@CherLW, does Jesse have the one with the curled tail on the back or the textured straight back? Not sure which to get x

Scotti84 · 27/12/2021 19:07

@CherLW lilly has that teether too, it's brilliant, easy to hold and she manages to chew all parts of it, arms, legs, feet. Would deffo recommend

CherLW · 27/12/2021 19:13

@AdventuresAwait yeh he has the one with a curled tail. He also has one of the flat animal faces but that’s not as good.
I’ll send a pic of him with it 💙

@Scotti84 it was a game changer for Jesse he definitely likes that over all the others he’s tried

Babies due September 2021
Scotti84 · 27/12/2021 19:18

@CherLW @AdventuresAwait yep exactly the same. I think its easy to hold cos their hands can get sort of caught in the arms too if their grips not great. Lillys also got a flat lion face, but its crap, too wide for her mouth, but she likes throwing it about so not a complete loss 😅

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 20:03

Ordered, thanks both! Hopefully she'll be able to hold and chew it.

And gorgeous photo @CherLW xx

CherLW · 27/12/2021 22:02

@AdventuresAwait thank you 😍💙 xx

Hopefully Hettie loves it too! I was watching a video about it and they were putting teething gel on the head (on the bumpy bit) so they could get some of that whilst chewing.

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 22:41

Thanks for the tip @CherLW. I wonder when she'll start teething. We really thought we could see something earlier but we'll see.
Hopefully she'll hold monkey. Not sure when I need to be concerned. She'll hold things and will sometimes take it to her mouth so I think it's developing. But Jesse looks like he's holding it so well in the picture!
I have to remember that I was worried about her head control but then it suddenly came on well so maybe this will be the same.

CherLW · 28/12/2021 08:32

@AdventuresAwait I thought he would have something by now as he’s been chewing etc for a few weeks now and is more dribly at times. I wonder tho when it is the time will I know as he might need calpol etc.

You shouldn’t worry, all babies are different. People always say ‘hasn’t he got a good grip’ I think sometimes he has no idea he’s holding on 😂. The money has such skinny arms, I think it’s perfect for babies. I do have to wrap his little fingers round most of the time and he then picks and chooses how long he will hold on xx

AdventuresAwait · 28/12/2021 10:45

Thanks @CherLW. Really appreciate your advice xx

Scotti84 · 28/12/2021 11:10

We got this for Lilly too, only put it together yesterday but its looking good. It can be changed to a normal table when she's too old to sit in it. So far she loves it.

Anyone got advice on travel cots? Because germany have banned people from the UK coming in my family had to cancel their xmas trip so we're having to meet in Italy, its only a 4 hour drive for us and they can fly in from the UK. Anyone used one yet or got any tips for longer car journeys with a little one?

Kirky658 · 28/12/2021 11:11

@adventuresawait @scotti84 napping on me as we speak. Or in the pram, that's all we get in the day!!

Hope everyone had a good Xmas with their babies. We had a stressful day, Alice is not settling so well at the moment and is constantly hungry. She's taking 33 oz of milk a day some days... We tried her some first tastes on Xmas day and she loved it!

Will have a look, @Scotti84! Looks fun. No experience of using a travel cot (we didn't get to go to family at Christmas either as we both have covid but hopefully will visit soon so also interested about travel cots) but we did find a toy that is great for car journeys! www.argos.co.uk/product/9343294
It was mentioned on a thread so we thought we would try it and she loves it! It just attaches to the handle of the car seat and she watches the lights/ listens to the music when she isn't asleep in the car.

@Kirky658, wow, look at Alice! Isn't it amazing how quickly they grow and change.
Our little one is a bit unsettled too. Not too much but I think it might be a bit of a development leap Xx

AdventuresAwait · 28/12/2021 19:28

I've just seen a thread for those due September 2022 and realised it's been around a year that we all found out! A year this coming Saturday for me. Lovely memory xx

CobleCloud · 28/12/2021 22:01

@AdventuresAwait I saw the due September 2022 thread too, made me a little bit emotional. Can't believe it's a year since we all found out, it will be on the 9th for me.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with their little ones x

crobo87 · 28/12/2021 23:30

@CobleCloud I found out on the 9th too xx

Scotti84 · 29/12/2021 16:59

I found out on xmas eve, feels like such a lifetime ago!

GWhiteley · 29/12/2021 17:44

I didn't do my test until the 2nd or 3rd of Jan, but must have been pregnant already as she was due on the 3rd sept! I always feel a bit guilty as I had a glass of wine on New Year's Eve & ate a load of chocolate!

Im going to get a travel cot for when we stay at my parents each week so any recommendations on travel cots would be appreciated

AdventuresAwait · 29/12/2021 19:35

I got a faint line on the 1st but tested every day for a days as I couldn't believe it! 😊

Bubbles1st · 29/12/2021 22:48

@GWhiteley I got very drunk this day a year ago! No idea o could be pregnant, we had given up trying after 3 years. Didn't even test until my period was 10 days late 🙈

GWhiteley · 29/12/2021 22:52

@Bubbles1st ah I don't feel so bad then. Plus as long as it wasn't regularly I doubt either of us did the little beans any harm!

GWhiteley · 29/12/2021 22:53

On another subject, do any of your little ones get bad trapped wind?

Scotti84 · 30/12/2021 08:34

On the travel cot theme, this was recommended to me by a friends sister, www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004AHLMEM/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_api_glt_fabc_86RQG8J2AFAQVF0WM4XT?psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Bought it today, in another colour so will let you know how it is.

Im considering using it as a day bed too for her midday naps (when i put her down and can face not having the cuddles) then she'll get used zo it. maybe that would be a solution for you too @GWhiteley when you move the basket upstairs?

AdventuresAwait · 30/12/2021 09:10

That looks good @Scotti84. Do you think it could be used for a main bed for when she out grows the bedside crib and before having a cot in a different room? I'm looking for something and this is the same width as our bedside crib but don't know if I can use it for a few months before the cot? Xx

AdventuresAwait · 30/12/2021 09:25

@Scotti84 there are lots of mattresses that fit. I'm thinking I could get a good mattress as it would be for every day use? Xx

Scotti84 · 30/12/2021 09:51

@AdventuresAwait ill ask my mates sister and let you know
