Oh trace that's awful. How are you?

Norty, what a nightmare trip for you. Glad you are feeling better and hope you have a lovely kitchen now!

Sorry for the smugness over the jeans . As some people on here can attest, you wouldn't look at me and think "size 10", they are just a generous pair of jeans! I'm just glad I'm out of my maternity jeans

Glad it's not just me foxy, DH had a go before my 6 weeks check and it farking hurt, so not bothered since, and if my v painful smear test I had 2 weeks a go is anything to go by we won't be trying again anytime soon

Sputnik · 01/12/2007 09:55

God Trace, can you leave your street yet?

Foxy you deserve some kind of medal I think for taking all those kids swimming.

DD is playing happily and reciting little snippets of Shrek 2 (current fave), it's so cute

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 01/12/2007 10:00

Awww I LOVE Shrek

trace2 · 01/12/2007 10:02

Sputnik · 01/12/2007 10:03

So do I luckily as we have watched it about a zillion times in the last couple of weeks

Sputnik · 01/12/2007 10:04

Trace it must be scary not knowing what's going on. Are you ok?

Oh, I meant to say, yesterday I went to a Mini IQ party (have any of you had the pleasure of one of these yet?) it was ok, I bought DD a puppet, but the women who ran the party had a 3 year old and when she came in the 3 yo was asleep in the car so she left her in it asleep while she did the party thing. And you could see the car as we were in the back room. After an hour when she went and checked on her and bought her in the little girl had had an accident (no wonder) and was wet with no change of clothes.

Now I am am just curious as to how acceptable this leaving the child asleep in the car, where you can see them, is on a bad mum scale 1 being the mother of the Holy Child Jesus, and 10 being that little Britain yeah but no but character?

I am ridiculously excited as I have just been to Greenwich market and bought my secret santa gifts

Have a great day Fairy.

Bumper, I think it really depends where and when and how hot/cold it is. I have been known to leave DCs in the car while I run one of them into nursery

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 01/12/2007 12:23

Am of spa day, but hope it is great

Agree that whether or not to leave DC in car depends on factors such as where, when, temperature, etc. Having said that at the supermarket this morning I wheeled trolley to car, unloaded bags, thought about putting DD in car and leaving her for a minute (in locked car) while I returned trolley, but decided against and returned trolley then carried DD back to car. It wasn't that I thought she'd be in any danger, but I didn't want to be accused of doing the wrong thing. Maybe if it'd been pouring I'd have swung the other way though and been more concerned about keeping her (and being seen to keep her) out in the rain fpr longer than necessary?

Sputnik · 01/12/2007 12:52

I leave Baby Sputnik in the car when Idrop DD into nursery but he's usually asleep, he doesn't cry if he wakes up, it's a very quiet road etc. Wouldn't leave DD asleep as I know she'd freak out if she woke up.

I just had this: DD fell asleep in the car, I woke her and she is now lying on the floor in a very negtive mood, ie doesn't want luch, cuddle, or even Shrek 2. Some young children can be in a really bad mood if you wake them, maybe the party womaan was afraid of this and didn't want to spend the next hour mollifying her 3 yo as opposed to getting on with the party. She was probably very

BadZelda · 01/12/2007 13:28

Hi Catkin and Lilkel - long time no see! Glad to hear you're both well and happy.

Trace hope you're ok - what a horrible thing to have happen.

Holly - no secret santa for me yet?

Am a bit grumpy and tired today

andiemisletoe · 01/12/2007 13:46

afternoon all
bz sorry you are grumpy the weather doesn't help I think are you feeling a bit bah humbug

fairy am jealous of spa day have a lovely time

am in midst of making some veggies for lo so much for not doing mush

foxythesnowman · 01/12/2007 14:12

No, I wouldn't do what she did. I'd bring my 3 yo in. I'll leave them if I can see them and get to them, if its a quick job.

Swimming was just great this morning. Really enjoyed it.

Did I say I can't make the 10th? Was going to suggest that as the day to meet on Northcote Road, BZ, but that's when lo is going to the hospital.

I think it'll be after Christmas for me now. Possibly the 17th? 17th & 18th are the last two days of freedom before the schools break up.

foxythesnowman · 01/12/2007 19:24

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 01/12/2007 20:16

Yay! Well done JBM

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 01/12/2007 20:20

evening folks!

well done on the competition win jbm...I enter everything that comes up and I've never won a bloody thing

HOLLY.....no secret santa e-mail here either....what is that DP of yours playing at?

BZ...keep posting for me honey...everytime I see your name now I think peas and straws

Been to a big Christmas fair thingy today, and was on ice skates for the first time in about 15 years. It was only an artifiacial rink, but great fun. DS was less than enthusiastic and was having real tantrums about it, and it was all nonsense as I skated off and left him and he managed fine! Then he and DH did some nordic skiing on artificial stuff as well.

DS was in absolute awe in the Santa's grotto....the chap in the suit was very convincing I must say, even I was a bit taken in with the magic of it all.

Then we got lost in the snowflake maze.....

It all got a bit fraught after that point as DS started to have a meltdown...DH and I were both narking at him to be quiet as we were packing into the car (he didn't want to leave, DH and I were in slight disagreement about whether we were in a disabled parking space or not), and DH managed to reverse the car into someone else)

But all in all not a bad day chez daisy

Norty, glad you are feeling better

fairy, at your spa day.

sorry for the long post.

Off to do some Christmas shopping online!

foxythesnowman · 01/12/2007 20:22

Whaaay-haaay! Well done JBM - Juicers are great.

Boiler a bit crap, but struggling on. Only had to relight it once.

Hi Jammy! How's your day been?

TheTwelveDAISYOfChristmas · 01/12/2007 20:29

bumper...not much between the sheets action going on here either....we have only managed to get even remotely frisky three times since DD was born, and have only shagged twice. I just can't be bothered, and DH is fed up being knocked back so doesn't even bother trying it on any more

mhc...poor DS, I hope he is all right now.

Just got a call to say my nephew is out of hospital. He's still quiet poorly, but they have the infection under control, and his lumbar puncture was clear.

foxythesnowman · 01/12/2007 20:30

Hellloooo Daisy too! intrigued by your post to BZ there.

Your day sounds lovely. I was wondering what everyone is doing for crimbo. What traditions have you got or will you do? I'm doing the new pj thing as seen on MN. Pj parties are part of our weekly routine. makes me smile that I have Daisy to thank for it!

foxythesnowman · 01/12/2007 20:32

poor mite. glad he is on the mend.

Following on from what you just said Daisy, what do you do to reclaim your mojo? because I need to - and fast.
