oh no to not sleeping, not another one!
Freak tooth??

NorthernLurker · 20/11/2007 21:00

Pesha - take the baby to the pc, load up bbc website, go to radio, pick listen again to radio 7, pick repeated radio 4 comedy from list - ed reardon's week does it for B. Sit and listen to comedy - baby should fidget for a bit then fall asleep. Of course the challenge is staying awake yourself....if this doesn't work then I would be forced to conclude that your baby is indeed broken and you are Doomed

Eddas · 20/11/2007 21:01

ahh the old 'well he could be a little ill so i'll give him some, just incase' We all do it If you don't, try it, works a treat

I don't remember a freak tooth story, doesn't mean you didn't mention it though

PeshaCake · 20/11/2007 21:08

Well atm he's actually quite happy lying on the floor being ignored while mummy MNs so I'm going with that for now!

One of his bottom teeth seems like 2 in 1. Its wider than a normal baby tooth but has a gap in the middle at the top, just about a mm down the tooth as if it were 2 teeth that have formed into 1. Although is slightly narrower than 2 teeth would be. Very, very strange. Had me very confused when it first came through!

CaptainDippy · 20/11/2007 21:12

Have you got SKy, Pesha!!? Put him in front of some bloody awful Politics programme - he'll be asleep in seconds or you will and then it won't matter whether he's awake or not!

StealthPolarBear · 20/11/2007 21:19

Now you tell us I do remember you saying that, sorry
very strange
well off to fold washing then bed in a sec, good night everyone xx

CaptainDippy · 20/11/2007 21:23

Night SPB. xx

Sexonlegs · 20/11/2007 21:27

busywithIzzy · 20/11/2007 22:03

Just a quick message to say Ellie I don't mind you coming to the meet up!!

Have been trying to keep up but just can't manage it!

Hope all ok

busywithIzzy · 20/11/2007 22:05

Oh meant to say Noooooooooooo to babies being fully toothed I have a graze/scab on my nipple atm from a teething baby!!

PeshaCake · 20/11/2007 22:06

Course you are my love! Dont think we can afford to go out sat night but thought we'd get 1 or 2 drinks in if thats ok?

However jamie had asked his mum ages ago if she could have M and N sat night so we could go out if we could get someone for the others and so his mum has now booked a day out for them on sunday and I'm all abit annoyed about it really cos he didnt consult me at all but I think he thought he was doing A Good Thing. Anyway it means M and N wont be around from sat bedtime and most of Sunday - I hope Matthew wont be too put out.

PeshaCake · 20/11/2007 22:07

Ooooh Oooooowwww BWI

Luckily D hasnt bit me once yet but he does pinch alot, not quite as bad though.

busywithIzzy · 20/11/2007 22:17

Thanks Pesha, it has been hurting for a few days I was trying to be more careful with the latch in case we were becoming lazy, but I examined today and I have a scab Have started putting lasinoh on again to help.

Little madam, when I tell her no or say ouch, she laughs!!

oooggs · 20/11/2007 22:39

sol - Jack can't sit unaided yet Erin has been doing it over a month

I have been bitten today Jack crawled over at under 1's and bit my knee, I yelped [ouch]

well glossing finished, Jack fed, now bed, Erin will probably wake around 2am. Am I the only one still doing night feeds?????? They both take a full bottle, I know it must be habit but I am too tired to break it, I would rather they fed and went straight back than tried to fight it with either/both of them.

What do you lot do/think??????

back tomorrow x

runnyhabbit · 20/11/2007 23:36

no chance of catching up

had a lush creme brulee coffee type thing with underwire this morning, and a piece of cake (well it would've been rude not) F is such a cutie - her and W even held hands for a few seconds!

must go and do the dream feed - paranoid that the one night I don't do it, will be the night he wakes up.

and as for teeth - W has 4, and can see the 5th one starting to come through. Bf is becoming a bit uncomfortable, so might get in touch with the local bf counsellor

nighty night
x

StealthPolarBear · 20/11/2007 23:57

well this is the first night waking

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2007 03:54

and here's the second
why won't he go back to sleep????????????????????

geordiemacminx · 21/11/2007 08:17

Morning ladies;

Sounds like most of us are having problems with sleep - which kinda eases the pain IYKWIM? I feel like such a crap bloody mother at the moment, his sleep pattern is worse now than ever. Went down at 7.30, woke at 10.30 - took 5oz, woke at 12.30 - took 1oz eventually went back down, woke at 2, took another 1oz, woke at 3 took 8oz then slept til the grand old time of 6.30,.... I feel like we have tried everything and it doesnt make the slightest difference - porridge before bed, no tea so he takes full bottle, dream feed, no dream feed, medised, and countless other things.. ARGHHHH

Sorry about the moan!!!

elkiedee · 21/11/2007 09:12

Morning all, tried to post earlier but it crashed.

SMB and GMM, sorry to hear about your particularly crap nights - ours wasn't brilliant but a bit better than the night before - we talked and agreed that we need to just be ready to deal with him waking up, accepting and being prepared for it helps me to cope. What we agreed as it worked before is division of labour - usually I change the nappy, dp heats and feeds milk. D usually goes back to sleep more easily if he can be caught before he goes into serious grizzle, and actually he was still half asleep through nappy changing.

Going out this afternoon to meet other local mumsnetters, I've been wanting to arrange a mumsnet meet up for months but it was only in October it finally started to come together by which time I was already so much busier than I had been. Think D will be the oldest baby present this time, mostly autumn babies.

Now am hoping to finish breakfast and read a bit before D wakes up from his nap, am hoping it will be a longer one and that he doesn't wake himself coughing. Hope everyone has a good morning/day.

liath · 21/11/2007 09:30

Another glorious day here in bonnie Scotland - grey, cold, lashing rain.......lovely.

Sounds like a good plan, Elkie although God knows it's hard to feel OK about being up when it's 2am isn't it? Ds still feeds once or twice a night which my mum thinks is ridiculous but it's the easiest way to get him back to sleep.

Dd has always been a fab sleeper but I think even she had problems at this age as I remember resorting to controlled crying one night.

Off to playgroup today.

runnyhabbit · 21/11/2007 10:23

Well, W was asleep by 8.20pm. Then woke up about 9.30 - the 5th tooth really gave him trouble, so gave him calpol night. Forgot to do the dream feed (fell asleep) But he didn't wake up til 5.30am! Had a bf, then went back to sleep til 7.30am

After the crappy lack of sleep the past few months, I really hope this isn't a one off...

StealthPolarBear · 21/11/2007 10:23

Hi everyone
GMM your night sounds awful T was up 3 times which isn't that bad but I'm just not used to it. Are they having a growth spurt?
elkie, enjoy your MN meet up!
Morning liath
Would you believe I've just got up??
