Ds has been at nursery 4 days a week for nearly 2 months now. He loves it!!!!
Some days he comes home with blue paint in between his toes or flour and water from "messy play" all over his shirt. He invariably comes home with fewer clothes or somebody elses clothes! Big tip- label everything. At least it's not chicken pox which is doing the rounds at the mo. I put that down to still bf once a day.
And no it's not awful! I quite like getting to work, having a cup of tea and a sit down. Or even going to tescos at end of work and doing shopping and having time to read labels (! sad or what!) whilst dh picks him up.

Makes you feel almost human again - and besides, even the most super of super moms gets stir crazy after a while indoors.

Hi all

I took ds3 to the chiropractor today to see if there was anything that might be adding to the none sleeping scenario. The chiro chappie found that he has two areas of tension/tenderness..one underneath the ears and one half way down the spine. He has another appt next week so I guess it's a case of watch this space!
We are off to baby signing class tomorrow. I went last week for the first time and ds seem to really enjoy it, his first two words to learn are 'milk' and 'food',apparently this should take about six weeks for him to pick up and then it's full steam ahead for learning lots of others. Before we know it he should be able to tell me he has never liked the spinach pasta I have been feeding him for weeks
I hope everyone is ok

Been quiet here.

ds is now rolling all over the place and has his first tooth. He is Sooooooo cute and although his hair is falling out he still has long bits on top which look like an old man's 'comb-over' which is hilarious!!

He loves his solids and sits and eats bread and toast and breadsticks while I spoon the food in.

Have you tried banana and avocado? It is delicious BTW. What sorts of things are you making? I have bags of cubes in the freezer inc roast chicken dinner, seabass with potatoes and peas, lentils and tomato, black eyed bean casserole, apricot Anything interesting anyone?

eidsvold · 31/05/2005 00:12

have only just started weaning here - so far she loves pumpkin and pear and banana. We were away last week so I just got a couple of jars to see us through - positively gagged and refused to eat pureed peas, potato and brocolli BUT loved apple and blackcurrant gel. Baby rice is a no no along with banana museli.

Dd2 has two teeth and like your little one collision - rolling everywhere. She also hates lying down - needs to be sat up or on your lap where she can see everything - made eating out last week a little difficult. We ate out almost every meal and dd2 seemed to have an inbuilt radar to go off as soon as the first spoon/forkful of food hit my mouth. Once sat up and able to view everything she was happy - I became very proficient at eating one handed or tag teaming with dh.

Otherwise we are plodding along.

Hi everyone, been ages since I was last here. DS has started crawling! Arrrggh! Not too big distances yet, just chasing his electronic ball around the lounge and chasing wires, CD's, generally everything he shouldn't have his little hands on! Is anyone else baby crawling?

Still no signs of teeth yet though, he seems to have been teething forever with no results, is this normal? Or are we blaming the teeth when it isn't really. It feels like his molar is coming through, probably not I know. But maybe could explain why it is taking so long.

Weaning is ok here. Am trying to make all the food now, but DS really does seem to have a preference for Jarred food. I start trying to give him my food and he keeps screwing his little face up! Never mind, I shall keep trying. One good success from the A Karmel book is Kiwi and Banana. I like it too!

Trying to sort out going back to work, am going to do some agency, they have taken me on, just sorting out some health bits and police checks so might be quite soon! Feeling better about it, plan to do nights to start with, that way I will mostly be around for DP. I am worried how he will cope. I think he will find it harder work than he thinks. We will see. Hope everyone is well and happy

webmum · 01/06/2005 15:07

dd2 has cut her first tooth yesterday!!
That's the only change in her, still not interested in rolling over, but she babbles incessantly!!

Flossam I think it would be very unlikely that a molar comes first, but the teething does last forever, my niece had first tooth at 13 months!!

Bunny2 hasn't posted for abit now, I hope all's ok??

collision · 04/06/2005 22:43

Try French Toast as a finger food. DS's both love it.

2 teeth now for ds2. He is losing his first hair but the new stuff is growing on the top. He has curly long bits on the top and it looks like a comb over!!!!!

bunny2 · 05/06/2005 21:53

Hiya

Webmum, thanks for thinking of me . All is going fantastically well. Dd is a non-stop smiler, even when being tormented by ds (which is most of the time being half-term). She LOVES her food and eats everything I try her with - nothing has been refused and I often end up opening an emergency jar of puree when she has ploughed her way through all the home-made stuff. because ds has eczema and food allergies we are taking weaning very slowly - her foods to date:

carrot
sweet potato
parsnip
potato
squash
brocolli
peas
corn
peach
apple
pear
raisins
dried apricots
rice

all pureed and served in various combinations. she has had banana too but seemed to react quite badly to it. Must try some meat next - lamb is the best one for avoiding allergies. I am keen to stay off dairy and wheat for as long as poss so need to be creative!

dd is a very noisy baby, blowing raspberries almost non-stop and making some weird strangled sort of noises too!

bunny2 · 05/06/2005 21:55

ok, is anyone seriously considering getting pg again soon? I get vey broody some days....

mum2max · 05/06/2005 22:45

ds rolled over yesterday, yet still has loads of trouble staying sat up!. Very dextrous and is really enjoying finger food like biscuits. Is really into lumpy food like baked beans! and LOVES sliced ham. Give him one corner and he chompes his way through it like a horse eating grass!

Still no teeth as well.
Latest noise, growling off "The Exorcist"!!!

tries to swim across carpet, loves being on his stomach. And (thank god) is sleeping blooming marvellously (at least 11 hours at night) . Even in different place (went to BBQ last weekend and he stayed at grandma's - on his own! on Friday) He slept from 7 til about 5.30. A miracle really because he's never even been in her bedroom!

webmum · 06/06/2005 11:26

Hi bunny2

I think of another baby all the time, but I dh would strangle me, I would do it now, but a third child would probably mean a bigger house, which would be a huge problem, financially as well as having to house hunt and move, with 3 (or 2 and pregnant!) Can't even bear to think about it!!

But I'm definitely considering a third child in a couple of years, if I'm still up for it when dd2 reaches the terrible twos!!!

At the moment she's so placid and contented I'd have another one now!!!

I feel like I've only just started to really enjoy motehrhood (hence the career break) which I never felt with dd1 (), though I was never aware of it. Becoming a mum for the first time, and a fulltime mum after years of working, must have been a greater shock than I've ever realised....

Flossam · 06/06/2005 21:56

DS is now crossing across the room and causing all sorts of untold havoc! OMG! Still can't quite believe he has worked out how to crawl. Hoping this means he will have more co-ordination than his mother, who has none!

I have been out with my friend today, her baby is just a nightmare. I always come away feeling soo soo lucky that I have my DS. He is a happy, smiling, giggling baby boy who very rarely makes a fuss. He is truely wonderful!!

Bunny, glad to see you are here, I tried to chase you on a thread a few days ago, hope you are feeling healthier. And yes, I'd love another, very broody. But really want to enjoy DS as much as I can right now, don't know that I could do that being pregnant. As much as I would love to be, the actual possibility fills me with terror! I was very pleased to see AF this month!

eidsvold · 06/06/2005 23:35

have posted an updated pic of dd2 - taken on our holidays a couple of weeks ago.

collision · 07/06/2005 07:53

Another baby........goodness NO! DH would kill me and I just dont know how you would cope with 3 all the time!

DS is now sleeping from 7-7am YIPPEE!!!! We did controlled crying and put him in the kitchen as it is cooler and so we cant hear him grizzle.

It worked from night one and so far he is sleeping through. When I go to get him he coos with delight and snuggles into my neck. He is lovely and if I could work out how to post a foto I would!

MaryP0p1 · 07/06/2005 08:02

How's the season going so far Collison?

Flossam · 07/06/2005 08:43

collision, if you want to cat me and send it to me i usually manage to fiddle with it somehow and get it on there!

PandaBear · 07/06/2005 13:32

Hi All - not posted for a while as not much to say really. DD2 is gorgeous - smiles all the time, has two teeth, but isn't rolling or sitting yet - although she has started to say Mama and Dada. I love this babbling stage!!!! She also loves her grub and would keep on eating until she burst if she had the chance!

As for another baby.... no no no... not for me. I've got two and that's enough for me. Mind you, ask me again in a couple of years .

Glad to hear you and your DS's/DD's are all well.
