Like the change flick Hey, don't fret about asking questions-not actually TTC until May so it would have been an immaculate conception.

like the name too!

Toby doesn't have a full set of teeth yet and he's nearly 3! Some children's teeth just seem to take a lot longer to grow in.

Made chicken casserloe for dc for 1st time today and they wolfed it down- success! They are usually not so good at eating chicken so am really pleased!

TheGoddessBlossom · 19/02/2008 20:30

went really well thanks HC you lovely supportive bod you. First sniff of someone actually buying sometehing too, you never know........

Just come back from a very pleasant hour talking about my two lovely boys at parent's evening at nursery. In summary, my boys are marvellous little angels that they adore but I'm sure they are saying the same thing to all the parents. Got some cheese and wine out of it too, result!

Soph mine love chicken casserole too, made one last night for Dh and I actually, snap!

My goodness, just found out a girl I worked with at the Bank dropped dead on Thursday aged 39. Had 2 little girls. It said donations to Heart Research UK so perhaps she had a heart attack.

o'h HC so for you and her family.

well, after working out the amount we have to put aside for tax and making it 25% of the total instead of 40% of the total, a minor panic spread through the flick household last night, although Dh managed to stay calm and not lose his rag over it which was a miracle! so anniversary meal went fine and without a screaming match as is generally the norm in our house at the moment

consultants appointment this morning.....bp fine and everything else ok but i was seen by a registrar as apparently my consultant is away AGAIN. I am so cross - rant alert - she asked me if i had considered birth options. when i replied i had been told pretty much from the start i would be delivering sometime around 32 weeks and i wouldn't be induced so i figured another section was on the cards she started explaining birth options for full term births to me. I eventually had to say in an incredibly sarcastic manner "this is my second child, i did all my research with my first child so i know what the birth options are for non pre-eclampsia full term low risk deliveries are. Will you be offering me a water birth as well?" the woman just pissed me off so much. so anyway, i ended up pretty much shouting at her and demanding that next time i am there i see my consultant and no one else (even after my growth scan last time i didn't see my consultant).

I know i was being a bit unreasonable, but i might as well have gone to see my GP for a bp check all the good it did me going to the hospital today! And then she forgot to do my blood tests which are supposed to be every 4 weeks, which i only remembered after i'd left, so that's another thing i'll hve to get done at the GPs next week.

sorry rant over!

anyway, jacob is back eating well again and has so far this week slept through 3 nights in a row! bet that's it for this week though...

PixelHerder · 20/02/2008 17:01

Hi Girls ? am going to post in Parts (as in Part 1 and 2) as this will be monstrous otherwise as I?m so behind, so here goes with Part 1?

Mae ? is it your birthday?!

Bloss ? you supermum whizz you Fab that the job?s going well. Great too that the boys are getting on so well at nursery, nice that they take the time to discuss their progress with you, I don?t think all nurseries are so good about that. Beeeyotiful pics of the boys, and yes, do grow their hair!

HC ? blimey, how awful, did you know her well?

Soph ? lovely pics of your lo?s, they look like great fun!

Re teeth, there are still some back molars to come, but it?s so hard to get her to open her mouth to have a look, you have to be quick and peek when she?s laughing/howling with her mouth open

Flick ? grrrrr re the registrar, how rubbish!

Kbaby ? lovely one of James, love his hair! Bless him, I bet he won?t be so obedient to his sis once he gets a bit bigger!

Instalment 2 to follow?

thefortbuilder · 20/02/2008 18:01

on the subject of teeth, we have 4 at the front top and bottom and then the very far back molars are pretty all through on both sides top and bottom, but it doesn't look like he has room for 2 more teeth each side top and bottom! do I make sense (about this i mean i know i don't in general )

we are picking up our new car on saturday - after having to chase round the service guys that have done the last 3 services and get them to stamp the book i made the garage that has done the last 2 (it's a local one) send someone out to do it - they said "you'll have to bring the book into us madam" - so in my stroppy mood i replied "no you'll have to sort this out as I don't drive, I have a 19 month old and I'm pregnant and you were supposed to stamp the book and haven't. I don't have to do anything!"

and another poor woman came the object of my wrath today......she picked up her dog poo in a bag a bit further up the street from our house and then proceeded to open our wheelie bin lid and put her bag in my wheelie bin! so i challenged her about it and ended up having a bit of an argument with her about it. AIBU to think that's no on? it's not a public bin and there are plenty or litter bins along our street or she could take it home and put it in her bin. so she made some remark about baby nappies so i responded that they go in MY bin, no one else's! unless it's a designated nappy change place with a yellow liner in the bin for a proper nappy bin....

Man it's been one of those days, maybe DH is right, pregnant women ARE mean

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/02/2008 19:34

fuckin ell flick, I think you have every right for every one of your rants, and as for thet woman putting HER dogshit in MY wheelie bin, well, I think she got off lightly TBH! I'd have gone bloody SKITZOID!! Have a completely unreasionable hatred of dog poo as anyone on who was on this thread and read my incident with harry, sandals, huge pile of steaming dogshit in a pub's kiddie's playground will remember, but despite my bias, would still have given a right bloody gobful. Cheeky cow. Oooh I'm all hot under the collar writing this!!!

Another really good meeting today, with at least a small % chance of them actually engaging my company, DESPITE me thinking the meeting was at 2pm when it was 1.30pm (I'd arranged it as well, what a muppet, so unprofessionl) so HOON ED it there and managed to only be 10 minutes late. Phew. Things are getting busier and busier which is great, my luxury of one of my three days being at home is les likely in the weeks to come, so housework and jobs will slip but if it means some commission then hurray!! I have to share with you, which I wouldn't to RL friends, but my bosses are really happy with my efforts, and are constantly praising what I am doing, comparing me favourably with my counterparts, telling me how good I am with people, it's unreal, so confidence boosting! Even if I sell nothing in the near future, so happy I decided to go back to work, it's just so freeing and the best decision I could have made, I love it....[happy]

Sorry you are arguing loads Flick. Must be stressful for you. Is he being an arse or do you think you are bing hyper sensitive?

Bloss

xx

ceebee74 · 20/02/2008 19:44

HC - so about your colleague. 39 is so young (gosh I am only 5 years that myself). Just goes to show that you should live life now doesn't it?

Flick - you appear to have become very assertive recently - is this due to being pg or have you always been like this but we have never seen that side of you before ?

Bloss - so glad you are happy with your decision to go back to work and well done for getting so much praise. Going back to work was one of the best decisions I made although it felt so wrong at the start (and my job is still pretty crap at the mo) but I still enjoy going to work iyswim.

Teeth - Josh now has 12 so only another 8 to go. He has all his top teeth apart from the very back molars on either side (his canines look so cute as they only came through about a month ago so all you can see are little points) and his front 2 bottom teeth and the first bottom molar on either side.

Looking forward to the Brits tonight x

PixelHerder · 20/02/2008 20:07

oooh isn't Mika fab, just love that catchy campery

thefortbuilder · 20/02/2008 20:30

bloss i think i'm being a little hyper sensitive but also he is being an arse - like our builders started on friday and left a real mess in our upstairs bathroom that we said they could use. i only use that bathroom for showering in the morning and that was before the builders had got there. so on saturday dh comes down like a diva saying OMG that bathroom is filthy its disgusting and looks at me accusingly like it's my fault. so i said i'm really sorry you have had to be the one to find it but i've not been up there since i showered yesterday morning, before you. Did you really think that if i found it like you have said it was I'd have left it? AND he had to think before he answered!!!!!

it's just small things in general that we argue about and it's always when jacob has had a bad nights sleep so we are a bit sleep deprived - he DOES NOT COPE with having broken sleep any more - god help us in a few weeks time!

And ceebee i've always been quite assertive but even more so now - i feel quite protective i nthis pregnancy because of how bad things got so quickly with jacob and that i very almost had a stroke after he was born - for a registrar to then talk to me as if i'm an f'ing idiot just grates. and the dog poo thing, although we live in clapham the bit we live in has a real community feel about it which i really like so i guess i feel more ready to keep with that?

actually the whole thing about the wheelie bin, dh saw someone putting their rubbish in it a few months ago and actually went out into the street and yelled down the street to conront the man and his awful wife who had done it. he made the guy take it out as well! I think we are a bit anal about this kind of thing, but dog poo really takes the biscuit!

anyway, jacob has gone to sleep and i'm going to put my feet up for a little while with some chocolate digestives before i have an earlyish night. dh is at the arsenal game with clients.

hve a lovely evening everyone - hope everyone else ok

xxxx

Twinklemegan · 20/02/2008 23:16

I'll warn you now, this is a mammoth post.

I'm a bit behind the times here, but Wallace - how terrifying?! I'd like to think it'd be the same around here if Aidan ever went walkabout, god forbid. He wouldn't meet anyone before meeting the road though - it doesn't bear thinking about.

Cuddlies - Aidan has a little blue horse (well it's a donkey apparently) called, imaginatively, Horsey. He is really attached to him - he must have Horsey and his beaker of water with him when he goes to bed. Touch wood, he settles like a dream almost every night.

Words - Aidan has in the region of 35 I think. Favourite word at the moment is "choo-choo" - the boy is obsessed with trains. He started recognising himself a couple of months ago I'd say. He points to his chest and says "Ayda" - photos too, he'll point out Dada, Mama and Ayda. He's just starting to string words together, but he's been saying Hi for quite a while now - he's worked these out himself. He's never heard me say Hi Bear, for example. He's definitely getting the idea of possession as well - as in Mama! (pointing), meaning Mummy's whatever.

Beadmum - how did it go with the house viewing?

OK, we've done weights (Aidan's 24lb with no clothes on). What about heights then? I got Aidan measured yesterday when he went for his pneumococcal vaccination and he was 79cm. ie he's gone from the 50th to the 9th centile in 6 months. I'm more than a little concerned, although I'm sure he's grown more than 3cm so I think maybe the 1 year measurement was wrong? His weight is somewhere between the 25th and 50th centiles, allowing for clothes, yet he's perfectly in proportion.

After writing that, I've just seen Us's posts about Zack. Where is he on the centiles for weight Us? Is it his height or his weight causing concern?

Aidan's shoe size (to pick up on Soph28's question) is 3.5F, the same as when he got his shoes back in November. He's slowly growing out of them, and we reckon he'll need the next size up in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping all this means is that he'll be cheap to keep in terms of clothes and shoes.

Lol at Bloss and kbaby's LOs and the DVDs. Aidan is like that with his Thomas the Tank DVD that he got for Christmas (and there was me so proud that he hardly ever watched TV ). Given half a chance he switches on the DVD player, takes out the DVD and puts it in the machine - little monkey.

Annie - sorry to hear about Kayley's allergies. That must be really difficult for you. Sorry to hear of Jacob's difficulties too Lysette - poor little mite.

Kbaby - I'm loving your DS's hair. I really must take Aidan to the hairdresser as his is defeating my limited skills now. And DH will keep brushing it with a side parting so he looks like he's walked out of the 1950's!

Gorgeous photos Bloss!

Spin - sorry to hear about poor Roshi as well. Was there a chance then that it would go without surgery? Eek at the spiders.

Oh God, I've only just got up to my exclamation at how many posts! I'll have to call it a night and pick up tomorrow.

Oh btw, you remember that house we lost out on. Well we got a sheepish call from the estate agent today saying that the sale mightn't go through and are we still interested! They left a message and I just can't wait to phone them tomorrow and tell them where to stick it . Sssh, but we've found another one and proceedings are well on the way - I'm saying no more though until we have the keys.

OP posts:
ceebee74 · 21/02/2008 06:56

Twinkle - great news about the house - keeping my fingers crossed for you.

In terms of height and weight centiles, Josh is in between the 25th and 50th centile for weight but is only between 9th and 25th centile for height (despite being on the 50th centile for the first few months) so very similar to Aidan - so I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you. Josh is also perfectly proportioned (if you turn a blind eye to the pot belly he seems to develop in an evening ) and very healthy and that is the most important thing.

Josh's shoe size is 4E which we bought him nearly 5 months ago and they still fit - I took him to be measured a couple of weeks ago and she said he had gone upto a 4.5 but, being the skinflint I am, I didn't get him any new shoes as his old ones still fit - he can have some new ones when his toes start pushing through the end.

Right, must go and wake Josh up and get ready for work

x

HumphreysCorner · 21/02/2008 09:42

Soph is only size 2.5 shoes which will make buying sandals a nightmare as they start at a 4. Em was a 5 at this age.

Me and my friend are going to the funeral-she kept in touch with her but even though I haven't seen her for a few years I still want to go.

Going to a play centre again today so will be fun. Will try and catch up later.

yes HC when is the funeral?

well jacob is 11th centile for height and 60th ish for weight but doesn't look out of proportion at all - he's solid but has no fat o nhim (but being prem never has!) also in size 4.5 shoes here so he seems to be comparative to everyone else's lo's?

i forgot to give him any medised before bed last night as he's been having areaction to the anti inflammatories - temp and screaming and holding his head so i'm guessing a headache, and sure enough 1045 he woke up yelling hot and clutching his head. and he was so upset he came down with us and literally fell asleep sitting up in bed! poor little man, only a week left of them so hopefully he'll be better after that. in himself he's generally absolutely fine though, and potters around like normal

not much else to report here so i'll be off

Funeral is Monday at 2pm. Found out that she had a rare heart condition that she was unaware of and her husband went up to the sewing room in the morning and found her dead in the chair. So dreadfully sad-keep thinking how awful it must have been telling her 2 girls when they got home from school.

Oh HC, how sad

Pixel - yep it was my 30th birthday yesterday, had a lovely day and we're going out for a meal on Saturday. I was thinking last night how much fuller and happier my life is than when I turned 20

Dom has 4G size feet, which is fairly dinky for his height I think. We did get his shoes back in Nov so prob news ones soon, must get them checked again.

Twinkle - fingers crossed for the house

Flick - I became completely impatient and didn't take any shit (lil reference to the dog poo incident there ) when I was pg. Bit of the lioness coming out in you there? Hope all continues well and that Sam hangs on in there as long as poss

thefortbuilder · 21/02/2008 14:34

where is everyone else???? Annie are you ok, Impy, kbaby, prettymum and anyone else who's name escapes me in my preg head state right now?????

jacob has taken to trying to undress himself...

also words coming along well now although the coughing at night is getting worse again so it wakes him up at around 11pm - he was in with us from 1030 last night but then slept all the way through - go figure!

the loft is coming along well and they think 3-4 weeks so if i can keep my legs crossed for long enough they'll be done before sam is home!

not much else to report - i've got yet another head cold from jacob which is probably why his cough isn't getting any better - he gives it to me then i give it back to him because i cna't take anything for it.

Mum and dad came to pick Sophie up and insisted on taking me out to a garden centre and have lunch there too so had a fab day. They think I need perking up-bless. I am very down at the moment but do not want to go on AD's for the rest of my life even though it would help. On a good note we are collecting our new caravan tomorrow so building up enthusiasm as I write.

Em staying at SIL's tonight so things are chilled. Didn't sleep very well last night as my mind was churning so will get an early night tonight.

Had to change Sophie's nappy in the car earlier and it was a whopper. Managed to drop it on the car seat. DH pleased it was the passenger side as he never sits there.

Sorry it's all me, me, me.

Oh HC how sad about your friend

Happybirthday maeweat!

Leo is a sie 4.5, which is quite small, but my feet are only size 3 (just!) I'm wondering what size he might be next winter because the www.muddypuddles.co.uk website has therir snowboots reduced to a tenner (from 18.50) and it might be worth getting organised. I'm thinking maybe a size 6...
