@Sillysocks998 yes, Clementine has a cows milk protein allergy. We're breastfeeding so I've cut out dairy which had improved it, if she was having formula the GP can prescribe special ones. Tbh her symptoms were digestion related rather than skin rashes but the GP was really quick to refer her to paediatrician so the diagnosis part didn't take long.

Routine wise we've started doing bath milk bed but she doesn't go down before 11pm - I hate 9pm-11pm every night because everyone is tired and grumpy but she won't sleep! Only does 2 hours max at a time and feeding every 1.5 hours in the day. Anyone else? I'm so knackered and jealous of people who's babies sleep!

GWhiteley · 23/12/2021 11:33

Ah @bewitchingnight you're a woman after my own heart! Alyssa too has a cows milk protein allergy & so I have also gone dairy free due to breastfeeding. She was having a formula bottle twice a day & had been prescribed the special aptimal formula, but about 2 months ago suddenly decided she didn't want a bottle at alll & screamed bloody murder if you put the bottle anywhere near her! So solely breastfeeding.
She mostly manages to go 2 hrs during the day, but it depends as if she's sat on me she just wants milk all the time!
She had been going upto 4 hrs sleep at night, but that stopped a few nights ago as she's hit the 4 month sleep regression stage 😩 and so now manages about 2.5hrs but it's mostly 2 hrs.
They say you should try to stop feeding to put to sleep as part of this stage, but she fights sleep at night as it is, I can't take that away else we'll never get any sleep!

Newmum110 · 23/12/2021 15:35

Can anyone please help me? My little one is so easy going and happy but when he is left with anyone else he absolutely loses his mind & screams they whole time I'm gone. There is no way of pacifying him whatsoever so it always results in a phone call for me to rush back because they are worried about the baby. My husband works long hours so I very rarely get a break. Baby is 14 weeks now & this only started about 4 weeks ago. No one is willing to mind anymore, this will probably make baby more clingy & I'll never get a minute. Help, feeling very down now, love spending time with my baby but so much easier to pop to the shop etc without him.....

GWhiteley · 24/12/2021 12:29

@Newmum110 I'm sorry you're having a rough time with little one.
I'm not sure what to suggest, as to be honest my baby can be the same sometimes to an extent.
My mother in law takes her for a walk or car drive as both normally calm her downs& send her to sleep as long as she's been fed recently & got a clean nappy. Could they try that? Perhaps you need to start small & build the time up again. So maybe 10-15 mins where you don't necessarily go out, but are in another room quietly & see if that works? If so then build up the time slowly.
Sorry that's the only suggestion I have, but I know what it's like to need a break so sending you lots of positive vibes & mental hugs xx

Kirky658 · 24/12/2021 13:58

Just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a very merry Christmas. Lots of love from us all xx

Newmum110 · 24/12/2021 14:57

Thanks @GWhiteley having a baby during covid times is a lot harder than anticipated, baby not really meeting many people!!!!! Anyways we are all healthy and well which is the important thing.
Happy Christmas to all, enjoy the magical first one x

crobo87 · 24/12/2021 15:12

Merry Christmas everyone xx

Scotti84 · 25/12/2021 19:59

Happy Christmas everyone! Lilly is already addicted to one of her presents, so nice to see her enjoying it even though she's too young to understand. Hope you all had a good day x

AdventuresAwait · 26/12/2021 07:46

Sounds good @Scotti84, it's lovely when they really engage with something isn't it! I'm looking for things for our little one so would love recommendations if you're happy to share.

Scotti84 · 26/12/2021 08:31

@AdventuresAwait of course, it's this www.vtech.co.uk/product/detail/17213/Little_Friendlies_Glow_and_Giggle_Playmat with normal play mats she's good for about 10 mins before she gets bored, but because her feet have something to do that makes lights and sounds she loves it. Plus she can reach the toys that hang really easily.

AdventuresAwait · 26/12/2021 09:28

Oh lovely @Scotti84! I've not seen one like that before. Looks great, thanks!

Noodles4Me · 26/12/2021 15:30

Hi all, hope you all had a good Christmas. My boy was totally not arsed! 17 weeks of him, he gets better and more enjoyable the older her gets.

Hope all your babies are going well x

CherLW · 26/12/2021 19:40

Hope you all day a lovely couple of days ladies ❤️… Jesse was spoilt by family even tho I said to them not too 🤦🏻‍♀️ He’s far more interested in the tree lights 😍 had a lovely time with him..xxx

GWhiteley · 27/12/2021 05:41

Glad everyone had a good Christmas. Alyssa got bought 2 teddies with her name & 1st Christmas on them, god knows what I'm going to do with them!

I have a question about naps in the day. As you might have seen from my earlier ramblings Alyssa & I are currently sleeping downstairs in the lounge, but I'm hoping to move us upstairs this week.
At the moment with the Moses basket downstairs I can put her in it at any time during the day, whether for a nap or if I need a wee. I just wondered how you all deal with naps etc if your Moses basket is upstairs already? Thank you in advance!!

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 12:39

Hi @GWhiteley, not much help I imagine but my baby naps on me, either held or in a sling! When using the bathroom etc she'll lay on her mat or be in her chair.
I'm thinking of starting naps in her crib soon (though I'll miss the cuddles), maybe the next few weeks (and before 6 months). Hoping it won't be too difficult a transition as she falls asleep by herself in the evening when she goes to bed but maybe that's wishful thinking! I guess when we start and she can nap in her crib, I'll have the monitor on and will just keep checking on her too. Not much help, sorry! I'm sure someone, whose baby is sleeping in one during the day, will be on to give better advice. Anyone else with a baby who naps on them? xx

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 12:44

I've ordered the play mat, thanks @Scotti84!

Would love to hear any other recommendations for toys if anyone has any to share?

The things we bought are for a couple of months time and I'm looking for things she'll enjoy now 😊

Scotti84 · 27/12/2021 13:29

@AdventuresAwait no worries, let me know what she makes of it.

Lilly naps on me too, if she drops off on me and i need to get stuff done i put her in a baby nest on the sofa. Im not ready to put her in another room through the day yet, im still paranoid about Sids but i know that risk drops massively after 4 months so ill probably start doing it then.

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 13:49

Oh that's good to know @Scotti84, thanks. I'm happy for Hettie to nap on me too. So I'll probably wait until 6 months ish then.

Yes will let you know about the mat!

CherLW · 27/12/2021 14:57

@AdventuresAwait @GWhiteley jesse mainly naps on me or in a vibrating chair thing… I feel I should start putting him down in his crib but then I think he’s only 4 months and I’ll miss him.. I don’t feel ready yet as I’ll never get those cuddly naps back.

Jesse got some money for Christmas. I’ve been looking at toys that are more imaginative and sensory.. is anyone else really overwhelmed but the variety and wanting to get the best things to help with their babies development but also fun for them?

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 15:58

I feel the same @CherLW. It would be nice to get things done as she sleeps but I love her napping on me and will miss it! Like you say, we can't get the cuddly naps back! Will continue xx

We chose Hettie some things that will be used more as she sits up so I'm still looking for some toys she can use now. I just remembered we have this somewhere (www.goodlittleegg.com/products/babys-first-sensory-water-mat?_pos=3&_sid=6be1ac2be&_ss=r) and I think she will enjoy it so I'm looking forward to using that soon.

CherLW · 27/12/2021 16:02

@AdventuresAwait I get a few things done as he’s happy in his bouncer chair for a bit and naps in the vibrating chair so I have sometime. But definitely keeping these sleepy naps as long as I can ❤️

Jesse has a water sensory mat too, he lays on it now but doesn’t pay much attention of it yet. There are just so many things!

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 16:22

Yes there is @CherLW! Also, she wants to chew things at the moment (I wonder if a tooth is coming) but I can't find many toys or teethers that she can fit in her mouth very well? Anyone know of any? Though maybe it's because she can't hold them well enough yet Xx

CherLW · 27/12/2021 16:31

@AdventuresAwait Jesse is chewing lots too so I think a tooth may be around the corner. He’s got about 5 teethers and the best one I’ve found is from Match Stick Monkeys. matchstickmonkey.co.uk/collections/all-teethers/products/mint-green-original-teething-toy

This is the one he has.. quite expensive for a teether but he holds the little arms with both hands and chews on the head. I feel definitely worth the money and comes in lots of colours and designs 😊.

GWhiteley · 27/12/2021 17:01

My husband bought her a brilliant set from smyths for Xmas. It's got 4 different toys in it. Here's the link:

www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/baby-toys/soothers-teethers-and-rattles/playgro-butterfly-keys-gift-pack/p/139156

The butterfly has crinkly wings & she likes urging the other toys in her mouth!

He also got her a good book with different textures but I'm not sure where he got that.

AdventuresAwait · 27/12/2021 17:35

Thank you both @CherLW and @GWhiteley!

She isn't really holding things for long... maybe that will come soon.
