Loving the new name Annie

HumphreysCorner · 26/02/2008 13:01

Think my depression is hereditary unfortunately as my late Grandad was a sufferer and my uncle is permanently on AD's. I had the HV coming round for chats when I started taking the AD's but I felt better because of the tablets. Anyway, today I feel like it is a good day and am able to smile. Bizarrely, on a bad day my facial muscles seem to freeze so smiling is v. difficult. I have nothing to be depressed about so will carry on regardless I think. Thanks all.

kbaby-my goodness, how frightening for you when DS did a runner. Em did a similar thing once when I was in the front garden-turned round and she had gone and when I looked she had squeezed through the hedge and was talking to out cat. Put chicken wire up soon afterwards. Loving Lost BTW. Sayid

flick-I had dreadful swelling with Em but not Sophie thank goodness. Had to keep standing in a bowl of iced water to help.

Going to get some yummy Ryvitas so love to all and bye for now!

Hi everyone

BIG hugs Spin. Hope Roshi's ok. Finger's crossed for you all. Gonna miss you...

Sorry about your former colleague HC. It's always tragic when people go before their time.

ohmigod Kbaby! Glad nothing happened. How scary.

I also stalked you on facebook Mae! Welcome to the thirtysomethings!

Have a great b-day too Soph!

Glad Kayley seems better Annie. Ryan's suddenly had an eczema flare-up for the first time ever - weird. Might be a reaction to his last jabs but have also taken him off dairy and that seems to have helped.

Pixel, have you got a bread machine and coffee maker? You want to get them working just before the house viewers come - the smell of coffee and freshly made bread will blind them to any clutter and make 'em want to snap the place up straight away!

How's TTC going CB? Try not to stress too much about it and just enjoy Josh to the full - you'll have less time for him when you have another bairn... (that's my excuse for not TTC in the near future any road!)

I worry about you and your DH, Flick - does not sound good. Have you considered counselling together? You can't keep fighting all the time Hope Sam can hold on in there for a bit longer - take it easy.

Off home with Ry today (DP looked after him yesterday) - he's been off his food since Sunday, feverish yesterday and keeps rubbing his mouth. Doc says it's just a sore thoat - but why all the fuss? Nightmare - I've only been in my new job a wee while and this is the 2nd time I've had to have time off.... They are v understanding there but I still feel bad.

Major discovery this weekend is that expensive "tummy-holding-in" pants are a waste of money! Yous probably already knew this life-shattering info! Guess it's back to sit-ups then....

Hi to everyone else. Impy xxx

thefortbuilder · 26/02/2008 16:13

hey impy! thanks for worying but we were pretty like this when i was pg with jacob... dh does not cope well with stress and having another prem baby / having the loft done / general stress at work / the markets being terrible with all the sub prime issues meaning they have to fight very hard to bring new business in which is really important with him being a partner now....all means he is a bit of a pita to live with at times. and he doesn't deal at all well with the possibility that there may be anything wrong with jacob (i know none of us do with our dc's but he is a real bad coper) - we will be fine - and he seems to think i can just carry on as normal and i keep having to remind him that I AM PREGNANT AND WE HAVE A TODDLER SO I CAN'T REST

believe me our situation is all pretty superficial! but thank you for worrying

on a separate note did anyone read the whole mrsgg threads recently???? awful it's now turned out to be a troll.

anyway nothing else interesting to say right now so i'll be off - i have an apple and cinnamon muffin with my name all over it. dh working late tonight so i don't have to worry about cooking for him and can eat whatever i like!

jacob's favourite words are now cake (as in fish cake) and pie (like shepherds or fish). o'h and his little brother will be called haaaaaaam as we can't say sam yet

ImpyChica · 26/02/2008 18:21

Well you know better than anyone how it all is, Flick - so if you say it's ok then I'm

Hugs Impy xxx

HumphreysCorner · 26/02/2008 18:54

Yes, I read the MrsGG thread-how could someone be so heartless?

HC
x

thefortbuilder · 26/02/2008 19:00

i know dreadful isn't it hc. also read the thread about it after it was deleted and there have been a number of them in the past one of whom's (sp) profile is still on profiles!

and impy - he's just a right royal PITA at the moment, if only he could handle pressure better it'd be totally different!

MaeWest · 26/02/2008 19:48

HC - think you're right about depression being hereditary, my dad's side of the family seem to be pretty prone to it. I've only had one full blown depression when I was 19, ended up dropping out of university. However my mum swears that I had a 'black cloud' even as a small child and sometimes used to just withdraw for a couple of days at a time. When I was depressed I also felt extremely guilty as I had no outward reason for it, good family, good exam results etc etc.

((((hugs))) for you

ceebee74 · 26/02/2008 20:08

HC ? I am glad you went to the funeral ? it sounds like it was a lovely service and I am sure the family appreciated everyone attending.

Kbaby ? OMG, how frightening for you. So glad that he was ok though.

Annie ? lol at the ?rockabye baby? thing ? thanks to my mum, Josh now wants to be held like a baby and sung to ? over and over and over and over again! My mum has a lot to answer for!

Impy ? poor Ry ? it is good that you have understanding employers as it makes life so much easier. Thanks for asking about the TTC ? we are just in the middle of the ?fun? part of my 5th cycle and fortunately DH is only away for one night this week which makes it a bit easier ! So keep your fingers crossed for me.

Not much to report here ? Josh has suddenly become very affectionate which is just lovely. He kisses everything (his favourite game at the moment is to line up some toys on the windowsill and then go along giving them all a kiss ? v sweet!) and now comes up to you with his arms up saying ?cuddle? (well, something like that as his pronounciation of all words is just plain crap tbh). No idea what has changed as he was probably the most unaffectionate child up until about 2 weeks ago

Wallace · 26/02/2008 20:41

Hi all. I love reading the little snippets about what everyone is up to.

spin - hope all is okay xx

kbaby - terrifying isn't it! I will tell Leo to stop being a bad influence on the other July06 babies

Wallace · 26/02/2008 20:52

Meant to sya does anyone else's lo like to have the same conversation over and over again?

For example we get many many convos which go something like this:

Leo: daddy doodud
Me: Yes, that's Daddy's toothbrush
Leo: Mummy doodud
Me: Yes, that's Mummy's toothbrush
Leo: NeeNee doodud
Me: Yes, that's (dd's) toothbrush
Leo: Dydy doodud
Me: Yes, that is (ds1's) toothbrush

And on and on and on

Hi fave at the mo is where he points at where he scribbled on the wall (posted this on another thread in case it looks familiar!) and says...

ds2: Oh no!
Me: Who drew on the wall?
ds2: Daddy
Me(faking surprise): Did Daddy draw on the wall?
ds2: No
Me: No, Daddy didn't draw on the wall. Daddy knows drawing goes on paper.
ds2 (giggles, points): OH no!
Me: Who drew on the wall?
ds2: Mummy
Me(faking surprise): Did Mummy draw on the wall?
ds2: No
Me: No, Mummy didn't draw on the wall. Mummy knows drawing goes on paper.
ds2 (giggles, points): OH no!

Repeat blaming every family member and even the dog. Several times a day.

he really does crack me up He has got a wicked sense of humour already.

ImpyChica · 26/02/2008 21:20

Hilarious Wallace! DP enjoyed that too. Ryan is constantly scribbling on our walls but is too proud of his work to blame anyone else...! Naughty little boys...

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/02/2008 22:07

that's gorgeous Wallace! Made me smile.

had to really tell Toby off this evening (NO TOBY! STOP HITTING HARRY! NAUGHTY BIY!) as he just hits and hits him when he gets excited, and I left him behind the stair gate at the top of the stairs as punishment while I went to get his milk, he was bawling but I really am tired of him lashing ut to get attention. it's not fair that H gets a bollocking for hitting and Toby doesn't, so....

Ok, hate mising out, someone please summarise the MrsGG thing for me please....please...

Chin up lovely HC, don't be down honey.

xxx

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/02/2008 22:07

NAUGHTY BOY of course

HumphreysCorner · 26/02/2008 22:47

MrsGG was supposedly 24 weeks PG and living with domestic violence. She then made a brave decision to leave which brought on labour. She gave birth to a girl and posted a pic of 'her' baby at 24 weeks. Hunkermunker then found the same pic of said baby on the net and it turned out to be a German baby born the other year. MrsGG also copied word for word a description of how a prem baby is wired up and fed etc from IVillage website. Absolutely shocking.

Jesus. That's such a hideous abuse of the support Mumsnet gives. What a sad individual. I would feel sorry for her if I didn't think what she did was so wrong....

HumphreysCorner · 27/02/2008 08:32

My goodness, what an earthquake that was last night-was terrified!

HC
x

ceebee74 · 27/02/2008 08:54

HC - I thought of you this morning as the centre of it was Grimsby and I know you live close (ish) to that - was it really bad? We just got about 10 seconds of mild shaking which I actually thought was fab having never felt an earthquake before!

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 27/02/2008 11:11

Morning all.

So it's true, there was an earthquake!? I didn't believe DH when he told me!! Should watch the news really in the morning instead of cartoons. Just shows you how often he 'lies' to me, eh, that I don't believe anything now!!
Are you ok, all you Northerners?

Hadn't read the MrsGG thing, but .
What possible benefit can that have for her?

Wallace, LOL at your Leo's convos!! Exactly the same happens here!! Except it usually involves eating weetabix.

CB I blame DH for the rockabye thing... Love all the kisses and cuddles though!!! Even at night after four hours of wriggling and screamin, when she clamps her arms around my neck and goes ''allo mammy' 'kiss mammy' and 'cuggle' all whilst more or less asleep, all is forgiven.

Flick, hope you and DH are ok. And Jacob, and Sam!! Have you got your feet up please?

Impy, poor Ryan. Hope it clears up with the non-dairy thingy. K is having a bit of a flare-up at the moment too, I think it's the beginning of chicken pox, one or two non-eczema looking spots on her little body. Let's see...

Have a good day,all

thefortbuilder · 27/02/2008 11:31

well the flick household slept right through the earthquake although jacob then woke at 250 came in with us and got through nearly 2 bottles of milk before nappy change and painkillers which he nearly threw up and back to sleep at 430.... so we are all knackered! except jacob who is sitting watching thomas while playing with a highlander dvd box, very intently!

MIL is booked to come over a week on saturday so i can at least get my feet up from then on - assuming i haven't had the baby by then as that's just over 32 weeks!!!

jacob doesn't scrawl on the walls yet mind you i think that's more to do with keeping him away from crayons and chalk now as all he does is eat them

and he's back on not pooing. nothing since yesterday morning which is ok i guess but he's gone from 2 a day to none for four days to a couple of days of ok and now not ok again. i think it's the soya milk but then he's either congested or we have this issue. still at the paed anyway about his cough that just won't shift tomorrow morning so will ask then. also he's clutching his ears (again) which you can guarantee will be a bloody ear infection from all the mucus and not just teething.

jeez it's just one thing after another at the moment.

sorry had to get all that off my chest!

anyway, HC hope you are feeling ok today and not too scared from the earthquake, or too much damage done by it.

xxx

thefortbuilder · 27/02/2008 18:18

where are you all???

have you started another thread without me

HumphreysCorner · 27/02/2008 19:25

Oh flick, we would never start a new thread without telling you............or would we

No damage from the earthquake thank goodness but it was sooooooo frightening. I was just wandering round the bedroom shaking-was convinced it was a plane crash and as that is my biggest fear it scared me so much. Kept waiting for fire engines and ambulances but there weren't any.

Am v. tired as couldn't sleep after the quake so am chilling with a glass of the old faithful BH. DH out bowling and is playing squash tomorrow which has annoyed me intensely as I have struggled to keep sane with the girls tonight. Ho hum. Beeper on the cooker going off so must go and eat my tea.....alone.

HC

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 27/02/2008 21:40

Oh HC I'll join you now in a glass of vino. Men huh. DH is watching stupid football, even thought 'it's a dreadful game, this'...
He keeps quoting stats at me, and telling me to watch this tackle or something. I DON'T CARE!!!
So Sorry the quake was so scary, I didn't realise it was that strong up there.
Hope you enjoyed your tea. I made juicy burgers, mmm!

Well K went off to sleep ok tonight, she only slept for about 10 minutes all day. DH doesn't have a regular nap time for her, so she jsut stays awake until she conks herself.
Later, she'll be up again, screaming, scratching, and clinging to my neck and sitting on my nose... can't wait.

Flick, how're you feeling, missus? Hope J has had a poo by now.

Twinklemegan · 27/02/2008 22:51

Hello all. Manic week at work and I'm getting home really late so I've just skim read the latest posts backwards.

HC - I'm so sorry to hear about your colleague. That sort of thing really puts things in perspective doesn't it?

Spin - lots of hugs to you all, and I hope things turn out for the best. xx

Wallace - the house we were gazumped on was in the main village by us. And did I enjoy telling them where to stick it - I think it's back on the market now - ha ha.
The one we are hopefully buying (in a couple of weeks, everything crossed) is closer to work, a bit outside the National Park. We can barely afford anything in the NP and the market isn't moving at the mo. I think it's a similar distance from you though, the other way. Perhaps I'll email you - do you fancy meeting up again at some point?

Lol at the funny words. Aidan's latest is tractor, except he doesn't say that, he says "ba-gar" - you can imagine how that sounds!

Hi to everyone else. xx

OP posts:
kbaby · 28/02/2008 14:48

Wallace- I love Leo's conversations, unfortunetly DS's speach isnt half of that yet so converstations in our house mainly go
DS 'egh' while pointing
me- you want the phone
ds - no
me- you want the keys
ds - no
me- well tell me what you want then
ds 'egh' and on and on until I eventually find the right thing

I cant wait for him to start speaking properly

Bloss- I tell Ds off mainly just in fromt of DD so that she sees that any hitting is naughty etc. Ds has also started getting a bit boisterous lately and thinks its funny to head butt! and spit his drink out. This morning he wanted to get in the shower with me and then proceedd to get down on his hands and knees and suck the water off the bottom of the bath and spit it against the shower curtain.
That mrs g thread- I missed it and I pity her or feeling the need to make a story up but why did hunkerman also felt that had to do research into the story and go looking for the real picture! am i missing something?
