Thanks guys, for your replies. Lilly used to wake at 2 for a feed and i'd do a change and feed then, then she started falling asleep as soon as i'd done her nappy change so I stopped feeding her but kept changing. Will stop that now though!

Ive seen mixed reviews of those seats @AdventuresAwait, they look good cos theyre close to the floor but theres so many conflicting info about if they're good for the spine etc. Shes really trying to sit, pulls herself forward and that so shes heading in the right direction I guess

AdventuresAwait · 03/01/2022 22:28

Yes @Scotti84, I've been reading different things about them now too xx

GWhiteley · 05/01/2022 10:30

We've moved from the sofa to upstairs finally!!

And although Alyssa wakes 2-3 times in the night still, I've stopped changing her as it doesn't seem to bother her & just wakes her up even more

She can pretty much stand up with us just supporting her lightly, and I'm sure she wants to crawl but isn't quite there yet. She just wants to be on the move!

Mamasept27 · 05/01/2022 15:59

Hey I’m late to this!! I had a baby born 27 September x

AdventuresAwait · 06/01/2022 08:22

Glad you're upstairs now @GWhiteley! And wow, great about Alyssa - our little one isn't even close to that stage yet. Lots to look forward to x

Welcome @Mamasept27! Xx

GWhiteley · 11/01/2022 03:34

Anyone else going through the sleep regression stage?

AdventuresAwait · 11/01/2022 07:19

Yes @GWhiteley. She used to sleep from 8 or 9pm to 6am and then feed before sleeping again until about 9am.
Now she's struggling to get to sleep in the evening and is also waking regularly during the night.
I think it's due to leap number 4, the biggest one, bless her xx

Scotti84 · 11/01/2022 07:37

@GWhiteley @AdventuresAwait i thought we were but it only lasted a few days, shes been more settled the last week. I stopped changing her at 2am though, i use a size bigger nappy which is usually like a cannonball in the morning but doesnt leak and she's still happy. The only other thing i changed is i give her a bottle of milk as last feed on a night, expressed if i have enough and if not, formula. I wanted to exclusively BF but some days i just dont have enough (although this isn't as often as before), Lillys Dr suggested the formula as a sleep help as it takes a bit longer to digest and its easier to drink from a bottle, im not sure if it really worked or just coincidence but maybe worth a go?

AdventuresAwait · 11/01/2022 09:29

@GWhiteley @Scotti84 ours has only been for a few days so far. Will let you know when it finishes! It's right in the middle of the leap 4 so I'm sure it's that. It's the 5 week leap and it says they can be unsettled for a few days any time in that period. @GWhiteley how is your baby in the daytime? Xx

Scotti84 · 11/01/2022 10:02

Weve just had second jabs, she was awesome, a little quick cry when the needle went in but no tears and over as soon as the needle was out. Little one is sleeping now bless her, glad thats over until next year!

AdventuresAwait · 11/01/2022 10:21

Yay @Scotti84! Yes great that that's it for a few months! Xx

Noodles4Me · 11/01/2022 19:33

Hi all. Sorry I've been absent....
I don't think we are having sleep regression here but my boy has restless fidgety sleep all night which keeps me awake Sad

He's still a fairly happy, confident boy. Started on baby porridge. What a bloody ordeal that is!

GWhiteley · 12/01/2022 02:03

@AdventuresAwait she's not too bad, needs regular naps but can only fall asleep after a feed if we're at home unless I let her cry to sleep but I struggle with that as hate hearing her cry

Scotti84 · 12/01/2022 08:50

Hi @Noodles4Me hope youre doing ok! Any tips on weaning? The advice here is to start with blended veg or potatoes from 4 months. I'm waiting until this weekend so DH is there too.

What are peoples plans on going back to work etc? I think ill I'll going back part time, considered looking for a WFH job but I'm not sure i would actually get anything done.

Hope everyone's doing ok!

AdventuresAwait · 12/01/2022 08:59

Same here with the regular naps @GWhiteley. She naps on me and it is taking her a bit longer to get to sleep. I've had to feed her before a couple of naps too.

crobo87 · 12/01/2022 16:24

We definitely have the sleep regression going on here 😩. Regular wake ups between 1&5am

@Scotti84 j have a meeting in a few weeks to discuss my plan to return to work, I'm not back till June but want to have it all sorted in advance. I plan to put Oscar with a childminder 2 days a week and am hoping because I work from home I can flexi work for the other 3 days, do my admin in the evening etc....hoping work will agree

GWhiteley · 12/01/2022 16:50

You know, I'm not sure it is sleep regression now. As when she wakes she's starving. Apparently they go through a growth spurt at 4 months & the 2 can be mixed up.

With regards to weaning @Scotti84 my health visitor & nhs online recommend starting to wean at 6 months, so I'm going to start then.

Wahoo!! I had gestational diabetes while pregnant. Finally had my blood tests done & they've come back clear! So relieved 😁

AdventuresAwait · 12/01/2022 18:32

Yay @GWhiteley, that's great! Me too!
I agree that it is the growth spurt. My app calls them leaps and this is the big one.
Weaning here at 6 months too so reading two books about baby led weaning xx

Scotti84 · 12/01/2022 19:22

I wonder why they recommend it earlier over here. The dr said if she can hold her head, has interest in food and doesn't push it back out with her tongue we're good to go. The first two are definite yesses, the third I don't know yet.

GWhiteley · 12/01/2022 19:51

Yay @AdventuresAwait ! Here's to being able to eat what we want & not worry (well apart from putting weight on!)

GWhiteley · 12/01/2022 19:51

Sorry @Scotti84 , where are you again?

Noodles4Me · 12/01/2022 19:56

@Scotti84 my boy started pushing out with tongue but then worked out he can swallow it. He likes it now. He's 5 months and has Kendamil baby porridge. Just for 1 feed a day so far. My tips would be....patience!

As for work...I'm due back April. In current job I'd hate full time as my boss is a but applying for some better ones. If successful I'll be working full time and boy in nursery. We've secured his place already.

Scotti84 · 12/01/2022 20:16

@GWhiteley i'm in Germany, the health care system is brilliant but I do read the German and NHS advice and try and take a mix of the advise.

@Noodles4Me I read that it's one of the hardest things, learning to eat, I guess it is quite different from drinking from a boob/bottle. I'm interested to see how it goes.

GWhiteley · 12/01/2022 20:27

Ah yes, sorry I forgot. Interesting the differences the health cares have between the two countries.
I guess just go with you gut.

I'm due back mid June & will hopefully be able to do 5 mornings. My parents will have her 2 mornings, 2 mornings in nursery & hopefully one morning with mother in law. Unless I win the lottery on Saturday! 😂

Scotti84 · 13/01/2022 14:57

@GWhiteley good luck with the lotto, I'm hoping for the Euromillions on Friday 😅
