Rosy -after all the tests hopefully you will be a good as new very shortly

Rosylily · 21/01/2008 14:51

Yeah, I'm not feeling too sorry for myself though, I don't think any mummy has it easy to be honest.
I'm not in as much dicomfort as you Piffle, I really hope you get some relief from that it sounds awful.

evenhope · 21/01/2008 15:38

kiwi we are flying into Wellington, where the first wedding is (Upper Hutt) and back out of Auckland, where the second one is. We have requested a cot but they say it depends how many babies there are on the day- youngest get priority. Not very clear on what constitutes an "infant meal" because they say they won't heat up our own food (but would bottles, so where is the logic?)

Rosy sorry to hear you aren't well. At least your doc is taking it seriously.

Piffle my DD is also teething as well as her bronchiolitis so is coughing all night and not sleeping. BF has been quite painful for the last few days and she seems to have 2 or 3 new teeth.

Piffle · 21/01/2008 17:53

Kiwi and I have been discussing Upper Hutt ooh where in the Hutt is it evenhope? I grew up there (don't let that put you off)
My youngest brother loves Dorkland best of all
I don't

Reversethepolarity (Mossy?????)!
when they were tiny I would feed one at night then wake the other up. only fed both at the same time at night if the both woke up a the same time and both needed feeding. One has always been a better sleeper than the other so I started only feeding the one that woke up. They are quite big now and I prefer to feed them separately anyway. I like the individual time, although if I need to I do still tandem feed. (was that the question ???)

Piff the wedding is at Harcourt Park with the reception at Staglands. Apparently it's also the weekend for the Karapodi classic bike race in the same place/ area, so should be entertaining..

Divastrop · 21/01/2008 21:33

evenhope-the pain is on my right side.its still there but not getting any worse.i thought af was starting but nothing is happening now

rosy-are there any alternative remedies you could take for migranes?i was put on bete-blockers for high BP when expecting ds2 and i was more away with the fairies than normal.i fell asleep on the bus to the hospital and somehow managed to knock the emergency door handle so it opened and the alarm went off.
i asked for different medication when i got there.

i have to see the doctor again this week to get my blood results and see if theres owt wrong or im just destined to be a fat cow

Elsie is teething again- i can see white at the top now,she is dribbly and unsettled and doing strange poos.dd2 has been whingy, clingy and slightly violent today.i hope shes not coming down with something again.

Piffle · 21/01/2008 21:37

Oh staglands!!!! Memory kick !!! Used to have dog shows at harcourt park too. Fab venue! Am soooooo jealous . Amie it's Finns 7th as well and it has been awful. Off his food. Refusing boobs too. Nightmare. Well have rested most of day where poss have pushed Hoover round and cooked nice dinner. But that's all. Feel way better so there lies answer. Am going to employ cleaner for a month I think to help recovery. Crikey Leo well done on the feeding. You sound so sorted and competent .

spongecake · 21/01/2008 21:43

hi everyone, have had no time to look at threads below but will catch up shortly. hope all ok, and feel better soon if ll and of course get some sleep.

my dad is home after his op and now just has to put weight on in prep for his bypass. my mum is exhausted and am worried about her as well. sometimes wish we lived nearer.

ds wakes up loads (dh says he feels like he has been clubbing all night without the fun) so kept him awake today -he cried with tiredness so feel like awful mummy. really need some help with weaning off breast and getting him to sleep- no one at baby group or friends bf so have no useful advice my mum says he will carry on til i stop him. have visions of lazy teenager JOKE

kiwibella · 21/01/2008 22:51

I also know both those venues Evenhope!! I used to teach in Upper Hutt. It really is a beautiful area - very picturesque. Just don't look too closely at the locals .

Make sure you go to the museum Te Papa in Wellington. We got married on the Maori marae there. Actually, walk along the Parade too - and be sure to stop at Parade Cafe. OMG, I'm salivating reminiscing.

Sending lots of wishes to your parents Spongey.

Get a cleaner Piffle!! Take care of you.

Hope you get some answers to your woes Diva. You too Rosy - interesting link with depression / migraines.

Happy birthday Callie x x

Piffle · 22/01/2008 08:22

kiwiw what years did you teach at Ferg Int?
My lil bro went there (long before you taught I would assume)

Piffle · 22/01/2008 08:27

and have a pint of Guinness for me at Molly Malones in Courtenay Place

AmieR · 22/01/2008 08:28

This morning, I feel very peculiar. If I hadn't had a period a week and a half ago, I'd think I was pregnant! I know I still could be... but what are the chances?

Joe was more settled last night, but more mizzy this morning.

My Brother is travelling round New Zealand at the moment, I'm very jealous.

bethoo · 22/01/2008 09:37

Callie - belated happy birthday.
Spongecake- you are doing the best you can in the circumstances (you living far from parents) hugs

good mornign to everyoen with their grizzly teethng babies. Hauden has 9, i thought that thetop tooth on his right was one tooth but it appears tobe two, the closest one to his top middle teeth is growinghte wrong way, it appears to be faceing the side if you knwo what i mean! i hope his big teeth are not like that as i see braces in his future otherwise!!

muppetisacat · 22/01/2008 11:06

no tips from me sponge regarding weaning - Samuel refuses to take milk from bottle/cup/tippy... anything other than a nipple.

My other 2 were the same but i confronted it much earlier. I had to withold milk and it was a battle of wills ... don't much feel up to doing that at the mo so it'll have to be me for a while longer.

If anyone has any alternative ideas i'd be desperate to hear them

Piffle · 22/01/2008 11:22

Ha
I've been offering Finn a bottle for nearly 10 mths he loves to chew it, but will not drink out of it!
He loves open cups, we use Avent bottle lids or something like a doidy cup would be good too. we use spouted beakers too which he sometiems drinks but then spits out again, so we save that one for water.

Ok got tough last night...
Finn great to self settle, he knows when I say na -nyes that's it form me.
So after the great food strike yesterday I dream fed him at 9 and 11pm to catch him up
He then woke at 11.30 so I went in kissed and set him back down again with firm na nyes - cue 2 mins of cooing moaning then silencel then 12.30 he woke again
Did the same again.
Never heard a peep til 7
Felt mean but desperate at the time
thought no firgging way is he not eating daytiem and catching up at night = Massive Rod for my back!

bethoo · 22/01/2008 11:23

would just denying your child the boob not work or is that wrong? sometimes when Hayden is hangin on for dear life just t=fot hte sake of it and i manage to pull my nip out from between his clamped teeth, when he tries again i just say no. i find he tends ot bite when he is not actually drinking. he tends ot have big feed in mornig and just before bedtime.
how about just cutting down how many times you feed him?
sponge- have you tried a cup? i find that when i drink somethign he watns to try it too so he ends up drinking out of mugs and little bottles (innocent smoothies!!)

TheBlonde · 22/01/2008 11:28

hi all

sponge - re weaning I just offered mine a bottle and they were reasonably happy to take it. I found the teat mattered... avent were too hard so used mam in the end (on avent bottles)
DD will happy suck water from a basic tommee tippee cup too

Rosylily · 22/01/2008 12:09

Muppet, snap!
No other ideas from me either, but I am getting sick of all the breast feeding at the moment.

ds2 says macca pacca has a willie

muppetisacat · 22/01/2008 12:17

Rosy I expect he keeps it very clean what with all the washing he seems to do...

kiwibella · 22/01/2008 15:06

Piff... 2000 - end 2003. I only went to Uni as an adult student .

Glad you had a good night with Finn. I hope that you feel a little better after some rest. We had a shocker with Kate. I had one day where she didn't eat a lot during the day and then was up all night - and I'll never do that again. If she misses a feed, I'll force it down her later .

Kate happily drinks from anything and tries to drink anything too. She usually dribbles it out after tho . It's really messy. I use the mam bottles, Blonde. I dont know about the fandangles but they are pink - and not mistaken by the avent ones everyone seems to use.

Where are Kitty and Foxy?? Hope everything is ok.

kiwibella · 22/01/2008 15:08

all this talk about the quality of knickers on the telly the last few days ... it's being discussed on every show!! I think that feeding bras are ugly and functional and could do with a makeover .

Rosylily · 22/01/2008 15:22

my knickers and bras are all horrendous looking rags
