Just bought Harry some really nice Ecco shoes, had to be a trainer shoe combo as he refuses point blank to wear "shoes" and he can't go on just wearing his scruffy trainers. They are lovely. He is a 9, Toby is a 5.5.

They boys have a birthday party tomorrow, they have to go as Pirates, so have just bought a load of eye patches earrings, bandanas, telescopes, cutlasses, and hired a Captain Cook coat and hat for H, we're all going, should be hilarious!

Dinner party tonight. Both couple's other halves can't make it so it's basically Dh cooking for me and my girlfriends! Some amazing smells coming from the kitchen as he preps, scallops and fillet of beef, and I spotted a summer fruits cheese cake in the fridge yum yum yum.

Must start a diet on Monday however, as a journo friend has signed me up to road test these trainers that are suppposed to tone your bum while you walk followed by a phot shoot for a paper! Eek! Do you think i will be discovered? Do they have 33 year old supermodels with flabby tums and bingo wings? If not why not?

H watching chitty chitty bang bang, or trying to through his telescope, T asleep. Might risk sitting down with my book....whisper it........

Hi Girls ? gosh, suffering severe rugby fatigue here?

Bloss ? do alert us to your meeeja appearance, how exciting!!

HC ? how?s the caravan?

Mae ? happy belated 30th, bet you think I?m your stalker now (was on Facebook the other day and happened to notice your birthday) ? wait till your 40th, it will be even better

Twinkle ? good luck with the house tee hee re the sheepish estate agent

We?re on the market now, so fingers crossed, come the summer we?ll be installed on the Isle of Wight ? look out you Hampshire girls, the wine stocks in the supermarkets down your way may be running low soon (Would be fab to arrange a southern meet up if anyone?s up for it?)

Flick ? sorry to hear about the stressiness at the mo , try not to let it get you down too much and concentrate on getting your feet up and chilling (with plenty of energy giving chocs)

Ceebee ? did I say congrats on being an auntie Emma has some nursery-learned words as well ? like wee wee (she happened to see a cat weeing on a video clip on Richard and Judy and promptly said ?wee wee? much to my surprise. Mind you wee wee is also what she calls the washing machine, again, not somethign I have imparted to her as I try to keep her attention distracted away from it as much as possible

Spin ? hope the spiders have fecked off now, I don?t mind them too much on the whole but at the thought of spawn and millions of them?

Us ? nice to have you back, have missed Emma?s virtual twin

Annie ? how is Kayley now? Has she been referred to a specialist or paed at all (sorry don?t know if she was already seeing one)?

Emma has developed eczema on her wrists (all the way round) over the last week which is most odd as she hasn?t had it before. At least I?m fairly sure that?s what it is, it?s dry, wrinkled, rough, reddish looking skin. Could be a reaction to washing powder or something I guess, but it has also coincided with reintroducing dairy, as has her eyelash infection, so don?t know.

Poo ? I dream of a nice dry poo in her nappy (well not literally, but you know what I mean) ? hers have been the texture of very soft coarse pate for weeks now (again, coinciding with reintroducing dairy I guess), whereas a few months back they were definitely more solid and plopped neatly out of her nappy into the loo (separating the shite from the nappy these days is certainly no picnic)

Stats ? she?s wearing 3.5 G shoes, though she?s had those a while now so may be due for remeasuring. Height 76.7cm - 9th centile; Weight 25lbs with clothes and nappy - 50th centile, that has shot up in the last 8 weeks or so. I think she was on about 50th centile for height when born, and around 25th for weight, so both those have yoyo'd a bit.

Hi to everyone, hope you're having a good weekend.

Sweet dreams girls

PixelHerder · 23/02/2008 22:27

forgot to say, I think HC you asked why Emma was seeing dietician, it was due to the dairy allergy (and underweight thing) that she was diagnosed with x

Wallace · 24/02/2008 09:09

twink - just seens posts about house. Where abouts?

HumphreysCorner · 24/02/2008 19:56

Cor, the caravan is well nice. Have cleaned and polished and even put a bottle of Blossom Hill in it ready for a future excursion. Felt well down having not slept for 2 nights. Went to the shop for a bottle of wine at 9-15am only to find they can't sell alcohol until 10am so had to make a return journey. DH moaning that I could manage one day without wine-er, not! Em was hyper all day then refused any tea so was furious with her especially when she said she would have eaten chips. Did take the girls for a walk this morning but it was very bleak-made me feel a tad better though.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Any ideas how I can get over feeling down without going back on AD's?

HC

aGalChangedHerName · 24/02/2008 20:05

Evening girls

HC no advice as i have never been on AD's. Hope you feel better soon tho (((hugs)))

I am knackered, have been working flat out with the little darlings i look after and my own of course.

I also had a meet up in Edinburgh on Friday night. Was really good. FAQ came up to see her brother and Pruners,Mawbroon and Nailpolish were there. Lovely bunch of ladies, was rather pissed and looking forward to the next one!!!

Eilidh is a real chatterbox all the time. Only has to hear a word once to be repeating it so lost count of how many she can actually say now,but loads and loads anyway.

DS1's gf has come home stammer free. Tis lovely to sit and chat to her without her feeling awkward etc.

Best get on,got a huge pile of ironing, lucky old me!!

TheGoddessBlossom · 25/02/2008 09:03

HC LOL at the thought of you stocking the caravan with Blossom Hill just in case you should go out in it in the near future. Does it have loo roll too, or was Blossom Hill the priority?

I did of course mean a Captain HOOK outfit not a Captain COOK outfit. H looked brilliant, will post a pic later. Party was great although DH had two portions of chilli and spent the night on the toilet, which, added to his man flu meant he had to retire to bed for the whole evening. He amazingly managed to get up and come downstairs when the kids had been out to bed, how remarkable.

The dinner party was ace on Saturday night though, his food was amazing and one friend's DH made it in time to eat, so Dh wasn't too lonely without male company.

Bloss

oh Spin, so sorry to hear that, you must be distraught. Keeping everything crossed that you get good news soon, LOTS OF LOVE in the meantime xxx

AnnieOleTing · 25/02/2008 10:48

Oh Spin, poor Roshi and poor you Best of best of luck and see you on the other side when all will be well.

HC for you too. The only fool-proof way of cheering me up is to get together with my bestest mate, without DH (With or without DC's, depending...) and just have a laugh over old times and what a pair of oul floozies we used to be.
Short lived, but funny.
Just smile, it does make you feel better, somehow!

Pixel, thanks, Kayley is relatively ok at the moment, we have started her on Lacto-free milk (THANKS LYSETTE!) and so far no flare-ups. Well, except for DH moaning about the cost of it, but as I said to him, I'd pay a million quid if it made her better. And anyway all the crap he pays out for...
Still, that's another matter.
She has seen the Paed, and he put us on this soft water trial, which is coming to an end soon (not having made much difference) so we will see him again at the end of that (4 weeks ish).
It sounds like Emma's eczema is dairy-related then, what a shame. Are you going to take her off it again to see? All I can advise is moisturize every 10 seconds with a pure cream (we use Diprobase) even though she HAtes it. K tried to do it herself now, and puts it in her hair and up my nose usually...

Hello to everyone else, sorry I can't 'do' you all individually, am absolutely bogged under at work at the mo .
Feet up to the glowing pg ladies

Love y'all

Hi everyone,

Spin- so sorry to hear about Roshi {{{{{hugs}}}} I hope it's not as bad as you think and that you get it all sorted out soon. We'll be thinking about you.

Mae- Hope you had a great 30th birthday! It's mine this Saturday and I'm suddenly feeling old!

HC- sorry about your colleague, that's awful. So sad for her girls.
Hope you start to feel better soon- do you think some better weather will help? Have you tried st john's wort? some people find it a helpful alternative to AD.

Chloe is so cute at the mo but also can be very naughty!
She is really babbling now all the time- y'know when it sounds like they are speaking in proper sentences but is mainly gobbledigook.
She is beginning to put words together- things like 'oh doh' {all done)
'teeth bush'

got to go they are demanding LUNCH!

PixelHerder · 25/02/2008 11:17

Annie (like the new name btw thanks for the cream advice, have been wondering what to put on it. DH put some Sudocrem on it last night but that's probably not ideal. The truth is I have no idea whether it's dairy related, I've just changed from unscented to scented fabric conditioner, so it could even be something like that. I'll stop the dairy for a week or so though to see if it clears up. It only seems to be on her wrists at the mo, though her face is also quite dry.

HC - how are you today? I can't think of anything helpful to suggest except (ugh!!) exercise. Against my religion normally (slob that I am) but am a new convert, this week anyway. I'm having to drop Emma off and pick her up from 'new nursery' on foot three times a week so am getting tons more exercise than usual (it's a half hour round trip at a brisk walk) and I do feel better for it. First time I have felt anything like even approaching fit since pregnancy. And have lost a couple of pounds, hurrah. So that's my suggestion, that and lashings of Blossom Hill, obviously

Impy - can't remember if I said, but so glad for you that the job hours have worked out, that's great!

Agalch - the meetup sounds great, it's so interesting to put faces to names isn't it?

Mae - the Bristol meetup thread seems to have revived itself if you're interested, I'm hoping to get along to the next one.

Having the house on the market is hard work especially for a crap goddess like me, the constant tidying and hiding clutter in cupboards is driving me nuts am constantly trying to remember where I hid the toothbrushes, washing up bowl etc...

TheGoddessBlossom · 25/02/2008 11:53

Spin, HUGE hugs and support. Not really sure what is going on, but please know we are all here for you and wondering how you all are, and sending you and Roshi and all your family bug hugs.

ceebee74 · 25/02/2008 14:02

Spin - so sorry that you are going through this again. I really hope that it is not as bad as you think and big hugs to you all. We'll miss you - as Annie says, see you on the other side

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 25/02/2008 14:22

HC, meant to say, so sorry about your colleague . Wasn't it today, the funeral? Are you ok?

Pixel, Poor Emma. It's so frustrating not knowing what causes it. I don't think sudocreme is any good, as it's quite drying, and eczema needs to be moisutised. (even though it does say on the tub, for eczema).
Different creams work for different cases.

More for Spin and Roshi.

Bloss, I LOLed at Harry watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang through his telescope!!!

Must go, mozzies are calling...

x

thefortbuilder · 25/02/2008 15:56

spin - we are all thinking of you in the flick household and hope you are all ok to get through this latest round

pixel - have you tried calendula cream on the wrists - might help in the short term? although tis my answer to everything (except lacto free milk!)

annie - i have 6 cartons that run out on 4 march if you are anywhere near clapham common this week??? - it doesn't seem to really suit jacob although the soya is playing havoc with his poo. nothing for 3 days then prune juice in soya milk (has to be drunk STRAIGHT away or it curdles [throwing up emoticon]) got something moving and now we're on the coarse pate like you pixel (ithink it was?)

can't think of much else to put except we managed to row sunday morning pretty badly - dh doesn't seem to relaise that just becuase i don't say "I'm worried about delivering this baby early" and i say "having to measure protein in my urine (sorry if tmi), and have noticed my feet are starting to swell and alsm omy face" means i am worried about delivering this baby within the next 2/3 weeks!!!! he just seems to be ridiculously concerned if jacob's gro bags haven't been put back in his room in the morning FGS...

anyway, enough of that rantin, we picked up the new car on saturday morning! it's lovely although dh is rather more in love with it than i am!

more later

Went to the church service today. She had already been buried this morning. There were 100's of people so all friends had to stand outside with a speaker so we could hear the service. It is a lovely chapelly type church on a hill surrounded by fields so it was as bleak as bleak could be. We arrived at 1-30pm and the service was 2 'til 2-45pm-was frozen. So very sad and her 12 year old daughter gave a little reading. Just find it so sad that the girls won't be able to make Mother's Day cards any more at school.

Anyway, on a brighter note I lost 4 lb at WW so that is the 3 lb I put on last week plus the pound I still needed to lose from Christmas. Am now bang on goal again.

Hope all reasonable OK-will catch up tomorrow.

HC
x

thefortbuilder · 25/02/2008 20:58

HC how and heart wrenching. the only way to look at it is that they have a grave to visit and look after and can do this on mothers' day instead of cards - i know it sounds like an obtuse way of looking at it but i'm sure there's some logic there somewhere.

all generally well here - ante natal checkup and although my ankles are swelling all else is still ok!

MaeWest · 25/02/2008 21:09

How sad HC, hope you are ok Sorry that you're feeling worried about being off the ADs. Have you ever had any counselling for your depression? I think finding time for yourself to do something that really makes you happy is important too.

spin - love to you and Roshi xxx

pixel - will search out the Bristol lot...

kbaby · 25/02/2008 22:38

Had a lucky escape yesterday. I was on the settee and DS was chasing the cat, after a while I thought he'd gone quiet so went to check on him. As I passed the hall I noticed the front door open. I sprinted up the drive and found my neighbour also doing the same. DS had gone on to the road in his pj's and was calling the cat. It was so lucky that I checked when I did and also that the neighbour saw him from her window. Its horrible to think what couldve been.

Bloss-They definetly look alike, same face shape, hair, features.

DS has now decided that he has to come down the stairs on his own(sliding on tum) has to have a whole breadstick(not allowed to be snapped in half) and has to have banana still in its skin. If you try and give him the opposite of what he wants all hell breaks lose, hes so contrary.

HC - are you enjoying lost?
Bloss- Glad things are going well for you. I have the opposite as my teams performance is shit and we arent doing so well. Youll have to give me some tips.

Twinkle- I cant believe how much aidan is saying. Ds prob says about 20 words. He still only calls everyone mam even dh. He can say woof, oink, ball, book, baloon etc he says a new word once and then never says it again. He sings to old mcdonald which is sweet he goes ah ah ah ah oh a orm, to the tune and if you watch baby einstein with him he points at the tv and says the animal with half the letters missing ie horse is hore, cow is ow etc. BTW DS is on 25th centile for height, think he was 79cms and 5.5F in shoes. Did they measure him laying down for his 1yr check and then sanding up now as that can make diference?

Spin- Sorry to hear your taking a break. I hope roshi soon gets over whatever it is. xxxx see you soon.

Annie- loving the name

HC- Sorry about your friend.

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/02/2008 09:45

KBaby how scary for you! Glad he is ok. BTW I might be doing all the right things activity wise at work, but haven't actually sold anything yet!! And that is the issue - have till June to make my target and i'm getting scared.....

HC that sounds heartrending, god I welled up at the 12 year doing a reading - I expect the teachers will encourage them to make a card anyway, don't you think?

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 26/02/2008 11:05

Morningsszzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Kbaby, OMG, TG you got there. Your heart must have nearly stopped. Lucky all is well though, phew.

HC . Hope you're ok missus. Agree with Mae, some HC Time for you.
Excellent weight loss! Hurrah!! That'd cheer me up!

Flick, get those feet up!! Thanks for the offer of the milk, but I honestly can't see us getting to Clapham this week! Would be lovely to meet you though!!! Would you not just drink it yourself to use it up? (Says the one who dumped 4 litres of soya milk last week...)
K got through three bottles of it again last night, leaked her nappy twice... ridiculous. I'm going to start watering it down again soon, see if I can wean her off it at night time. It's the only thing that shuts her up though usually. That and singing 'rockabye baby', where you have to stand and swing her, and she wriggles until she's in the proper baby position. 'Rockby baby again mammy' 'Again mammy' 'Again mammy''again mammy'...
Her skin's not too bad at the moment though.

Well, work I spose. THat's why I'm here...

Toodles

thefortbuilder · 26/02/2008 11:30

HC have you ever had counselling for the depression? might help if you are trying to come off the ADs? hugs to you in any case my dear xxxxx

Kbaby my heart would've been in my mouth - little houdini you have there! jacob would be out the door in a flash as well if he could. latest is climbing 3/4 up the stairs and then stopping turning round and standing not holding onto anything and grinning. my heart jumps every time he does it.

annie i just don't drink enough of the stuff! although saying that i hve to stay in for my new mobile (replacement for old one jacob finally killed on friday night) all day today (courier delivery slot 830-5!) so i will be making myself lots of hot chocolate so will tell you how much i get through!

not much else to report here - ankles are nicely swollen now as are wrists so just keeping fingers crossed now. MIL is due to arrive on 15 march so we are bringing that forward to 10 march which is 32.2 weeks just in case.
