Arse - forgot to boldify JoFan!

Merged title suggestions

Will now catch up on what I missed on the other one...

OP posts:
Flame · 09/11/2007 10:59

Attempted to catch up, but didn't really

JoFan - I'm 26, grew up in Bournemouth, both me and DH went to the Arts Institute too - he did modelmaking, and I did the first year of an art course thingy, but then money ran out

Hurrah for cloth using - what do you use?

MRM - most definitely still ignoring you, but have no idea why

pmsl @ Fergie Frizbe

Erm... I have forgotten the rest

UniS - Long shot, but I don't suppose you know who did the pyros for the Blackheath fireworks this year?

OP posts:
damewashalot · 09/11/2007 11:32

Did I miss anything exciting??

Anyone pg? (i am still but need to get past 12wks I think before I can relax a little, but getting too fat for my jeans)

Oh yes and there seem to be people around here that I don't know so hello to you

You seem to be discussing ages and I would like to add that I am 33 the same as mrm and frizbe, no idea why I'm telling you that as didn't read much of old thread but never mind.

EachPeachPearMum · 09/11/2007 13:05

I do find it odd that so many of us are 33! Maybe it says a lot about mumsnet catchment....

And a big Yay! for 2 Oscars- I love the name, it just wouldn't go with our surname. There was an Oscar in our RL pn group too, though he was spelled Oska...

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2007 13:22

I'm sure you are the same age as me mrm . When are you 34?

Frizbe · 09/11/2007 15:26

CSWS! its a compliment me saying you're 33 then I'm 34 in July....

Jas, phew at least you have some money then, hope he gets something soon.

Flame, my own mother as well......

Dh is currently on school run from hell, has taken him 2 hrs here to Wakefield to get ds, he's only just made it in time bloody M1...

Phoenix, hope the filling went ok, are you still dribbling?

Frizbe · 09/11/2007 15:44

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2100/419884?ts=1194622990311&msgid=8532227 Chloe/Phoenix if you get a sec, could you read this thread and see if you can offer this person any help, she's in Wakefield and not having a good time of it, she needs a big hug.

UniS · 09/11/2007 15:59

sorry I missed the stats again.... if any one is interested its
Boy, birthday 10th March, born to UniS, DC1
I try not to use his given name on line.

need to go and wake him up now, hes ot an early bed time to come as Dh and I are going OUT- babay sitter arranged, dinner is picked and piad for already. Its teh Cricket club annual dinnner, should be a good laugh.

mustrunmore · 09/11/2007 17:28

Csws, I'm fairly sure i'm 33!! 34 in January. I must be 33, because I'm 9yrs younger than dh, and h reckons he's 42

JoFan · 09/11/2007 18:28

hello everyone

oh, now i'm officially not (quite) the oldest, and i was about to point out that there's many a good tune played on an old fiddle... to quote my gran

flame - did graphic design at college.
i use bambino mio prefolds with a nippa, and tots bamboozles. i love the convenience of the tots but find they are not as absorbent as the prefolds and take forever to line dry. suggestions?

there are some great baby names here; some really unusual ones too. love 'em!

mustrunmore - love the way you have to do subtraction to calculate your own age!

well, it's curry and chocolate night in the Fan household. catch you all later...

Flame · 09/11/2007 18:48

You find prefolds more absorbant than bamboo? Really?

You'd like the berry plush, poppered in prefolds

OP posts:
JoFan · 09/11/2007 18:56

my prefolds are ancient and have been washed thousands of times! they could dehumidify a room, they are that absorbant!

have heard others talk about berry plush. more details please...

am really off for curry now...

Flame · 09/11/2007 18:58

I went out at 12.30... DS was asleep.

Only just back now - HE HASN'T HAD ANY LUNCH!!!!

I know DH isn't feeling well, but how can you forget to feed a toddler f*cking lunch?!!?!?

Berry Plush

They are soft velvety stuff with hemp prefolds inside - goooooooooooorgeous

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2007 19:32

Flame is very persuasive Jo, so you may as well give in now! I've got one on order at the moment, and I haven't used my reusables consistently for aaaaages!

mrm - we are the same age more of the time than we aren't. We just happen to be in the 'aren't' bit at the moment .

Did dh at least give him a snack flame? I guess he's eaten a good tea if not!

Well we went to see the extension people this afternoon, who have managed to design something not really meeting our requirements, and the cost has gone up from their initial estimate which included a huge conservatory, resurfacing the drive and doing garden fencing, to about £10k more excluding the conservatory, driveway and fencing . We've told them to try again, and after discussion with the director too, have changed our requirements a bit, so we'll see what they can come up in the next two weeks. We now have a loft conversion as part of the plan, but dh has just realised that they plan to put the stairs going up where the ruddy great lintel that is holding the house up is .

mustrunmore · 09/11/2007 19:43

A vertical lintel? May I suggest a spiral staricase around it?! And may I suggest getting me to design your extension for you?!

Well, we have heating and hot water again, so have had baths!! Its not fixed (part still coimng on Mon), but its back the the state of broken it as in before Britisg Gas man knackered it yesterday Mind you, they said they were coming 8-1 (even at 12 when we called again), but at 1pm when we called, they said there was a problem and no one had been told you come So someone eventually turned up at 3.30pm. Thankfully dh was off today, so he could stay in waiting.

Flame · 09/11/2007 19:47

Oooh spiral staircase sounds pretty

Yay for fresh smelling MRM but argh for them not coming.

No snacks, no nothing - the child hadn't eaten since 7am He did eat a very big dinner though!

CSWS - I sent you the standard very impersonal email to say your nappies have been posted

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2007 19:56

No, not a vertical lintel! Why would I get you to design my extension? You're not qualified in that sort of thing are you?!

Got the email thanks flame .

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2007 20:07

Don't suppose anyone can help with this?

Flame · 09/11/2007 20:23

Why wouldn't you get her to design your extension? Hmmmmmmmmmmm? Are you doubting her abilities?

After she had a bath for you and everything...

Replied with a Very Helpful reply btw

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 09/11/2007 20:39

Of course I'm not in the slighest bit qualified. But I'm very nosy, and, as such, am very good at seeing how other people should have their houses

Would have to agree with flame; Memphis really isnt in Australia. Although there probably is one there actually.

EachPeachPearMum · 09/11/2007 20:40

Yay for mrm's hot water.... lovely

Dh is also thinking of Oz at the moment- are there many IT opportunities?

Frizbe · 09/11/2007 21:06

Actually I did talk to my teacher friend about Aus the other day CSWS, and he said there is a shortage of Catholics there at the mo, so if you're looking to go perm, then that will help you get in

Mmmmmm curry, haven't had one of those for a while, dh doesn't really do them but I do have some choc covered popcorn from M&S to go and scoff

Todays lesson ladies, is not to attempt aqua aerobics in one of those bikini tops that had a midriff bit that's supposed to hide your flab my cossie had died a death (cheap £5 one from Asda) so I thought this old thing will do apparently not, if its not floating around your ears, your boobs are trying to escape

Frizbe · 09/11/2007 21:07

MRM yay for hot water

Flame · 09/11/2007 21:08

How bizarre - selecting immigrants because they are catholic?!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 09/11/2007 21:11

Ha ha. I might end up having a thread asking which we should choose out of Memphis, Sydney or Dublin/UK soon!

No idea about opportunities in IT generally EPPM, but the company that dh has been contracting for (for 7 years so far) are going to do an 'Asia Pacific' roll out of the project that he has been working on for Europe, and the big boss man likes him, so would undoubtedly find him a role if he asked for one (and his best friend/colleague/flatmate is going there in a couple of months to work on it too). The Memphis job is for the Latin American roll out of the same project.
