Afternoon all,

Els great to see you, you haven't been around for a while. Eeeek to potty training! Can mine just stay at 5 months?!

Foxy, you are very welcome. Like I said, sounds like it's a necessity! How's LO's weight doing?

Holly, do we have a plan for secret santa? do you need any help?

Daisy, glad you are hanging in there, have a lovely time. give derlor a hug from me (and tell her to give you one back from me!)

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 19/11/2007 16:44

Afternoon all

Just got back from toen and have finished my Xmas shopping

Daisy....glad you've had some quality time with your mum x HAve a great day tomorrow

I had to take DD to doctors this morning and DH took cat to vets (same shopping centre but we went seperatly) and someone backed out of his parking space right into DHs van . There was a witness who parked and disappeared but she heard me on the phone to DH when I was in the chemist...she owned up to seeing everything but didn't want to talk to my DH at the time cos he was "quite angry" ...he gave the old boy a bit of a hard time I think...well fancy saying "I am a pensioner you know..."....doesn't mean you don't have to look!!

So our week off started well, one to the doctors, one to the vets, one van pranged, kitchen fitter turned up 2 hours late!

Hope you've all had better days than me

Bumper - FAB photos btw

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 19/11/2007 16:45

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 19/11/2007 17:24

Thanks guys. A couple oh hours sleep has helped. I'm now feeding DD while DH gets the shopping in. Think I'll have a super early night after pizza for tea.

Hope I'll be up and about by Thursday Bumper

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 17:26

Poor you Jammy, for me the worst part of being a parent is when you're ill. Second worst was potty training.

Sorry to hear about your morning LMN, mine was back at the docs today too, and got abs for his ears as they're just not clearing up.

andiemisletoe · 19/11/2007 17:39

jammy get well soon

bumper your pics were lovely

sputnik my dh has been away for 10 days back tomorrow
has been ok but I have one at school so am on my own with lo in the day

daisy glad you are hanging in there say hi to derlor for us and make sure yopu ladies get some fab treats

els hope all is well I am really trying to hold off the weaning as I want to skip the puree bit but if mine wants to bf every 2 hours night and day I might have to do something

Norty I have almost finished too me and you are the ocd ones on the thread methinks

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 18:00

well I normally have 1 at school too, in fact the last week when she has been at home sick has been quite tough, I admire those of you that do that all the time. Hoping that mine will be healthy at least some of the time DH will be away.

andiemisletoe · 19/11/2007 18:37

my advice then sputnik would be lunch a lot for the adult company of course not the cake

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 19:06

Anyone want to pop over to Rome for lunch then? The gelato is on me God I am sadly lacking in RL friends

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 19/11/2007 19:25

Wish I could Sputnik, wish I could

BadZelda · 19/11/2007 20:22

Hey Sputnik is that an invite? I could do with a holiday.

BadZelda · 19/11/2007 20:23

Hi Elsbells - nice to see you. Hi and Bye Dasiy - have a lovely time with -the- -hairy- -trucker- Derlor

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 19/11/2007 20:47

Hi everyone

I've not been around much lately as have been feeling utterly sh*t but hopefully I am on the mend now. Will try and catch up now, but just wanted to say hellooooooo

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 19/11/2007 20:56

Hello Fairy.....hope you're ok....had noticed you'd gone quiet......DCs ok?

Andiem....I agree.....I am a bit OCD about things.....not having a kitchen and house being in such a mess is DOING MY HEAD IN

Right, off to watch panorama then I can read all the threads about it tomorrow on here with everyone arguing whether or not they did it

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 19/11/2007 21:13

Gosh that didn't take too long!

Hello Norty

Daisy, glad your Mum isa bit perkier but that she's still so unwell

Jammy, sorry to hear you're feeling crap

Sorry to hear about all DCs puking and other illnesses

Hope that more or less covers it...?

We are all ok-ish now. Have all had horrid colds/flu. Has made DD rather pukey at night as she's coughing so much, which isn't pleasant. DS has been more miserable than normal during the day but thankfully he's still been sleeping at night which is a huge relief.

DS has also rather gone off his formula but is still loving his solids (and crying when they're finished!) so I am making it extra wet and adding some formula to it - he's still wetting his nappies, etc so I am trying not to worry too much, but it is a bit concerning - I am putting it down to him being so congested that sucking for too long probably isn't much fun. I am still giving him bottles before food though, and he does seem to have picked up a bit today so hopefully it's just been a blip (can you tell that I've been a bit stressed about it?!)

Absolutely nothing exciting or interesting to report from here... dull dull dull really tbh

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 19/11/2007 21:14

Andiem and Annobal - sorry the meet-up didn't work out, shall we try again soon?

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 21:17

Well I keep suggesting a Rome meet-up, why don't you all hire a bus or something

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 19/11/2007 21:18

I'd be over in a flash!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 19/11/2007 21:19

Ooh - you're game Norty - I couldn't quite bring myself to watch Panorama so watching Nigella on repeat. In fact I think DH might have a bit of a crush

Sorry I 've been awol - had a mountain of washing to catch up on . DS1 not been well but seems well on the mend now (hence 3 sleepless nights).

Am currently knitting DH a scarf - the weather is grim out there...

Hope everyone's well . I've just booked here for Easter next year.

Elsbells · 19/11/2007 21:20

Not sure who is out there but 'hi'.

Bumper enjoy DD and don't even worry about potty training (lucky you). When the time comes it will be fine as they say girls are easier than boys (or is that another myth)

BZ did you get your preschool sorted out? I have looked into one for when DS is 3 next yr and no school can confirm a place in reception even if they were in the school nursery. It's a gov't legislation thing that you have to reapply through the council for the reception.

Personally I wish I didn't have to think about schools or potty training or tantrum taming. I just want to cuddle my DD and make funny faces at her but DS drags me into the other realities of being a parent.

Sputnik I would gladly come to Rome for a lunch. When and at what time.

Sputnik · 19/11/2007 21:22

Have you tried giving it him in a cup fairy?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 19/11/2007 21:23

Sputnik, I'll visit you! Actually we might be going to Rome for a weekend next year...

In the meantime, yes, definitely like to arrange another meetup. I need to pick something up from near Barnes - would it be possible to meet in either Barnes or Putney?
