Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
justbeme · 05/12/2007 16:52

oh Thanks for the thoughts... now im confused!!! - I think I'll get DP to try it now and if not we'll chuck it!!

HellHathNoFury · 05/12/2007 17:10

Holly is right ... I am just naughty

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 05/12/2007 17:28

Thanks Holly. I was thinking of getting the milk bath powder but had no idea how good they were.

Sputnik · 05/12/2007 17:34

There you go, chuck the left over SMA in tyhe bath.

Ignore me folks

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 05/12/2007 17:41

Why would we ignore you Sputnik, you've got such good humour

Sputnik · 05/12/2007 17:53

Thanks

But why has it taken me several months to figure out the the reason Baby Sputnik doesn't like his gym much is because there's a hard floor underneath? Put a quilt and a towel down and he is loving it!

British wall to wall carpeting is much more baby friendly, til it's time for potty training.

IsawBUMPERkissingsantaclaus · 05/12/2007 17:54

Lol sputnik.

So jbm are you just going to wait and see if DP keels over before feeding the milk to the LO?

foxythesnowman · 05/12/2007 18:37

you should probably chuck it, though I'm not sure if the danger is in the milk or the teat iyswim.

I DESERVE that medal! LOL!

What about oatmeal in the bath for dry, sensitive skin? Womder if it would help - its recommended when they have chicken pox.

Hi everyone. Have caught up but it's taken me ages (have been reading bits since this morning) and I've forgotten everything already!

I wouldn't use the ff as bacteria breeds in warm milk. It would be ok if it hadn't been heated and the rest of the carton was kept in the fridge but I would only use warmed milk for an hour after it was first reheated.

Daisy, sorry to hear your DM isn't too good, I'm sure she'll appreciate seeing you.

Sorry to hear about crappy nights' sleep and stroppy toddlers (fwiw I have one of those too so can definitely sympathise)

Tee hee at all the suggested secret santa gifts. If only mine was so original.

Sorry, I really can't remember everything else, brain like a sieve these days!

Have had crappy 'bath and bed' time here as DS pooed diahorrea all over his sheepskin as I bathed DD. Frantic spot-washing and hair-drying of the sheepskin took nearly an hour while he got more and more tired and angry (he won't sleep if he's not lying on it). Hence DS was taken up tp bed at same time as DD, who then proceeded to go to the sink and pour soapy water all over her clean pjs in the milliseconds that it took me to put DS in his cot. I am one very unimpressed mummy! I will be on Urchin buying a spare sheepskin this evening and bugger the cost as I can't go through that again, and they usually take several days to dry so by using a hairdryer I have probably wrecked it anyway. And all this was caused by me stupidly giving DS some mashed raspberries at lunchtime, which he loved but which clearly his tummy didn't! Sorry, I really needed to vent. Phew, I feel better now.

I hope everyone else has has better days?

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2007 19:40

and after all that I went and posted the damned message twice [mutter, mutter, mutter]

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:15

Is no-one around?

SO glad for you Foxy that you've been discharged.....

justbeme · 05/12/2007 20:19

Im here - Did you have work today Norty?

Sorry to hear about your bedtime woes Fairy - I remember that bedtime can be THE most stressful times of the day as they get older. Maybe I wont mind going back to work 2/3 evenings a week!!

Bumper, it did read as though I was going to formula feed DP didnt it!? (well he's flatly refused BM!!)

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:22

Hi JBM - yes work today, but not tomorrow ....enjoying the part-time bit

My opinion is prob a bit late, but I agree with the other FF's on here - warm up once and throw away what isn't drunk

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2007 20:34

Hi Norty and JBM

Norty - how are you finding being back at work? Has DD settled at nursery?

DD has just woken up again

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2007 20:35

andiem if you're around, sorry but I can't now make Buggyfit tomorrow, I will definitely give it a go in the new year but everything's very hectic at the mo. Sorry

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:41

Hi Fairy.....work is fine actually....much better than I thought I would be. DD seems to be OK at nursery as well. I get a little written report each day about what she has been up to

todays says "Today I have been rolling around on the floor, I've enjoyed a lovely story and I've had lots of cuddles" etc etc and "for my lunch I had pea puree and peach puree"

Its just such a relief that all is OK - here and at work....my brain hasn't completely gone to mush

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2007 20:43

That sounds like a lovely nursery . Really lovely that you get a little report each day and I'm glad things are working out so well at work as you seemed quite stressed about going back. I'm certain that my brain has turned to mush. I'd be terrified to go back at the moment

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:43

Everyones toddlers do seem to be playing up atm......cos Xmas is coming.....have I got all this to look forward to....

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/12/2007 20:46

I don't think my DD's behaviour is christmas related tbh, I think it's just because she's 2 and, that's what 2 year olds do as they realise that they can be disobedient and decide that they don't always want to do what mummy and daddy say. To be fair, she is pretty good most of the time but when she's naughty, she's horrid! One of her nursery assistants describes her as 'small but very determined'!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:46

I have to say my job has come back to me with alarming ease ...like riding a bike and all that ...I'm sure it would be the same for you

I certainly was stressed about it.....my anxiety really pulls me down sometimes.....despite the ADs....but hopefully things will improve a bit now.....then it'll all go tits up with DD when she's teething etc I'm sure

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:47

LOL at "small and determined"....both me and DH have very strong personalities so god help DD

foxythesnowman · 05/12/2007 20:49

yep, Norty!

feel for you fairy - its by far the worse time of day. I remember many tears at tea time (mine, that is).

justbeme · 05/12/2007 20:49

Aww Norty, that sounds like everythings going well!!! I too like the report - what did you think about the "cuddles" bit - did you immediately think - "oh thats nice theyre looking after her" or were you jealous? Personally - straight away i'd be jealous and then when I'd thought about it, I'd think c'mon get over it - it shows that they care!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/12/2007 20:50

Do you remember that rhyme "there was a little girl with a little curl right in the middle of her forehead, when she was good, she was very very good, but when she was bad, she was horrid" .....is this what having DDs is all about ....I love children with a bit of personality! Must be very trying sometimes (don't mean to be flippant )
