Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Divastrop · 22/01/2008 17:40

i was forced to buy a new bra on sunday due to boobs having grown and i got a really nice one in debenhams which fits and pushes them up.dh has been talking to them all day though.
ha,he might get some intelligent conversation that way.

yes, where are kitty and foxy?is there a full moon contentious thread i dont know about?

kiwibella · 22/01/2008 19:23

Diva!! I couldn't believe that hubs got me underwear for Christmas which was a cup size smaller than I usually wear - when he asked the sales lady what the difference was, she told him that it depended on how much he wanted to see .

The moon looks stunning tonight. I'm sure it is even more spectacular out of this polluted city.

ReverseThePolarity · 22/01/2008 19:48

Hello all, just popping in for a quick one.

Roof is fixed at the grand cost of £60! Seriously! And a proper roofer too! So that is a huge relief and thanks to everyone for advice on t'other thread.

Job is boring as hell but also very easy and totally stress-free so I can't complain. Expressing in work going okay-ish, only get a few ounces but it stops me bursting.

Weaning... have you tried a Doidy cup? Bertie loves his & has all his fluids (inc. soup & smoothie) in it when I'm away.

Er, hi everyone else, gotta go now & have tea!!

muppetisacat · 22/01/2008 20:12

We have a doidy cup somewhere - might have to dig it out and give it a try...

...only the best knickers for me today... had a smear test - didn't want the nurse to see my grotty ones

bethoo · 22/01/2008 22:14

muppet - LOL, saying that i also make sure i have just shavved! wtf is that all about???!!

spicemonster · 22/01/2008 22:20

bethoo - that is about you showing that you can still get jiggy with it, even if you do have a baby

Thank the lord I'm not working tomorrow. It's not the work that's hard (it's easy) it's the getting us up and out and on the tube that's knackering. I can deal with the 6.30 wake ups if I can lounge in bed with the baby for an hour

Haven't read whole thread - have been reading amusing bust ups between buyer/seller boards and rest of MN

ps how come so many of you are kiwis?! Coincidence or spooky karma stuff ... ?!

bethoo · 23/01/2008 10:56

spicemonster- hwat other blow ups on buying and selling? i love spying on the arguements as some can be funny. call me sick!!

spicemonster · 23/01/2008 11:01

bethoo - this was the one that started the ruck - it went on in site stuff and chat too I think. Was quite major

linky

bethoo · 23/01/2008 11:45

Spicemonster - wtf was that about?? stil confused to be honest. argueing over nothing! so i gather that Aitch just made a comment that Jamiesmum should have put waht she was selling in the thread title?

Divastrop · 23/01/2008 12:08

lol@that thread.i take it netmums dont have for sale boards and thats why the huns try and sell their knock-off gear on here

the only time ive ventured onto the for sale boads was when i forgot to customise active convos after a clean-up and i spotted a mclaren twin buggy for sale.it was being sold by a 'normal' regular and was a straighforward transaction though(best double buggy ive ever had!).

that babywas awake from 11.30 till 2ish last night, then up properly at 5.45am.and still the fecking teeth arent through.

hello to everyone

Rosylily · 23/01/2008 12:36

I hope they don't get rid of the for sale bit, I am endlessly entertained by the teasing and hurling of abuse that goes on there
Anyway I got a couple of bargains in there, a footmuff and then a lovely nine west leather handbag for £9!

Oh I'm knackered today. Too many wakings. Dh is here annoying me too! It's dd's birthday on Friday and ds1 confirmation, I'm stressed out (again) I'm not used to all this excitement.

kiwibella · 23/01/2008 13:26

yay Rosy... special occassions coming up for your family!!

We are having lots of night wakings also, Diva. It's cruel. I hate sleeping during the day... feel worse when I wake.

Glad the roof got sorted and didn't cost you too much Mossy.

Spice... there are loads of antipodeans over here . We all seem to come over at some point. Likewise, it's a popular place to holiday - just a bloody long way to go.

spicemonster · 23/01/2008 14:52

kiwi - I meant on this thread! I know there's loads of you in London - I'm surprised there's anyone left in Oz and NZ between the ages of 20-35 tbh

I only bought one thing on for sale and it never arrived but paid via paypal so got my money back. Someone's started another thread I see saying that they got an empty box from the same person so they're obviously a scammer. I think the rows between the hardcore MNers and the huns are hilarious - one of my favourite things about MN so I wouldn't want them to get rid of them either.

bethoo · 23/01/2008 15:06

what is a hun?

Rosylily · 23/01/2008 16:29

Bethoo, the culture on the for sale boards is that they call each other 'hun' alot and they use alot of text speak and that offends some of mumsnet and so they go onto the threads and cause trouble and call them huns who respond like a script from a catherine tate sketch and it is generally a hoot .
There's a whole thread discussing a new format for the for sale section....Mumsnet will be a duller place without the huns. sigh

muppetisacat · 23/01/2008 17:04

I too was completely unaware of the whole politics about the for sale threads! What a revelation ... very amusing!

bethoo · 23/01/2008 17:08

i knew it!! just knew it!!! sorry just watched Hollyoaks and turns out Justin is the father! i knew it all along!!! sorry for those who do not watch it! just got no one else to tell!!

Piffle · 23/01/2008 17:09

spice me and kiwi are older

fitfox · 23/01/2008 17:25

Hi everyone

I'm such a wimp and cannot keep up with you all

I had no inkling of the langauge on the for sale threads - I must go and have a nosey

Rosy - my DS1 has his holy communion this year. Are you Catholics then? Has he had to go to loads of classes?

Monti is still having a feedathon each night. Someone has lent me the "no cry sleep solution" book, or some such titel. trouble is I am too knackered to read it LOL!!

Hope everyone is well

Have I missed any juicy gossip over the last few days then?

Polar - how is work - are you managing to express OK? I lurve my little Expresso breaks. I also love whispering to colleagues, "just going for a squirt!"

Talking of which I must get my pelvic floor sorted. I went to a Total Cardio clas yesterday and had to stop as I was in dire danger of peeing myself. The trainer kept asking if I was OK and I just couldn't confess to him I was about to we my pants if I jept running on the treadmill. I want an operation which will give me the vagina of a 16 yr old virgin

TheBlonde · 23/01/2008 17:27

bethoo - not watched hollyoaks for ages but thanks for the update, does J know?

I think for sale needs to change, there seem to be a lot of scammers

bethoo · 23/01/2008 17:40

TheBlonde- i rarely watch it but caught it as nothing else on! Justin does not know yet as it turns out that baby has leukimia and jake says take my blood to see if i am a donot then doc comes oin to say he cant donate and jake says why and doc says you are not biological father! he is a tit anyway turnign into psycho boyf.

evenhope · 23/01/2008 18:52

foxy a man with a clipboard blundered into my expressing break today I had been putting a chair behind the door but hadn't been disturbed so stopped bothering. Think he was more embarrassed than I was.

(I've put a BIG note on the door saying if the Engaged sign is on don't come in)

fitfox · 23/01/2008 19:16

Evenhope!!! Glad he was suitably embarassed!! Poor you.

Divastrop · 23/01/2008 21:06

rosy-in my day your confiramation was an excuse for a big piss-up(depsite the fact my friends and i were only 14 at the time).actually, most events in the catholic church were an excuse for a piss up from what i rememeber

bethoo-have you ever ventured onto netmums?that is a site full of 'huns' who greet each other with 'hi guys'(sorry rosy)and have fluffy, glittery signatures, and who think that MNers are vulgar, opinionated women

where is kitty?anyone heard from her?she normally says hi even when shes too busy to catch up.

Divastrop · 23/01/2008 21:08

just read that post back.i didnt mean to follow 'opinionated women' with 'wheres kitty?'.that sounds awful!
