mrsgg story i think hunker suggested a troll very early o nand was shouted down so once the pic was loaded up (very very very early after delivery) she thought hmmmmm especially as apparently the description was quite different to a scbu iyswim?

we had ba-gar a lot recently. and i do have a habit of saying bugger so had to train ds that it was buggy

he's done a poo!!!!! this morning and it was huge and stinky. but we have more teeth tops come through so that's probably what's causing it a bit.

paed confirmed a chronic upper respiratory tract infection that has caused fluid on the ears, so we have yet another course of antibiotics, at least this is only once a day for 3 days. i am off to docs tomorrow for bp check and am going to ask for some too as i have a sinus infection that i have not been able to shift and it's making me even more miserable than usual in the pregnancy (dh's words there )

favourite words here still cake and pie.....

what's everyone doing for mothers day? i have boycotted going out for lunch becuase i can't eat what i want to eat or drink what i want to drink and resent paying through the nose to have stuff i don't want! so we are having nice roast lunch cooked at home. we bought loads of daffodils at the farmers market last sunday and they are in full bloom so i don't actually need any flowers, although i think dh will probably get some - i might just get more daffodils from the farmers market on sunday, although of course if we don't get there first thing they will all be gone.... o'h the dilemmas!!!

anyway, must be off you must all be fed up of my rambling!

Re: MrsGG-Hunker went looking for info on Prem babies born at 24 weeks to help MrsGG in her hour of need. It was only then that someone noticed the 2 pics were the same.

aaah i thought hunker was being (not in a bad way) suspicious - that was how it seemed on the thread about the mrsgg thread after it had been deleted. i probably have it wrong.

you are a saint to have both sets of parents for mothers day hc.

it's as much as i can do when mil asked fil on the phone today if he wanted to come with her when she comes to stay a week on saturday, not to shout and say " NO NO NO NO I can't stand him"

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 29/02/2008 15:52

Flick, hope you are hanging on in there!!
And you too Soph!
Flick I bought this Weleda Calendula Baby Cream I hope it's the one you meant for the eczema, and that it works!! Thanks for that btw.

Hello to everyone else and have a lovely weekend and Mother's Day

thefortbuilder · 29/02/2008 17:14

hi annie! yes we are all still where we should be at the moment and 31 weeks today!

yes the weleda cream is great (esp cos it's a kiwi product from the hawkes bay which is possibly one of my favourite places in the world!), although i use korres calendula cream cos can't get the weleda in many places down our way. have had to put it on my face last night as my eczema is terrible now on my chin and round the sides of my nose, and also on my cheeks - i'm really blooming

have a great weekend and mothers day everyone - probably won't get on for most of the weekend. we are having our 4d scan tomorrow afternoon!

Hey ladies Been working in London today so early start and missed putting DS to bed, which I'm not used to. Good productive day workwise tho, feel the twitch of ambition coming back, tis most odd

Annie - I hate to say it, but sleep seems to be settling again. DS is reliably going thro until 5.00, sometimes even 5.30 . Hope some of this rubs off on Kayley! I know 5am may sound terrible to some, but it is so much better than it has been.

Speech-wise, DS has a fine range of food words - cheese, joos, eetabix etc, which he likes to combine with his favourite new word 'more' grin. There's a few mamas interspersed with the daddies too, which is lovely...

HumphreysCorner · 01/03/2008 20:25

Hi all

Hope you are all having a good weekend and flick, how did your 4D scan go?

Lost Emma in Tescos this morning and only found her as some nice lady had escorted her to the Customer Service desk.

Meant to say, came downstairs on Thursday night to find DH scrolling through and reading all my messages. and Is nothing sacred?

Am cooking for both sets of parents tomorrow so have been v. busy today.

Love to all

Happy mothers day

Flik - a 4d scan how amazing!

Ds has sudenly come out with 3 new words yesterday, rabbit, flower and bubbles i'm amazed as i was starting to worry that we may never get any tidy words out of him.
Took DD to a birthday party yesterday for her school friend, it is so sweet to se her interacting with her friends and having conversations. She seems to get on quite well with most of them and it seems to have already formed a 'gang of girlies' and apparently or mothersday she is buying me a silver washing basket!

I was looking for DS birth annoncement and came across our July thread where we were all waiting for our babies, seems so strange to read them now.

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/03/2008 19:51

Hope everyone had a better Mother's Day than me:

no lie in because MIL and DH combined couldn't cope with Toby whho was abominable this morning.
No lie in because I couldn't put Toby down.
Solo trip with the boys to Bird World, after huge row with DH in front of MIL.
Huge clear up after lunch for my parents and MIL.
3 loads of washing and an hour of ironing.
Solo bath time. Dh "resting".

I DID get flowers and a home made card, and DH did TRY to let me have a lie in and did TRY to make me scrambled eggs to have in bed, but TOby was not cooperating, and I just thought oh fucking great. This just feels like a normal day on my own. Cue loads of texts from friends "I'm still in bed!", "Haven't lifted a finger today", "Got a voucher for a spa day!", which just gave me the fuckits....

Oh well. Shouldn't moan, I know loads of people probably had worse days than me and DH did try. It can only get better right?

Went to London with Toby yesterday to visit friends. He ran across a wooden floor and CRACKED his head when falling over, massive bump and bruise. I did wonder if that was why he was so appallingly behaved this morning, it was really quite out of the ordinary....

Working at home tomorrow so will give me a chance to chill and regroup.

Bloss

TheGoddessBlossom · 02/03/2008 19:52

sorry that should have read no breakfast cos I couldn't put TOby down. Moan over.

soph28 · 02/03/2008 20:10

Hi girls!

I am SO tired. Had a party for my birthday on Friday night and stayed up till 4am. We had a lie in the next day cos my mum had the kids but it wasn't really a lie in cos we went to bed so late! Then had my sis and BIL and their 2 dc who are 22mths and 6mths to stay and all went out for a family meal yesterday. I was on creche duty at church today so no lie in!

Am fed up of being pregnant, just want to have the baby now but it's a bit too early!

Am off to have a lovely bubble bath now!

HumphreysCorner · 02/03/2008 20:55

Bloss-what a shit day! I suspect Tobes is off sorts due to the bump but may have been playing up a tad to MIL and DH. I have cooked for both sets of parents so slaved all day yesterday and today yet DH is shattered Feel your pain Bloss {{hugs}}

Hi soph-lol, can't remember the last time I had a lie in. Just not possible with wildchild Emma.

Love to all.

hey all!

will attempt to find a suitable pic to post as little sam decided to put his hands in front of his face while being scanned at one point he was holding a foot up to his face and sucking his thumb!

anyway, bloss you poor thing sounds like a good attempt at mothers day and yes probably toby was playing up a bit for dh and mil... i had no lie in but only because jacob is so very loud! they did make me breakfast though, and dh and i managed to get through the day without arguing. and they did buy me lots of daffodils from the farmers market. and when i was feeling grotty in the afternoon dh did take jacob up the road and get me a hot chocolate and buy another washing drying rack (not my m day gift i should say!).

but then i did drop lots of hints all week so i expected dh to make an effort.

and......the fucking (sorry everyone but you'll understand when you read on) builders......took the ceiling down on friday and put the stairs in to get to the loft. left the hatch to jacob's room unsealed so it kept banging open all night, have got 130yrs worth of dust and grit EVERYWHERE so i ahd to scrub bedroom floors before we could even get in there on friday night. i had to spend 2 hours on friday night (jacob had repeat of ITNG....) doing this before i could even attempt to put him to bed, and then on saturday morning i spent 5 hours scrubbing floors and cleaning every imaginable surface, stripping beds and hoovering mattresses the list goes on. DH was occupying jacob while i was doing this and he's such a drama queen it was easier to do it myself!

but the f'ing builders were supposed to do it all today so i could tape the rooms up before they did meaning that most of that mess wouldn't have happened - but no one thought to tell me so it ended up being a disaster.

put it this way if jacob comes out with f..., w....rs,...., b....ds, and various other niceties i would not be surprised my language was interspersed with floods of tears at the horror that they thought it was ok to leave it like that for a weekend.

anyway, it's back on track today so hopefully all on the way, and they reckon to be pretty much finished by easter which will be wonderful!

MIl arrives this saturday and i think my parents are coming up on sunday.

and did i say that my mum has had finally a consultation for the parkinsons and they reckon she has very mild symptoms but not enough to medicate.

thefortbuilder · 03/03/2008 16:56

and does anyone have any ideas for where to get hold of really nice looking gift boxes that aren't expensive - for my new business venture! need fancy looking packaging that isn't going to break the bank...

TheGoddessBlossom · 03/03/2008 19:17

re builders Flik - Dh is one and he wouldn't DREAM of leaving a house in that condition overnight never mind a weekend. He is incredibly fastidious at work, hoovers before going home, and doesn't even really like using a client's toilet if he can get away with it..........

Sorry about your Mum..........

HumphreysCorner · 03/03/2008 21:13

flick-grot time for you too eh? Can't imagine what it is like to have builders working on a house you actually live in. You really need to slow down as you approach Sam's birth. Business venture-do tell us what it is.

Well, just one 3 course lunch cooked by me caused me to out 2 1/2 lb on-ggrrrrhhhh!!!!!!

Take care y'all.

lambskin booties from new zealand - am hoping one of the childrenswear chains is going to stock them, and they will also be available online once i get the website sorted! tell all your friends and buy them all as gifts

bloss does your dh do big structural work? not for a while though but always good to have good builders names etc, given how disastrous this lot are....

PixelHerder · 03/03/2008 21:37

ooh Flick are they like Uggs? Emma was given some Baby Uggs from Aus and they are great, she wears them as slippers indoors.

Hi to everyone, sorry need to do a proper catch up xxx

kbaby · 03/03/2008 21:44

Bloss- Your mothers day sounded terrible and even though you are saying that your DH did try and let you have a lie in he couldve done the bathing and cleared dinner up for you.

My day was ok, got 2 books and some choccies. Took my mum out for a meal and ended up leaving early as I was so fed up with the snide comments from my father. I had taken loads of things to try and keep the kids occupied but of course DS wouldnt sit still for a minute and wanted to be wandering about the restuarant and then discovered the stairs so he was in bliss, unfortunetly he kept getting in the way of those wanting to actually use the stairs and my dad was moaning about him being uncontrolable and how I only like to go to places where I can leave him to annoy everyone else or fob him off on a play area. This peed me off big time, I mean sorry I just love being in a snotty restaurant where I dont get to eat my food because I constantly have to get up and down to fetch DS instead of being in a child friendly place where the kids can play and I can eat! After another remark I got the dc and just left. He phoned up tonight to apologise.

Was meant to go on a spa day today but as we seem to have some sort of jinx after the fire alarm went off during my last spa day I wasnt surprised when they called today to say that the beautician was off sick and we couldnt have our treatments. We did get to use the facilities and have lunch for free though which was something. I will get my hot stones massage one day

Flik- You have my sympathies re your builders.

Right must go and try and sort out a bouncy castle for dd's birthday

HumphreysCorner · 03/03/2008 21:57

flick-forgot to say sorry about your mum's news. MIL's best friend was diagnosed last year. There is a new medication that you can only take for 10 years so she decided to take it now and she is coping admirably with it and carries on as always, jetting to Benidorm a million times a year. Think she had it a while before being diagnosed.

kbaby-poor you. I know how frustrating it can be when you have one eye on your children all the time especially when they get fed up with sitting in a high chair.

thefortbuilder · 04/03/2008 09:27

Pixel they are more like the bobux looking so for younger ones (although great as slippers even now for ds!) - but they are so much better than bobux or robeez!!! will link you all to the site when it's up and expect lots and lots of orders

kbaby i know exactly what you mean although jacob is still just about content to sit in a chair for long enough for us to shovel a course down our necks - great we pay loads of money to go to nice restaurant and then end up bolting the food down... my dad knows better than to say anything - i have a pretty sharp tongue on me when it comes to stuff like that.

HC they have said the symptoms are so mild they are not interested in medicating yet, so the 10 year drugs might be the ideal thing in a few years. the main thing is that she gets really anxios and depressed, but is still refusing to accept that might be part of the parkinsons, just thinks it's all the side effects of different drugs for blood pressure etc. and we're still waiting for a date for her heart surgery.....

and jacob has yet another cold and cough, but at least hopefully the cough is from all the snot and not on his chest! sorry if anyone's eating

TheGoddessBlossom · 04/03/2008 09:57

Yes Flick he does do some big stuff - it would depend - the friend's I went to see on Saturday live just of Battersea Rise near Clapham Common and need loads of work doing so I think he will venture up there to give them a quote...

KBaby, I know what you mean re restaurants. DH and I quite often go to a child friendly pub for the boy's tea and just have a drink ourselves rather than even attempt to eat a meal....

Flick I'll buy some they sound lovely.

Hi Spin hope you are ok......

Bloss

thefortbuilder · 04/03/2008 10:06

aaah bloss thanks!

by big stuff i mean proper structural putting in rsj's etc once we have architects plans and engineers reports..... although dh has now decided that we might do the bathroom on the 1st floor before attempting the downstairs. our architect reckons it's about 3 months work for the downstairs so lots to do!

the builders are being a bit better and even swept up after themselves yesterday...
