have one chest which is two foot wider than it was

Tomorrow I will make more effort.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/04/2008 18:43

Can I be smug and report that not only did I do a 2.5 mile/40 minute walk in my lunch break, I ignored the delicious looking choccie bickies in the work kitchen, ignored the chocolate machine and got a diet coke instead, and resisted making a huge sandwich when I got in from work but did some chores and 10 minutes of stretching and abs exercises instead?

RiaisMaLarkin · 07/04/2008 19:08

show off!

I am sadly lacking again

DKMA · 07/04/2008 19:50

Managed a session in the gym in between an appointment and a conf call!
20min run, 5 min rower, 20 min xtrainer.
Going to have a break from the gym tomorrow and try and ride the horse in the evening instead!

RiaisMaLarkin · 08/04/2008 20:22

sorry bumper, haven't managed it again

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/04/2008 10:35

Another 2.5 mile walk. Was meant to be 3 but the jamlet was howling so cut it short.

Am though that the creches at the local swimming pool are not open at the times of any of the classes I'd like to do. Very frustrating.

RiaisMaLarkin · 09/04/2008 14:09

I walked to school and back

wel done jammy.

I am cleaning like a maniac though...

Sputnik · 09/04/2008 16:26

Just checking in here too.
Well done DKMA on the 2 stone you've lost, that's amazing.

Jammy, good for you for getting started again. Ria, dust off that pedometer

Bumper, you can't just start these things and piss off, you know

Re abs exercises, I actually have a 3 DVD set of the darn things, I've been doing them 3 times a week for maybe 5 or 6 weeks and have got to level 2. While I have noticed a difference in that everything is pulled in a bit more (and my core/back is feeling much better) I still have a great wodge of fat sitting over my belly and serious muffin issues. I think basically that ivillage link Ria posted has it right, and you need fat burning strategies to really sort it out. Also that there's no point in doing the same exercise every day (good news there then)

Anyway, not had a great start to the week, as feeling seriously tired for some reason and that makes me eat, but back on track today (so far anyway).

DKMA · 09/04/2008 19:30

Didn't get to gym today
Been to GP instead.........have throat infection, and possible gall stones what next eh? Added to the low iron and underactive thyroid - I feel like my wheels are falling off!!

lackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2008 21:09

ok ladies, I'm here to make you all feel a little bit better by telling you how much weight I'm gaining over the next few months

so far I've put on about three pounds (just as it was starting to come off too ) and have eaten my DDs weight in chocolate over the easter break!

i bought davina's pre and post pregnancy workout DVD four weeksa go. It's still in the cellophane , but in my defence we have been away

Can i be your Mrs Motivator? Can I? purlease

......right ladies get those asses off the sofa and GET MOVING.

I'd be good at it

lackaDAISYcal · 09/04/2008 21:10

oh, DKMA i didn't even read your post . sorry to hear your feeling crap, and I hope it's not gallstones. Norty has them, so she could maybe offer some advice?

Sputnik · 09/04/2008 21:41

That's a bugger DKMA.

Daisy you can be our official whip-cracker

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/04/2008 06:47

Sorry to hear your news there DKMA.I'm very because I've lost my badgerwoman pilates DVD. I have my pregnancy one (also still in it's cellophane ) but want my tried and trusted pilates workout to help get me better toned. Bugger!

lackaDAISYcal · 10/04/2008 09:32

This is me

RiaisMaLarkin · 10/04/2008 11:30

LOL daisy. I am Mavis the Fat Fairy.

I have just been for a 20/25 min walk with baggnid round the bottom lane. It is lovely weather and my thighs are tingling.

Still not done any abs work though

RiaisMaLarkin · 10/04/2008 13:25

Just walked to school and back to work at luchtime.

I'll be bedridden tomorrow

Sputnik · 10/04/2008 13:37

Go Ria!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/04/2008 15:00

Well I walked another 2.5 miles with my inlaws and the jamlet this morning

RiaisMaLarkin · 10/04/2008 15:01

well done jammy

I have "misplaced" my pedo. That is why I don't tidy up very often.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 10/04/2008 15:09

You don't need a pedometer Ria - go here (click on other options to get UK maps) and work out how far any journey is

RiaisMaLarkin · 10/04/2008 15:36

The return journey was 1.32 miles jammy. It took me nearly as long as my walk to work out that website
