We made it without any more puking. Baby is still not happy about hiis ear though, and seems to be going through a phase of not eating much iin the day and making up for it by eating all night

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 10:26

Morning!

oh dear sputnik you and your dcs aren't having a good time of it!

weather is hideous here. I'm just going to stay in with the blinds shut eating coco pops and watching dawson's creek! bloody wind & rain are so loud I can't hear the precocious teenage diatribe. damn those huge recency windows!

Sputnik · 18/11/2007 11:09

I won't mention how sunny it is here then

I am happy as I actually managed to dye my hair, which I've been meaning to do for weeks

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 11:23

Can i come & live with you sputnik? - my italian is passable!

Sputnik · 18/11/2007 14:30

You can be my au-pair

Sputnik · 18/11/2007 14:33

Actually we've had some horrible weather recently too

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 15:46

Boo hoo sputnik, it must be such a chore living in the the middle of the med, in the land of lovers, fantastic food and gorgeous gelato! I'm just happy I don't live in North Wales anymore! How are the dcs anyway?

Where is everyone?

BadZelda · 18/11/2007 16:13

I'm here - just back from Sunday swimming trip and all I can say is BRRRRRRRRRR it's bloody miserable in London today!

justbeme · 18/11/2007 16:36

Hi - im here
we've only just got rain in the last hour or so
Spent this afternoon in the garden - dug up the last of my parsnips, picked the last of the tomatoes (in november??!!) and picked a couple of leeks. Might make leek and potato soup tomorrow!.

Ive been putting the toms in a brown bag with a banana - some go off but some make it!!

Anyway dinner is on the go.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 18/11/2007 16:50

Bloody miserable here too. And I feel awful, which is making me a right grouchy mare, snapping at everyone. Head aches, throat sore, joints all ache, am tired and cold (though sometimes hot) and generally miserable. My brother rang here last night to say he was ill, and had had the week off work. All I could think was lucky git!

Sputnik · 18/11/2007 19:29

Well it may have been sunny here today but it's blardy cold. Just got back from a puppet show which would've been good if you could've heard aword they were saying.

justbeme · 18/11/2007 21:03

I thought we'd changed thread its so quiet!!

We've got a white garden - its been sleeting/snowing!

Luv the photos Bumper!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 21:28

Thanks JBM. I just thought they were gorgeous!

Do you think you are ever jealous of your children when they grow up? If DD turns out to be a stunner will I just be proud or gutted that I am a) no longer young and b) was never that beautiful? She's already got killer eyelashes that she certainly hasn't inherited from me!

of the snow JBM!

justbeme · 18/11/2007 21:40

She has got killer eyelashes - I mentioned that to DP!
and I think you'll feel a combination of everything you've said - but the biggest feeling will be the proud one!

ps, its hardly snow - just a light covering!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 22:13

Just to let you know I have been reminiscing...I've pulled up the old antenatal threads, just to have a look back to when all our babes were just tiny dots!

It's a shame we lost so many people along the the way. But I'm glad for all the people who have since joined us! It's nice to look back though

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 18/11/2007 22:19

It seems like it was mostly shopping, eating and whinging about DPs - not much changed there then!

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 08:24

I did that too Bumper, we have been wittering away to each other for over a year now.

DD seems much better today, but because she was absent from school so long I need a doctor's certificate before they'll let her back. The doctor is not there on monday mornings, pah.

andiemisletoe · 19/11/2007 09:34

morning all sorry for awol weekend but was on my own as dh not back so have been out and about
went to my mums for lunch yesterday
have just walked to school in the pouring rain aagh

sputnik my one has decided to eat more in the night as well have you started any food yet???? am on the point of cracking as can't do feeding every 1.5 hrs in the night for long

am off for lunch to a friends today and then out with the mums from school for drink. Have had to get a babysitter as dh back tomorrow can't wait but I bet he will be ooh I'm so tired etc etc

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 10:10

Andie I must've missed that your DH has been away, how long was he away for? How has it been with 2? Mine is off for 10 days soon, I am dreading it.

Haven't started solids yet, I could I suppose but not sure that would make a difference. More that he doesn't seem to want to eat much in the day, he eats a bit then starts complaining, maybe because of ear/cold. I am knackered though.

DaisyNightingale · 19/11/2007 12:34

I've missed everyone again It is quiet around here isn't it?

just a quick catch up. ds and dh went home yesterday, but I'm staying another few days. mum is doing much better, and is staying resolutely cheerful, but she's gone from planning next years hols to settling on recipients for all her things . DD is keeping her entertained by putting out her hand to shake when you say "how do you do?" and she is trying to say nanna as well.

right gotta go get lunch sorted.....I'll try to look in later, but might not be back on line till Wednesday evening or Thursday.

I'm off to meet derlor tomorrow

foxythesnowman · 19/11/2007 12:42

ooh, hello Daisy and all.

Not much time to post, but Daisy, hope you are bearing up OK. Must be tough, but we are all thinking of you. Good that your mum is staying positive.

Have a great meeting with Derlor - just what you need I reckon, a day off with a lovely friend. Reckon you'll have a great day. Just make sure you treat yourself - that's an order!

Where's Bumper? I've got to have a word with her. That bloody lovely bugger just sent me a bar of Lindt chocolate - purely medicinal of course, for Eve (via me!). Bless you Bumper, you're so blardy thoughtful! xxxxx

DaisyNightingale · 19/11/2007 12:47

hey foxy....enjoy the chocolate....bumper you are a love! I had some bournville dark with coffee the other day and it was blardy gorgeous.

We're meeting at the designer shopping outlet, so I think I might just manage to treat myself!

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 13:18

DANGEROUS venue
Have a lovely time

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 19/11/2007 13:25

Afternoon chicks!

Glad you and your mum are well daisy, hope you have a lovely time shopping. Buy yourself something wonderful!

I think I'm gonna hold off weaning ds for a while. I just tried him on some Organix fig and apple cereal and he spat almost all of it out. I kept putting it in and he kept spitting it out! Then he sicked up what he did swallow! I've a feeling he might not be ready yet!

Enjoy the choc foxy!

Afternoon ladies...is everyone starting to feel that winter has 'arrived'. It's ugly out there.

Hope you're all doing well.
I've gotten stuck into some puree'ing madness and DD is loving it. She did snub the broccoli Iso I have started to hide it w/sweet potato. She gobbles it down now.

My DS has started taking his nappy off but won't use a potty and I just keep thinking how much easier babies are.

Well better not hang around as DD is fast asleep after baby massage and DS has gone down for his nap too - I might get something done.
