Lysette - glad things are going well with your pg.

Annie - glad there's been a little improvement on the sleep front, and on the DH front too . Must be rough for K to be so itchy at night - Dom on the other hand has no such excuse, he's just an awkward cuss! Although we have been trying a slightly different tack here - DH does 'early' waking, so anything before about 1am and then I do anything after this. Today DS didn't have milk until after 6am . I'm also giving in and admitting that I'm tired and have been going to bed really early, even if it means I'm spending less time with DH in the short term.

HumphreysCorner · 08/02/2008 20:23

lysettes-good news on the scan. Methinks you are going to have an Emma as she kicked like a maniac in my tummy.

soph-well done Chloe. Sophie is now a staggering 23 lb so has gain 2 lb in the las few months.

Em went back to school today and is 100% well thank goodness. Sophie is improving slightly.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Annie- you're right- Kayley and Chloe are virtual twins! Has Kayley got eczema? Chloe doesn't have any excuse for waking up at night but she sill does a couple times a week (or more).

Lysette- I feel ok- getting tired again now, especially as I get heartburn and restless legs at night! Also no tummy muscles left so if I do a lot of walking/bending/lifting I really feel it!
Mine is a little kicker too- sometimes I wonder how they can move so fast- like someone playing the drums inside your tum!

HC- Thanks! I think I did tell you all I was pg but it was AGES ago- but then again I might not have, I did feel very rough in 1st trimester.
Chloe is 20lbs (had her weighed last Friday). I feel a bit guilty though cos she's been in a big car seat for the last 9mths and she's only just reached the weight= oops

jacobandlysetteandabump · 09/02/2008 05:43

soph i have just started to get heartburn again - had it a few weeks ago and had to dig out the gaviscon tabs. i've found that having an activia yoghurt before bed really helps, especially as i'm eating loads of oranges and clementines at the moment which really irritates the acid!

am so arsed of with dh at the moment - he is in NY on their annual partners conference and not only did he proudly proclaim to me when he got in at 530 local time last night (so 1030 this morning) that he had been a good boy (FFS does he think this is something out of the ordinary????), but he also saw fit to call me at 4am this morning asking if we were still asleep. AND NOW I CAN'T GET BACK TO SLEEP . And it's sods law that jacob is sleeping away peacefully and probably will continue to do so till 8am!!!!!

sorry for the rant, i relish my sleep when jacob sleeps through becuase he's been so up and down with it with molars coming through at the moment that it's really p'd me off.

spin i think i forgot to say happy anniversary! hope you had fun....

Gla d the pgs are going well Yey Lysette for hanging on in there

Somebody asked about weight? Leo is around 14kg I think. Was a bit more but lost a lot of weight with D&V, but has regaind most of it I think

MaeWest · 09/02/2008 19:36

How do you know how much they weigh at this age?

DS sometimes climbs on the scales in the bathroom to try and reach things on the shelf and the needle seems to hover just over 2 stone...

Wallace · 09/02/2008 19:39

I know what Leo weighs because the HV comes to our toddler group and I bung him on the scales to give us all a laugh

Leo's lastest escapade (literally) here

soph28 · 09/02/2008 21:13

Lysette- dh thinks you're ace cos he was reading your post over my shoulder and he's been trying to get me to eat those activia yoghurts for ages- he eats them all the time - no I don't!!! (added DH) But he does

I would kill dh if he called at 4am!

Mae- I hadn't had Chloe weighed since she was about a year but if you take them along to the HV clinic they will still weigh them for you- up to any age. Older ones can be weighed on standing scales. Chloe still goes on the baby ones!

Wallace- leo weighs 5kg more than Chloe!!! In fact he weighs more than Toby and he's nearly 3! I must have midgets!

don't know how i managed to post that twice!

Wallace · 09/02/2008 21:27

Don't worry soph, Leo is only a couple of kg lighter than my 6 year old dd I have BIG boys and a tiny girl

soph28 · 09/02/2008 22:52

ok that sounds more like it!

Leo must be tall though cos he doesn't look big in any of your pics- he looks gorgeous!

Twinklemegan · 09/02/2008 23:02

Hello everyone. I've just scanned through all your posts and I'll try to keep up better I promise. Hope everyone's well and the two pregnant ladies in particular.

Jeez Wallace just read your story. Terrifying! And there was me wishing we had a garden so I didn't have to trapse to the playground with Ry every day! Maybe you should invest in some eyeball-scanning, 15-digit password security gates.... So glad it all turned out ok and Leo's fine - does sound like you live in a lovely, looking-out-for-each-other type place.

Glad both pregnant ladies are doing well.

Hugs to the rest of ya. Impy xxx

Blimey Wallace-how utterly frightening. I am having to check on Sophie more now that the girls are playing outside as Em wouldn't always think to shut doors behind her.

Hi to everyone. Hasn't the weather been glorious today? Makes you feel so much better. Can't stop making cakes and eating them.

Love to all.

Wallace just read your story about Leo. That kind of thing is so scary. I remember the feeling well when I thought I had lost Toby in a park last summer- we were with friends with older children and I thought he was with them while I was keeping an eye on Chloe but he wasn't! It wasn't long after Madeleine McCann so I kept thinking about that and I couldn't believe he had wandered out of my sight in such a short space of time. Luckily he had just gone to another section of the park to play in the wendy house. It is utterly heart stopping though- thank goodness Leo was fine!

HC- I am ridiculously happy about the weather just goes to show how awful it's been. We've been out for more walks, trips to park etc in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 4 months! According to the forecast this week should be quite good too!

Wallace- where do you live again? It is Scotland isn't it?

ceebee74 · 11/02/2008 08:25

Morning all

Will try and catch up on everyone's posts whilst I have been away later.

Wallace - how v v scary for you. Am so glad it had a happy ending though

Had a lovely weekend with my brother, his gf and my gorgeous 2-month old nephew. He is such a happy baby although they kept telling us he was grumpy . He weighs nearly 15lb already but the first time I lifted him up, he felt like a helium balloon as he seemed so much lighter than Josh (although he is only about 11lb lighter!). Josh was really good with him aswell - kept stroking his head and kissing him and didn't try to pinch his dummy once .

Anyway, off to meet some MN friends today so better get moving.

soph28 · 11/02/2008 11:22

Morning all,

Really, really misty here today! Had a mammoth moving rooms session last night- moved Toby and Chloe out of their small room to make room for baby and into guest room, moved guest room into playroom and all the toys into their new bedroom! How is it possible to have so much junk- we ended up chucking out loads of stuff!

Chloe seems exhausted at the moment- I had to put her back to bed at 8.45am cos she was so grumpy and kept falling over. She slept for over an hour- and I thought she had dropped her morning nap.

Have made mashed potatoes for lunch but don't know what they're going to have with them!

CB- i have a 5mth old nephew- he's gorgeous too but he IS really grumpy! I hope my new baby is not as grumpy

Morning ladies

Kayley's face is much improved, thanks to the steroid creams. She still itches her hands at night, hence still wakes a lot, but compared to the horror of last week, it's been pretty good the last few nights.
All I can say is: Chinese Herbal Medicine MY ARSE.

So until the next flare up...

Wallace, how terrifying for you. Lucky you live where you do though, not worth thinking about how much worse it could have been.

Soph, yes poor K has chronic eczema, last week was a particularly bad flare up caused by an attempt at some herbal remedies... stupidly. Actually it was MIL's suggestion. I will blame her. Stuped woman...
Sounds like you have a lot on! How old is Toby? Hope you are getting your feet up.

CB Josh sounds gorgeous!! Won't he be a brilliant big brother! So cute the way they love to kiss and cuddle at this age.

Mae, good idea to sleep-share!! I got two lie-ins over the weekend, so I feel a bit less exhausted. Still up half the night though, so it didn't really make that much difference! How is Dom sleeping now?

HC, glad Emma is better,

Better go ladies, lots to do...

Morning morning morning.

Thanks so much for all my birthay wishes girls, 33 eh, feel ancient. Dh paid for me to have my ahir cut on Saturday which was bliss, and I got loads of cards and presents from friends which was really nice.

wallace, poor you, so so so glad lovely Leo is fine, how terrifying!

Having a COMPLETE nightmare at the moment doing the boys' first passports. It has taken about 6 weeks to collate all the info needed (photos of both, forms completed, my passport, DH's passport number, cheques, 2 long birth certificates, policeman friend to sign, his passport number etc etc etc) Queued for 45 mins in Post Office on Friday with both kids, to be told forms filled in with wrong pen, cheques made out to worng person, photos inadmissable (had gone to a passport photo shop to do them at great expense) and generally was back to square one. Nearly cried with frustration.

Day in London yesterday, feet were killing me, must buy more comfy boots. day at home today which is lovely, been swimming this morning, got nails being done at lunchtime, might even do some work in the middle (after MN) of course.

Toby all better now, he is being very adorable at the moment. Sits on your lap, says "Duddle!" (cuddle) and buries his head in your neck. He is talking so much, "Help, More, Harry, Don't know, apple, nana, yum yums, Poppa, Nannie, book, Po Po Pat," etc, can make himself perfectly understood.

Right better do some work, glad pregasauruses are all fine and Kayley's face has calmed down Annie.

Morning ladies

Am painting again in the bathroom upstairs-DH will go ballistic!

Bloss-passports are a nightmare but thankfully I managed to get them accepted. Well, with Sophie's I forgot to send the birth certificate the first time.
Glad you had a happy B'Day.

Annie-hope Kayley's skin is a tad more bearable.

Sophie is not really talking any sense. I understand her but I think the time has come to ignore her to try and get her to say proper words. Oh, she can say geys (keys) as she has a major mini obsession with them.

Righty ho, off to have a cuppa and put some washing in.

Before I go can you tell me if I have a right to feel narked with DH? He has started playing squash once a week at night which I don't mind but has now taken up 10 pin bowling again and has joined a league team so is going there once a week at night as well. I always seem to be left to sort the girls out in a evening. I know I should take something up and turn round and tell him he will have to babysit but TBH I am too knackered at night to do anything. Not a lot I can do but just have a bit of a gripe about it.

Bye for now.

Hi all

Have been trying to sort out DS's passport for, ooh, about 6 months? . I will get it sorted out. Hope the photo is ok tho, he was such a good boy in the booth and he looks sooo cute

Annie - glad K is less itchy

spin - yes, he does have a lovey, a little soft plush cow, called imaginatively 'cow'. He's had it since he was tiny, but recently seems to be getting more attached to it, and tickles its ears whilst thumb sucking to go sleep. He'll sometimes settle with a 'here's cow' and a pat in the night, other times not so good (like 4am this morning )

ceebee74 · 12/02/2008 13:03

HC - I think you do have a right to be a little bit annoyed with DH but if you say anything to him, no doubt he will turn round and tell you to take up a hobby which you have said yourself. A bit of a 'no-win' situation I think.

Annie - this weekend showed that Josh is going to make a fantastic big brother - but unfortunately another baby is not proving as easy to 'make' as Josh was. Got my AF yesterday (again!) so not v happy at the moment

Spin - just to make you feel better (not!), it is absolutely gorgeous here - the sun is shining, it is lovely and warm and not a rain cloud in sight

Josh has about 20 words (ish) but very few are recognisable to the outside world (a bit like Sophie) - although he can now say Josh (well 'Jish') when he looks in a mirror or if you ask him what his name is. Shame we didn't call him Bob as he can say that perfectly

Going to take Josh out for a walk to the newsagents when he wakes up - first time we have ventured out properly with his reins on so hopefully he will walk properly (we tried them briefly this weekend but he ended up hanging there like a Thunderbird puppet ).
