Thr rainforest is average food at an extortionate price csws, but it is a good experience for the kids! Alot of tourists who dont know the exchange rate too, I reckon. Put it like this; I went mad at dh for spending on that posh loo seat, but we spent the same on a meal for me and the boys , even with them sharing a main course. I knew it was expensive, but you know when you havent seen friends for ages, and it was such a good day, and I really wanted to round it off. But today I've got that feeling you get in your tummy when you regret something and feel terrible about it.

The total bill for 3 adults and 3 kids, with ds1 being the oldest (I didnt pay the whole bill I hasten to add...) Was £104

Hello Jas! Dont worry about the garage, you nutter. My concept of England above wher eI live is very warped thouhggh, I think. I think Herts must have a sticky-out bit I dont know about or something!

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 08:53

Could it be teeth bothering him Jas? We've had similar with dd the last couple of nights, but nurofen has helped. She didn't sleeep in any later for having a late night last night . She seems to be wanting lots of boo boo again too, so I guess it must be teeth. Am distracting her with tv for a bit at the moment to give me a break! Really must motivate myself to go and shower though, since we're supposed to be going to mrm's! I think you can rule out us arriving at 10 mrm!

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 08:56

That is a lot mrm. iirc it's about the same as we spent when we went to Giraffe after the eye, and there were what....4 adults and 8 children?

Flame · 11/11/2007 09:32

@ prices!!! (And £100 on a loo seat!?!? Is it gold plated?!)

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 09:42

Giraffe was £97.

Flame, you are a nutter and you dont read properly. Our loo seat was £34, which was the same as our part of the meal. The whole lot was £104 (friends spent £70 for 2 adults and a 2yrold). I'm gutted that you thought I'd spend £100 on a toilet seat Thought you knew I had more sense than that...

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 09:49

No need to imply that only nutters would spend £100 on a toilet seat you know .

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:00

Er, yes, there is a need!!!

Flame · 11/11/2007 10:02

lmao you had said that MrMRM had bought the toilet seat - I assumed he was the nutter

(And yes, you do CSWS )

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 10:06

[sticking tongue out]

Actually I don't know how much our seat cost, but I do know how much our whole toilet cost, and I think that that would qualify me (or dh, she says hopefully) as nutters.

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:06

He is a nutter. But he'd never spend that in a million years. This is the man who looked like the cat who got the cream bwecause he got 10 out of date cans of John Smiths from work last week!
God, thats more than I've spent on all the xmas pressies for everyone this year!

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 10:07

I am trying to leave the house btw mrm, but dd is now eating toast before she'll let me dress her, having emptied half a box of cereal over the kitchen floor first .

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:08

not knowimng how much toilets cost, I cant possibly comment

Er, as you're still on here csws, I assume you're not almost at our house?

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:08

Lol at that crossed post!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 10:08
Grin
Flame · 11/11/2007 10:09

Great crossed posts.

I'd love to spend a fortune on a toilet seat Do they make self cleaning ones? Or can I just pay a cleaner if I have oodles to spend on toilet seats?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 10:19

Toast is eaten. Clothes are on. Cereal has been swept up into a snack pot for dd to eat enroute .

See you soon!

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:24

Funnily enough flame, this one is easier to clean, as the lid just clips off, so you can get into all the nooks and crannies of the hinge. before, dh used to unscrew it every time

Frizbe · 11/11/2007 10:31

and half way through the photos of Uni's show, stuffing msn decided to close but I'm back now, lord knows what that was about? Uni they're fantastic photos, your coloured lighting does indeed work well I want to come and see the show next year now looks fab, one of Devons best kept secrets.

Ouch at Rainforest cafe costs I don't know how you lot manage to live with London prices......

CSWS sounds like a lovely swim dd2 is even after all her swimming 'lessons' only just getting into floating around on her own over one of those batton things, she's a bit better with the arm floats, but the instructor likes the batton things, I guess it gets them into more of a flat position if they play ball? which dd2 usually doesn't

Just about to drag the kids to McArthur Glen outlet here, as I need a new swimsuit! as per friday and I think they have a speedo shop there, so I may stand a chance of finding one in stock.
Have developed some odd pustulent spots on two of my fingers though have tried looking up on nhs direct as dh has one also (hf and m?) but signs point more to this:

Acropustulosis - this causes pustules to appear on your fingers and toes. The pustules then burst leaving bright red areas that may ooze or become scaly. These may lead to painful nail deformities. Oh nice..... nothing anywhere near my nails though, thankfully. But have put some cream I got for that random rash I got from that shirt the other month on, and put bandages over and taken an anti histimene.....see if I can't get rid of whatever it is myself, without bothering the doc!

Self diagnosis eh.....

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 10:34

Not everything in London is that price! Central is worse, obviuosly, but that is exceptionally ridiculous. Here's ok; there's a few workman's cafes that the boys like , and our coffee shop is only 90pfor a croissant (ds1's treat of choice when he's asked what he'd like to do as a reward for something!)

Frizbe · 11/11/2007 10:36

Good job I guess MRM but it is a shocker when you try to have a nice day out innit?

Chloe55 · 11/11/2007 12:02

Hiya,

Just a quickie as have a friend arriving any minute.

My quick update - went out Fri night and threw up 4 times outside the club - felt like I was about 15 again!!! I am NEVER EVER sick, Dh has been calling me an embarrassment all day!!

Oh btw Jofan, fab name your ds has got

UniS · 11/11/2007 14:48

MRM & flame- sorry for mix up, I was trying to remember what I'd read half a millon posts below.
Just made biscuits with boy- hurrah, was success, now we can do home made bisucuits for all teh grannies for christmas. Boy liked squishing the balls of dough flat and then adding a pattern with a fork. I've started him on making christmas cards too. fills the odd "bored" slot with glueing and sticking.
lord MAyors show- i lived in london 19 years and never went! some of my unicycling friends have riden in it tho.
pricey meals out- yes its bit steep eatin in central london, but so is eating at a motorway service station , hoepfully your food at teh rainforest tasted better and teh decor was nicer.

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 15:59

Decor was much nicer, but the food prob wasnt much better TBH!

No unicyclers this year. Ds1 liked the giant inflatable caravan best

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/11/2007 16:08

Back home. Thanks for a lovely relaxing afternoon mrm. That place is great!
DD fell asleep eating her kebab on the way home, and is now snoozing nicely in the car whilst I grab 5 mins on here.

Chloe - definitely drunk throwing up, or possibly pregnant throwing up? Can't remember where in your cycle you are at the moment.

May I just report, for those that remember the conversation, that mrm's scissor carousel is really quite something!

mustrunmore · 11/11/2007 16:16

Ha! I knew you'd come round to my way of thinking about scissors

While you're on here csws, how far from Northampton itself is Kettering?

I had a lovely day too. Ds2 went into total meltdown when I tried to do his nappy, and crawled screaming under the chair. Put him in the cot crying, but he was asleep within 20 seconds!
