Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rosylily · 18/01/2008 12:10

Oh yeah, I googled it and I am a fellow sufferer, athletes foot is a type of ringworm...lovely.

Hasan isn't well. He is hot and whinging.

Moan, moan moan....

bethoo · 18/01/2008 12:11

Rosy - could be teething! i put everything to teething!!!

Rosylily · 18/01/2008 12:12

yeah, probably is teething...

Divastrop · 18/01/2008 13:41

i have permanent athletes foot

kiwibella · 18/01/2008 14:46

me too Diva - just on one of my little toes!!

Muppet... poor you, that sounds like a serious bruise. I am surprised but pleased to learn that ringworm is a form of athletes foot. I remember when MissE was young and told her grandmother she had it on her chest and she looked at her like she was diseased. She still seems to have a shadow of it but the doctor thinks I am mad when I point it out. In fact, one of them suggested it was the rubbing of her bra .

Are you drinking enough water Rosy? You have had your headache for a few days now.

muppetisacat · 18/01/2008 16:51

well i'm going to call mine athlete's hip then!

ReverseThePolarity · 18/01/2008 20:57

Evenin' all.

Wellllllllll I'm back at work, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. It's a dead easy bog standard basic admin job though, just typing, filing, photocopying etc. Really brain-free stuff so not difficult, just very boring. But it's nice because I come home in the evenings and I don't spend one moment thinking about it, totally stress free.

And I miss Bertie like mad, I have found myself going in the toilet for a cry on more than one occasion, but he is happy as Larry at mil's (except he has decided not to have naps properly any more ) and really happy when he comes back.

I can only express about 2 oz in work, so then I express another oz in the evening and he makes up for the rest with foods, water and fruit smoothie! Oh and he bfs 1x morning, 2x evening 100000000x night. I'm sure that daytime 3 oz makes bugger all difference but it makes me feel like I'm doing something for him iyswim.

Have had a read through your messages but it's all gone out of my mind a bit now!

Piffle who the hell would steal your things when you were helping someone? And Tescos really ought to have given you your shopping for free. I bet Asda would've done ! You poor thing. If there's any justice, right now you should be due a lottery win.

Kiwibella glad the book is helping, ikwym about the writing style though, it's a bit home baked apple pie and thanksgiving turkey isn't it! But she does make a lot of sense.

Muppet sorry to hear about your athelete's hip, hope it gets better soon.

Bethoo - maybe you need to decide once and for all whether or not you want xp in your life. And if you don't, you might have to think about ditching him full stop, as in some ways still sleeping with him leads him on a bit so it's no wonder he's a bit confused and is pulling the emotional blackmail. Could you see yourself still with him in say five years time?

Diva what is the diagnosis then, if you're not pregnant?

Rosy sorry Hasan's winging. Hope he's back to sparkling form soon.

Eids nice to hear from you again and lovely pics! Good luck on your trip round the world comp!

Callie how are you finding work?

Leo, for night feeds, do you feed both at the same time? Or do you have to feed one at a time!?

Well, I'm off to chat to a few people on facebook and then off to bed for a nice snuggle with Bertie. It's a bit knackering, co-sleeping, but it makes me feel closer to Bertie after a long day away.

morocco · 18/01/2008 21:11

thanks mossie, you should do a weekly digest
at scuzzie person stealing cards pif, and tescos are well tight not to let you pay later
glad job is ok, mossie. i want one of those jobs you don't take home with you too, glad bertie likes it at his grans
no news here at all, bumbling along, major separation anxiety, that's all, v boring

LunarSea · 18/01/2008 21:18

[sympathy emoticon] (we ought to have one of those) to all those suffering from vaiou ailments and/or sleepless/whingy babies at the moment. We're actually coping surprisingly well here considering dh has been away all week again - everyone fed and clothed AND the house if anything marginally tidier than it was a week ago (which roughly translates as still a tip but at least you can walk around without falling over/standing on ds1's posessions).

I had lunch with some friends the other day and deliberately ordered something with chips so Toby could have some. Once they'd cooled down enough for him I asked him if he wanted a chip, and he replied, as clear as you like, "No, bread" (i.e my baguette, which he then made a grab for). It was probably just a fluke as I've not heard him say "no" before or since, but it sounded so much like he was actually answering the question we were all laughing at him.

And then today going round the supermarket he was happily waving around a packet of rolls and telling all and sundry it was "a bread". Eventually had to take them off him at the checkout so I could pay for them, and he promptly grabs the pack of Petit Filous off the conveyor and informs the checkout operator that it's "a yog"

Why do both my boys seem to be obsessed with food? ds1's first recognisable attempt at a word was "hungry" (which came out more like nnn-gree") which he'd repeat over and over again while trying to climb into his high chair.

Divastrop · 18/01/2008 23:01

-lunar,bless,that is so cute!

Elsie has also learnt some new words, such as 'bath' which she said over and over when we got home from asda cafe yesterday, and 'there' which she has said a few times when handing me something.she has also learnt to point.and have almighty hissy fits if i give dd2 some chocolate and not her.shes great.

mossy-glad work went well.i like the way you say 'easy' admin job-yeah,easy if you know how to type, file and photocopy.i would find a job like that very difficult!
im sure it will get easier leaving bertie(says i who cant bear the thought of putting my 2 year old in pre school yet).

fitfox · 18/01/2008 23:45

Hi Babes

Ooh I can't keep up - will read posts tomorrow - just wanted to ask how is work for all those who are returning?

I love it and can't believe I actually get paid to sit on my arse all day!!

Hope its OK for those who have gone back

...Catch up tomorrow

fitfox · 18/01/2008 23:53

OK have managed to read 2 posts

Lunar I'm sure that boy is gifted!! He is amazing!

Polar - If its any consolation, I express about 8 oz a day at work but Monti only drinks about 3oz of that. He now does most of his milk feeds at night . Sometimes he drinks none of my milk at the CM/with DH.

He has been drinking it this week, but only 'cos we have put Daktarin Orange Otral gel on the teat (I have breast thrush) , but he doesn't like it "straight" form the bottle furing the day and even on the days I BF, he only has a "quickie" drink.

How many hours are you working.

I have got to go on a 2 day awayday in Feb and am getting all worked up about it (missing Monti/missing feeding him etc etc etc ad infinitum)

Have got a new lodger BTW - a civilised human being female

kittywise · 19/01/2008 07:51

Wow lunar, that's amazing. I think ds2 said his first word at about 10 months-juice. His first sentence was " I want sweeties" .
Ronnie is still at the ba, ba, da, da, mum, mum stage and STILL not a tooth in sight

Mossy. glad the job is ok, it must be nice to get out of the house and just do something that is not looking after babies, and to be able to do things like go to the loo and undo trousers with 2 hands .

Foxy, hope your new lodger works out ok
right 5 kids round me now, time to go.

Piffle · 19/01/2008 11:04

we spent last night celebrating the imminent arrival of tooth number 7
It needed a mummy cuddle every hour
Am paracetamoling him tonight, for the glint of 3 hrs sleep...
Finn has words for his bear (comfort sleep thing) and ummm for Emmy (dd) and Ma for Max (ds1) and mama and dada. He has something for water but it's not water
and ball as well...
he can say ta ta when giving things as well.
The walking thing is giving me the shits now, he took 4 steps across to ds1 last night steady as you like
nooooooooooooooooooooooo

kittywise · 19/01/2008 11:05

Piffle, walking, crawling makes no difference really!!

ReverseThePolarity · 19/01/2008 11:06

Kitty, yes, there is a silver lining. I get to go to the loo on my own, and I can make a brew using both hands and not worrying about a baby grabbing my cup.

Foxy sorry to hear about the thrush. Bertie drinks every drop of milk, but it is from a cup so I wonder if that makes any difference? Maybe a bottle is just a bit too much like a boob and Monti thinks, "hang on, where's the real boob?" Sorry to hear about your meeting away, sounds awful!

Was going to respond to everyone else but Bertie has just woken up he's only been down for ten minutes! What's with that??

ReverseThePolarity · 19/01/2008 11:24

He's gone back to sleep!

Diva lol @ Elsie kicking off over chocolate!!

Piffle it won't be long before Finn's running off all over the place!

Lunar, Toby sure is clever! Do you tell him lots of words for things then and he picks them up quickly? I should start giving Bertie the names for things more really.

Well, still no crawling here but Bertie can stand for short periods unaided. He is trying to pull up from a sitting position, and if helped, can cruise around a little, so I wonder if he may go straight to walking? Put him on his front to crawl and he gets back to sitting immediately.

kittywise · 19/01/2008 11:38

mossy, ds1 didn't crawl, went straight to walking so bertie might well. One day you'll turn around and he'll be right behind you!!

Rosylily · 19/01/2008 11:55

Lunar Toby's speech is brilliant! I am not noticing Hasan saying much but he does say Hi and Hiya to people which is really cute.

Reverssy glad the work is going well

hasan is burning up
I'm still not coping well. Parts of the house are in squalor really.

kittywise · 19/01/2008 14:49

Rosy, what do you mean by "not coping"? Do you think you could have a touch of depression?

Divastrop · 19/01/2008 17:03

rosy-dont worry about the house, you need to look after yourself.as long as its not falling down then im sure you can all live in it.(thats what i tell myself when i see beetles coming out from behind the sofa).

i had a good day yesterday but today was crappy.ds2 has been constantly whinging.i took them to the park and on the way out he tried to take the buggy off me and i nearly lost control of it down a hill.then he laughed.i was so that i didnt speak to him for ages after.
also,i went in the toliets in town to change the babies bums and there was a total pfb taking up the baby change room, she took 10 minutes to change a baby of about 4 months.ds2 was being a pain and Elsie was crying,i was getting narky and shouting at ds2...and this woman was saying to her baby 'oh i know, you're getting upset, you dont like the shouting do you?'.i said(loudly)to dd1,'how bloody long does it take to change one baby?i could have changed about 15 in this time!'.

i still have that pain and now it seems af is starting-even though its only 19 days since the last one.

sorry im always moaning.hope everyone else has had a nice saturday

Rosylily · 19/01/2008 17:06

Kitty I think I'm exhausted and stressed out. I have symptoms of depression but I don't feel as if I am, I just don't get a break and these headaches wipe me out.

I feel a bit better now because I've managed some washing, shopping and cleaning but I'm whacked and aching. Everything is a huge struggle. The most simple things feel like a mountain to climb.
I'm going to the doctor about all the headaches on monday.
I think I am drinking enough.
I'll maybe feel better tomorrow.

Rosylily · 19/01/2008 17:10

Hi diva, yeah my neighbour was worried that my screaming brat child was scaring her little prince

I usually put up with the mess but it had got really really bad.

Rosylily · 19/01/2008 17:25

He's not scared though, he always gazes longingly out of his window at the crazy wild children playing next door

LunarSea · 19/01/2008 19:53

Mossy (not used to new name yet) - Toby has bread every evening while we have our meal, and yoghurt for dessert most days, and I always tell him what they are when he has them, so I guess it's just down to him hearing those particular words a lot and then recognising them when he sees them.
