Jay, when I was 30 weeks pregnant I had another week and a half to go...!!!!! Am SOOOO envious of you pregnant people. I really thought I was pg again this week. My cycle had amazingly fallen into a 28-day pattern for two months (it's always been a bit irregular but leaning more towards 35 days usually). Anyway, should have come on last Thurs/Fri, nothing come Tuesday and I was feeling really nauseous. Had started reading my pg book for the "signs". There was a tiny show on Wed am so thought, oh well, I'm not, but then still felt sick all morning, so did a test anyway - as I did it (after I'd spent the money obviously), period arrived . The annoying thing is I STILL feel nauseous. Great. Although at least I can get pissed at Christmas .

Rosy - can't your DS1's dad have some input into this too?

Better go and talk to DP I suppose...

DeathBySnooSnoo · 14/12/2007 21:33

callie-how heavy is your period?(way TMI sorry).when i was pregnant with dd2 i thought my period had started but it was just light spotting.it happened at week 8 and week 12 as well.you can have periods when you're pregnant you know.did you do the test anyway?

Elsie is growing up.she and dd2 were playing peek-a-boo earlier, both laughing their heads off.she has realised there are other rooms to explore and follows me.and i told her off for the first time todaywhen she was about to bite into the phone cable and i said 'NO!'.i get the feeling she's going to be a bit of a handful like ds2 was

foxcubinapeartree · 14/12/2007 23:05

bottom-eyes Snoo? Are they like the ones that my Mum used to have in the back of her head? ?

KITTYmaspudding · 15/12/2007 08:03

ah, snoo that's is where you are going wrong, you don't need MORE eyes. I prefer to blindfold myself so that I do not have a clue what is gong on. I find it very effective .

Ronnie is whizzing up the various stairs now. Luckily they are shallow . He does rather like to go up a few then sit 'back' and see what is going on .
He also loves to follow the hoover around on the brief occasions when it is used.

Aw it's great to get everyone's feedback on my issue! Thank you.
I am trying to treat him like an adult but fantastic as my family is, treating people as adults isn't our strong point. And I was feeling as if my parents are treating me like a teenager and I'm 40!

Ds1 is the second grandchild and the 6 months older first grandchild got straight A's and won several awards for top marks so she is a hard act to follow!

One of his teachers has separated him from where he sat messing with his friends and moved him on his own at the front because she says it's a sin
.

His Dad was kicked out left school at 15 with no exams. He washes cars and is interested in teaching ds1 the art of placing bets and playing pool

Evenhope he used to play Runescape but didn't like the 'nature of the community' because everyone hangs about trying to get peoples stuff when they are killed My sister plays it, she finds it relaxing.

Snoosnoo he doesn't think he is addicted to wow just like we don't think we are addicted to breathing
Anyway it is fantastic to get a few different perspectives on this.

Gives me a bit of balance.

Where has Shanks got to? Must stalk chase her on fb!

trixabelle · 15/12/2007 16:28

hi ladies hope you're all well i've read this thread with interest and i feel quite relieved now about what my lo is eating.
does anyone know when you should introduce eggs, he hasn't tried them yet and i remember with dd doing that quite late

trixabelle · 15/12/2007 16:33

he has: breakfast - milk plus weetabix or baby rice or equivalent, fruit puree or mash banana
late morning - milk
lunchtime - something savoury like lentils or broccoli in cheese sauce, or a plum organic savoury pot or 2 then fruit or yogurt or petit filous
late afternoon - milk and maybe a rusk
tea - something meat or fish based, plus mashed veg, with pudding as above
bedtime - milk if he wants it

he eats well but he is on the 25th centile just like my daughter was, however i'm not concerned and have stopped even going to the health visitor because they just make me paranoid , mine honestly doesn't seem to know what she is talking about! i should really get him weighed but i keep puttin it off because i know he is fine, can anyone relate to this?

i've finally got my tree up and kids well into the xmas vibe

Rosyrednosily · 15/12/2007 18:11

Trixabelle that sounds great, Hasan isn't eating nearly that much. I never get him weighed either but he is big and chubby and I'm not worried.
ds2 is allergic to egg so I am avoiding egg and nuts too.
We had our tree up since 1st dec

Hasan is being a wriggly playfull little so and so at bedtimes recently. Fighting sleep for ages. It signifies another stage in his development I guess. I'm hoping he will eventually just settle down to the bedtime routine I already have in place for dd and ds2.

awayinamuppet · 15/12/2007 18:25

Samuel had scrambled egg just the other day (very well cooked)... but no real allergies in our family so I haven't been that concerned about it.

I do know a little girl that was allergic to it... her skin would come out in hives just from having egg put on her skin poor mite.

foxcubinapeartree · 15/12/2007 18:32

Monti has eggs too Trixi - one of his fave foods is mashed up boiled egg. I must scramble some for him some time soon

IKWYM about HV's - I haven't had Monti weighed since he was 2 weeks old, but he has been in size 12-18 months clothes for about 2 months so he is clearly growing and is the biggest of the three Dcs to date.

Rose LOL at your post earlier - I know it wasn't meant to be funny but it made me checkle

KITTYmaspudding · 15/12/2007 20:42

Now whenever anyone mentions eggs I keep thinking of that threadworm thread blegh
Truly gross
Wow foxy Monti's in 12-18 month clothes? What a big boy

spongecake · 15/12/2007 20:48

would be really interested (nosy!) to hear about bedtime routines. This is mine hahahah i get my ds off at 7.30 latest then he wakes up (twice already tonight) and he will be awake at 11 refusing to go back to sleep and crying with tiredness. he wakes up again about 4 then up for the next 12 hours at 7.00 am. he doesn't even sleep after swimming

good news- passed my ou exam!

DeathBySnooSnoo · 15/12/2007 21:36

congratulations sponge!

Elsie's bedtime routine is bath, then downsairs for half hour of 'quiet time' (hahahahaha) then she has a bottle after ds2 and dd2 have gone to bed, then she faffs about for a bit,has another couple of ounces, has a cuddle then i take her up.she usually sleeps from 8-7 but has been waking due to teeth the past few nights.

trix-whats a health visitor?

Elsie is in 12-18 months clothes also.dd2 has had a major groth spurt and gone straight into 2-3 clothes,so i have plenty of 12-18 months things.

may i ask a question of those of you with dh's/dp's?
how often do you all go out as a family,if atall?(as opposed to you taking the dc out by yourself).

MerryPIFFLEmas · 15/12/2007 21:49

family outings every weekend
to the supermarket ha ha at least

DD was allergic to eggs, mildly, so we exceluded them and now she is 5 she occasioanlly dips her toast into our yolks, but not an egg fan at all, ds1 is 13 and HATES eggs.

Finn LOVES them and is not allergic, he shared my scrambled ones this morning

Oh a new word
Muh for more, muh muh until he gets it!

He loves his grub!
Finn also has his first egg on the head - he was kneeling and I prophetically turned around and said to DP, wonder how he'll get down himself then..
he promptly pivoted and fell crack onto a hard toy

Felt awful, still do, Finn amazing, simply rubbed it, and went for it again
Both ds1 and dd were mega cautious babies...
WTF have I done, he is an explorer with no fear for consequence, life nor limb....

Kitty hoovering

MerryPIFFLEmas · 15/12/2007 21:56

oh sorry that took me about 3 hrs to write and it shows
bed time consists of
not letting Finn sleep past 3.30pm
good breastfeed on waking at 3.30
dinner at 5pm - then nappy change + strip wash and pj's or bath
play and when in the night garden finishes, it's bed time into sleeping bag and nice breastfeed
He and dd go up together if dp is here, I feed Finn while DP sorts out dd
otherwise me and Finn put dd to bed and then I feed Finn and he goes straight down at 7pm ish and usually stays there...

I am such an idiot.

For the last week I've been checking "threads I'm on" wondering why there weren't any new messages on the postnatal thread.

And then tonight I suddenly had the thought that I'd look just in case there was a new one.

Hello everyone again!

Food: Bertie has lots and lots of bf, and then just gets bits of whatever we're eating. If we're eating something naughty like pizza we have to do it while he's asleep else he screams when he watches us eat, he's so used to getting food. He eats everything - fruit, veg, meat, mushrooms, cheese, pasta, well, everything like I say, except eggs (allergies; just want to be on the safe side) and nuts / raisins (small choking hazard style things). Nothing mushed / pureed, I can't be bothered with all that so he eats what he can and the rest goes on the floor to be scoffed down by the dogs.

He is still teeny whatever I give him!

I'm off to bed in a minute as I'm knackered but I'll come back and have a proper read through everyone's posts tomorrow afternoon.

Rosyrednosily · 16/12/2007 08:49

It took me a while to catch on too, Somebody usually does a link to the new thread for the stragglers you see so we got confused.

Well done Sponge!

Fox-glad I entertained you with my wittering

If I don't vacuum twice a day (which I often don't) then the floor is disgusting. We are all so messy. ds2 usually does some of the vacuuming. It's a 'Henry' and perfect for Hasan to use as a walkie.

Mossy Hasan is feeding like Bertie - he is mostly still just on breast and is a big boy so I don't think it makes any difference, they are going to be the size they are meant to be at this stage I reckon.

All he has typically is 4/5 bits of pasta and 1 mushroom for lunch and 4/5 bits of orange then a few mouthfulls of brocolli and potato with grated cheese for tea which mostly gets chucked on the floor. And a couple of mouthfulls of yoghurt drink or pure orange. That's it. And loads of boobie milk all night and all day of course.
He has outgrown some 9-12 months and just starting to put him in 12-18 month stuff.

Our bedtime routine-( 3 times a week a bath), pjs, teeth and stories and songs starting about 6.45 and dd and ds2 are usually asleep by 7.30pm.
Hasan tends to fall asleep then too and I pop him in the cot. Half an hour later he wakes again full of beans for a while. During the evening he feeds back to sleep and keeps waking until I go to bed and he is beside me. Then he wakes once or twice for bf in the night.

Then everyone's up at 7ish nowadays. Hasan will have 2 or 3 naps during the day.

KITTYmaspudding · 16/12/2007 09:11

I wanted to do that Rosy but the old thread was completely full up!!!!

Ronnie is driving me BLOODY NUTS these last few days, just shrieking and screaming. He sounds like a stuck pig.
It's SUCH a HORRIBLE noise. He does it when he's cross and boy is he cross.
All he wants from me is boob. I have no nice playing time with him. I hear him playing with others when he can't see me then as soon as he hears or sees me he starts screaming.

I know maybe I should be flattered but it's getting me down as I have no relaxing happy time with him

Snoo dp and I do weekends together as a family. If in the week or hols I do the kids on my own.

Hello everyone else sorry for the moan

OP posts:
Rosyrednosily · 16/12/2007 09:44

Kitty it is maybe just a habit that he has developed because he had quite a difficult start and also has to compete with the others. Any chance of you innitiating interaction with him- before he gets the chance to demand it, for a bit? Might break his habit? Can't think of anything else except that it will pass.
I hate it when the children make horrible noises at me and I've been known to stuff my ears with cotton wool but Ronnie is too young for that trick yet

Snoosnoo forgot about your question. We rarely go out as a family except for shopping. In the summer of 2006 we went to the zoo...
We do drive all over Ireland in the school holidays of course!

Rosyrednosily · 16/12/2007 10:01

Of course Kitty I'm doing the man thing of trying to provide answers and you probably just need a moan!

KITTYmaspudding · 16/12/2007 10:16

Thanks for listening Rosy, yes I need a moan but any ideas are always welcome.
He's crawled off now, thank heavens, no idea where he is, but no one's screaming so it must be ok

OP posts:
DeathBySnooSnoo · 16/12/2007 11:53

kitty-Elsie will be all smiles with dh or playing with the others then as soon as she sees me she starts whinging.not all the time but quite often!

dh used to come out with us at the weekends but i couldnt imagine it now.

foxcubinapeartree · 16/12/2007 12:59

Hiya Moss - was wondering where you were

Piff/Kittywise - Monti is kind of in love with our Henry and spends hours wrestling with the hose on it!! The hoover is his fave toy!

Bedtime - HaHaHa

he naps at about 9,30-10.30am
1-2pm
6-6.30pm

Bedtime: bath twice a week (well its so cold atm)

Supper about 9pm

BF at 10.30pm followed by FF top up

Sleep at 11pm

wakes me hourly for a BF until 7.30am

KITTYmaspudding · 16/12/2007 15:46

ooh Foxy, that's crap that he wants to feed that often in the night. No wonder he's a big lad.

Ronnie has no set sleep pattern, if he's grizling too much I put him to bed and let hinm scream himself to sleep .

He wakes about 5 am and bf until 6.30 when the alarm goes off

breakfast at 8am, porridge, toast etc, whatever's lying around, by then he has also eaten scraps dropped on the floor by the other children (who needs dogs?).

When he's awake during the day he has boob every 1/2 hour.
Sometimes he gets lunch if I remember
I'm always offering him bits of food throughout the day anyway.

About 3pm he has a jar of something then at dinner whatver we're having and a jar for pud.
He has boob again just before bed at 7pm and usually sleeps through 'till 5am.

Snoo, why won't your dh go out with you all? Can't you make him?

He's very partial to anything meaty, not so fond of chips, likes pasta, pizza, noodles
