@Scotti84 no routine as such and can really vary, he does like to feed as regularly as 2-2.5 hours still most of the time but today for example he fell asleep and went 4.5 hours.

3 - 3.5 hours stretches are fine for him if we are going out so he is occupied but at home I do think it's more habit almost to feed more frequently.

Don't get me started on during the night 🤣

MrsTD88 · 15/02/2022 22:10

Every 3 hours during the day here. Very lucky that's she's sleeping all night at the moment so 5 feeds throughout the day (formula fed)

GWhiteley · 16/02/2022 09:27

Still every 2 hrs during the day unless she falls asleep. The first time I put her down at night can be 3 hrs but then every 2-2.5 hrs after that. Rarely any longer but I've been told this is still very normal for her age!

Scotti84 · 16/02/2022 09:35

@GWhiteley @Bubbles1st @MrsTD88 thanks guys. I thought its a bit soon to be spacing too much out, we have a rough routine through the day, usually about every 3 hrs. I do find it quite hard when we go out for the day, especially with puree at lunch, finding somewhere to warm it etc. we're finally coming over to England in June, hope by then that there'll be a bit more space between feeds. Can't wait to take her to the coast!

Nights have been a nightmare, Lillys in leap 5, and don't I know it. She wakes every 2.5/3 hrs and i know im not supposed to feed her to get her back to sleep but it's the only thing that works! Teeth are on the way too! And don't don't me started on puree poops, another level! 😂🤮

AdventuresAwait · 16/02/2022 22:48

Hi all. Feeding every 2 hours in the day here. She'll be 6 months in 2 weeks so starting some solids then which is exciting! Xx

@Scotti84, we're in leap 5 here too and waking during the night. I'm feeding her when she wakes too. I didn't know we weren't supposed to? Sometimes she'll re-settle but often she seems to need a feed? Xx

I can't believe she's nearly 6 months. I think it's such a lovely stage xx

GWhiteley · 17/02/2022 02:12

@AdventuresAwait I too feed Alyssa each time she wakes in the night & she falls back to sleep. The majority of the time she wakes is cause she's hungry & only sometimes that she's just woken up.

How can you tell they're in a leap?

Alyssa will be 6 months in 11 days & I really can't believe it! Going on a weening course later today

Scotti84 · 17/02/2022 03:45

@AdventuresAwait i think if theyre hungry its obviously fine, but feeding them because theyll sleep easier isnt great incase they get used to it and get used to it and find it hard to fall asleep without. I think in a leap it all goes out the window though and we do what is needed at the time.

@GWhiteley i think Alyssa will also be in leap 5, theres an app called the wonder weeks, shows you when the leaps are, what baby learns at that leap and possible signs such as being more clingy and poor sleep etc. I find it really helpful to know what to expect and know its normal when she suddenly behaves different

AdventuresAwait · 17/02/2022 04:23

@GWhiteley, yes I also use the Wonder Weeks app.. it shows when developmental leaps occur, when they learn new skills and it affects their sleep etc. It goes by due date rather than birth date. I have the book too and it explains it all really well. For each leap, it gives the time period they could be affected so they may not be unsettled for the whole time but at some point in the leap. You put your details in the app so it works it out for your baby. I have found it to be accurate so far! And it tells you what they are learning & how you can support them in developing the skills each time.

AdventuresAwait · 17/02/2022 04:28

Yes I agree @Scotti84 that we do what we need to in the leaps!

@GWhiteley exciting about your course. I've been reading lots about weaning and really enjoying it. Got a first aid course a few days before she is 6 months & then we will get going. I feel like it's a big change. She is growing up so quickly!

Noodles4Me · 18/02/2022 15:37

My boy is 6 months tomorrow. He feeds every 4 hours during day, with lunch feed being baby food. He sleeps through...I.e midnight til 6am without needing a feed.

Trying him sleeping overnight in his own room next week. He naps in there fine so fingers crossed. I'll strangely miss him.

And yes, puree/big boy foods make some horrible poos! 😆

AdventuresAwait · 18/02/2022 19:12

@Noodles4Me, we were thinking of moving our little girl out of our room soon but not sure when. I'm definitely going to miss her being with us and not sure if that's why I'm putting it off!

Scotti84 · 19/02/2022 12:05

@Noodles4Me @AdventuresAwait im thinking of waiting until Lilly sleeps mostly through the night before we move her, I know ill get no sleep the first few days shes in her own room so need to find a good week with no appts etc too.

AdventuresAwait · 19/02/2022 21:03

That's a good idea @Scotti84. I'm quite happy with her being with us at the moment so I will probably wait too.

In other news, her first tooth came through today!

She also seems to have changed so much in the last few days xx

Scotti84 · 22/02/2022 14:01

@AdventuresAwait was it a bottom tooth? I think we've been on the edge of them breaking through for a bit now, seems to be taking forever.

I know what you mean about them changing, Lillys like a little lady already, shes deffo not a newborn anymore. She wants to talk and move about, poor lass gets so frustrated when she cant get where she wants to be.

AdventuresAwait · 22/02/2022 14:45

@Scotti84 yes it is a bottom one. We noticed she was chewing on everything so had a look and it was through the gum already!

Not much talking or wanting to move about though! Xx

CherLW · 23/02/2022 19:36

Just noticed we’re very close to being at the end of this thread!!

6 months on an I still feel like I need this group!

AdventuresAwait · 23/02/2022 19:51

Me too @CherLW! Though it's much quieter now, I still enjoy the chat and support.

How are you and Jesse? xx

CherLW · 23/02/2022 19:58

@AdventuresAwait me too, I always turn to this group for support, handy all our babies being similar in age 😊

We’re very good… Jesse is 6 months this Saturday! I feel like I blink and another month has gone by! He’s had a few foods but haven’t officially started yet.

How are you and Hettie? Xx

I might start a new group and post the link for whoever would like to join 😊

MrsTD88 · 23/02/2022 20:00

I'd love to join! I don't post much but I do follow along and enjoy everyone's updates 😊
