the vomit is back Poor minimeep. Had to strip her and me off and stand in the bathroom and just let her vomit on me because it just kept coming. She's managed a bit of water and about 3 ounces of milk and is having a nap now so fingers crossed! I'm hoping it's just all the phlegm from the rattly cough she'd got.
DH is going to take her to the docs tomorrow just to get her checked over - I hate seeing her so sick.

Myfairone · 03/02/2008 14:30

oh meep, you poor things. it is just awful when they are sick isn't it. i really feel for you. they do bounce back real quick though so fingers crossed for you.

thinking of you and hope she is better soon
big hugs

Jennster · 04/02/2008 09:02

Hope the Meeps are feeling a little better.

We finally got ds out of our bedroom last night and he slept throug to 6. I couldn't get back to sleep so went for a RUN Not a long one but just enough to make feel fab and bouncy and well enough to make a trip to the supermarket with both children.

Hope other people are well.

Hi all sorry to here of minimeeps sickness.

James has a really sore rash under his chin from drooling so much. He cut 4 teeth last week giving him the grand total of 7 teeth now. I'm sure he's really about 18 months old. He is the weight of a 15month old!!! He isnt moving much of sitting, HV says it may take longer because he is so heavy!!! Hes not really fat though he is all in proportion so I'm not worried. Its not as though he can diet anyway.

Going back to work in 4 weeks. Im quite looking forward to getting my brain in gear again and he is great at the childminders because he knows her and his big sis goes there. I will just miss his cuddles cos he is a cuddly babs!!
Luckily being a teacher I get plenty of hols to be with them both.

Jennster well done on your jog. Ive been trying to get to the gym for the last couple of weeks and have cut dom on my food. I lost a measily 1 lb is it worth it????

Swedes · 04/02/2008 11:37

have been reading these posts about standing-up babies with my face in my hands. Thank goodness for baby justabout!

I keep forgetting to give solids too. One day he will get three meals and the next day nothing but milk. He doesn't seem to complain and seems to like everything I give him. I normally just mash a tablespoon full of food from what we are earing and if it's not suitable I give him one of those Hipp tiny jars.

I avoid toddler groups like the plague. Isn't it where you take your children so they can:
Learn to fight over the Little Tikes car?
Pick up the latest cold, bug or just someone else's snot?
Find out what it feels like to be bitten and punched?
Read books with half the pages stuck together or missing?

Does anyone enjoy it?

Justabout, I haven't yet braved a toddler group with DS and DD at the same time, so you did well! I don't blame you for not wanting to go again tho. Looking forward to our meetup next week.

DS is sitting, and is sort of rolling, in that if you put him on his tummy he will drop one shoulder and let his weight take him over to his back- does that count? But if he's on his back, he never moves, so at least nappy changing is still easy. He is 7+mo so a bit older than most of the July babies.

Myfairone · 04/02/2008 13:47

justabout - sod em, thats what i say! i am sure they welcomed the arrival of a new mum so they could have someone else to sit and b*tch about!

well, we just took ds to a local restaurant...he smiled the entire time and apart from getting soaking wet from drooling it was a very pleasant experience!

don't worry if your lo isnt doing what the others are doing..they all have their own pace.

big hugs to all.

theprecious · 04/02/2008 20:12

Poor minimeep - I hope she is feeling better.

And poor Justabout.... I really don't see the point of snotty mothers. It makes me cross. WTF? Everyone's in the same boat.

News from whinging Old bag land - Ds slept 7.30 - 7. The first proper sleep through. Unlike last time I know better that it will not last. But it was lovely.

Today though he was a little bugger - made me think longingly of work, I admit. He just whined all day, even in the pushchair, which isn't like him. Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow. Today has been long and I have a large glass of wine to cheer me up.

Does any one like Campari? I have found a new drink which is lovely.

We have no teeth nor any sign of them. Ug teething. I really don't want to think about it.

twoplusone · 04/02/2008 20:21

Justabout i would really angry to.

MFO glad you had a good time at the restaurant.

Meep hope minimeepis better.

lee is sitting up if occupied and doesnt realise he is doing it. As soon as he realises he falls bless him. He rolls in circles and back to front. He is into grabbing his feet alot esp when on his back which is great for chianging his bum.

Having a bit of a mini crises..(nothing new for me I suppose..lol) Working on a 28day cycle my af was due sat or today.. no show.. did a pg test and -. But if I remember rightly i think between dec af and jan af was 30days.. So that leaves me till wed..

Nothing wrong with having 4.. other than cant really afford a bigger car but i suppose we will find money from somewhere will just have to down grade if i am. Oh and do i really fancy doing another pg by myself.. we woked out if I am he will not be back till I am32wks++ Fingers crossed fo wed.. (if I am I suppose i dont really have a choice other than get on with it..lol)

Fingers crossed for me ladies.. please...

I think I will just laugh, me with a teething moving baby, a tazmanian devil for a 3-4yr old, a taxi driver to an 11yr old.. little sleep and pg on my own.. oh what fun....

meep · 04/02/2008 20:27

Minimeep is back to being her smiley self again - doc said it was just phlegm that probably made her sick - and that we can look forward to more of the same until she has got used to all the new nursery bugs - ugh!

Justabout - I can't belive that you got told off - what a load of nonsense. I have been so lucky with my NCT group - no-one is competitive or snotty and we all seem genuinely pleased and quite proud when one of our babies does something new!

I also can't imagine what it is like to have 2 small people - I can hardly cope with a 7mo who can't move anywhere - so respect to you justabout and boo to the snotty toddler group

Hooray for your ds theprecious - the question is, did you sleep soundly or did you wake in a panic wondering why he hadn't woken up? (not tried Campari - maybe I'll give it a whirl on my next night out ...... whenever that might be!).

twoplusone · 04/02/2008 20:31

Glad minimeep is back to her smily self..

meep · 04/02/2008 20:45

2+1 I didn't see your post before I posted - oh lordy - you must be a bundle of emotions! Maybe all that action is why you've lost so much weight . You sound like a lovely mum so I think you'd be fine with 4 - and you'll have us for support while DH is away

twoplusone · 04/02/2008 20:59

Thanks meep..

re weight loss.. just another 23kg to go..minimum.. off to watch some tv with dh now.. take care all.xx

Jennster · 04/02/2008 21:21

Re teething, Ashton and Parson's teething powders are quite good, especially if you're not keen on all the shite they stick in children's medicines. I'm not sure how much of it is me feeling better having given ds some, but they are really easy to dose, don't stain clothing, and are unlikely to send your lo loopy with e numbers. They do contain lactose for those on lactose free diets beware.

Justabout - sorry you had a crap time at M&T. Some people are so snotty. I obviously do a good impression of looking helpless (or they are just a nice bunch of mums and childminders). I go to one where dd is one of youngest there, but for the other babes in arms. She spent most of the session this afternoon sitting on other mum's laps 'sharing' the toys they were playing with their los. DS spent the whole time not sleeping and not sitting and being thoroughly needy. As for rolling and sitting who cares? Dd could sit early and could roll but didn't, and then could walk from 13 months, but didn't until nearer 16...all good the less mobile they are. Ds can't sit because he is too chunky, especially with cloth nappies.

pulapula · 04/02/2008 21:24

2+1, i saw your "broody" thread the other day - fingers crossed for weds. When i was pg with DS i had 2 -ve tests before i got my +ve.

Am i the only one who hasn't got any sex drive at the mo? Not sure if its due to tiredness or my minipill maybe?. DH is a very understanding man!

Jennster · 04/02/2008 21:26

Oh my 2+1. Good luck. Sounds like you have a good attitude towards it. DH and I were just thinking about should we or shouldn't we for number 3. Chance would be a fine thing. At least we don't have to share a bedroom anymore

Jennster · 04/02/2008 21:27

Pula BF and minipill both lower the libido loads. For sure.

pulapula · 04/02/2008 21:37

Thanks Jennster, Glad to know i'm not alone! I think we've decided to stop at 2 kids, but never say never! When i'm back at work next month, i might suddenly fancy another spell of mat leave!
