Hats off to Mr CSWS.

Toddle group party this morning- chaos, next year we need to go somewhere bigger. Our crew are geting to big for the play cafe on masse. Usuall round of screaming abdabs over shoes off rules, tussles over soft blocks, fights at top of slide and at bottom in ball pit, babay sisters getting buried in ball pit, big sisters buring themslves in ball pit and bumped heads.
My secret santa got us just right- red wine for me, thomas train jigsaw for Boy. Thank you whoever you were.
Working from tomorrow for 11 days so won't be on here much. Hope you all have a good christmas run up and don't get toooooo stressed.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/12/2007 20:23

LOL, thought I'd been a little harsh there myself, when I read it through this evening, sorry!
...but if you admit it yourself....

Glad the builders are getting on with it though. (I take it no chance of being done by christmas/new year? It sounded like a major undertaking)

I am always amazed how when I feed/bathe/entertain dd it takes 100% of my concentration, yet when dh does it, he can manage to check his email/read the paper/Private Eye/listen really LISTEN to the radio etc!

Maybe thats why much of the time, if we're both around dd says 'No Papa. Mama'....

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 07/12/2007 21:02

Flame, he doesnt see me as a 12, he's just totally clueless

Er, csws, will there be a big hole in your house over xmas, or will it all be done? Getting worried about drafts

CantSleighWontSleigh · 07/12/2007 21:07

We are water and airtight mrm! We even have lights in the new utility now, even if some of them are hanging down from a non-existent ceiling . Apparently we will have a floor, but it might not be tiled. We should even have plaster on the walls - yay! New doorway won't be done until late Jan though (having a sliding pocket door which has to come from Italy due to the size we want).

CantSleighWontSleigh · 07/12/2007 21:59

Oh my, aren't these just gorgeous!
What age is right to buy girls pretty musical jewellery boxes, if you want to get in early enough that they don't already have one, but not so early that it's inappropriate?

Frizbe · 07/12/2007 22:26

They're a bit ott for my taste CSWS
Well done on the building work cracking on

Jas, yay for your dh too

Uni, try to have a good 11 days at work then!

EPPM shop is good thanks, although I appear to have my 1st stalker.....seems harmless enough, but had a chap in this afternoon, who hung around chatting for half hour, before he told me he thought I was gorgous and I reminded him I'm married..... geeks eh!

also friggin boiler has broken tonight no heat or hot water till monday then, at a minimum, bar the shower heating its own water.....great, and snow forecast too so that's 2nd time in 2 years its packed up and its only 6 friggin years old

EachPeachPearMum · 07/12/2007 22:53

Friz- for boiler- its freezing here tonight , so hope you're all ok

though for the stalker- always nice when other people think we're attractive! (though of course, not if he turns into a real stalker IYSWIM)

Frizbe · 07/12/2007 22:58

EPPM know what you mean, I hope he doesn't! dh is in shop next week, so should throw him off scent for a bit, I have the joys of attempting xmas shopping, now with even less credit due to boiler and the year end on the accounts to get sorted not looking forward to it at all, might just go and hide in starbucks instead.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/12/2007 23:12

at this time of night?
or do you mean tomorrow?

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 08/12/2007 16:39

They're a bit eeek csws! Not having any experience of girls, I 'd say about aged 6? Then they're old enough not to lob them around, but other people may not think of giving them. Does that fit in with whoever you're considering one for?!

Flame, I got a looveellyy zip up hoody in the Asda sale today (wel,, my Mum bought it me). Very mika-esque! Wish I'd had it when I saw him! Not as you as the skulls ones though. So now I have something I wish I'd worn to Mika, and something I wish I'd worn to the mn do Ooo, and my Mum's neighbout passed on a loevly top to me, so I've had a great day today!

Also got ds2 a hooded fleece with bones on etc, and a skull on the hood.... £1.50 in th sale!!!!!!! Ds1 got a superman t shirt.

Frizbe · 08/12/2007 19:27

MRM hurrah for the tops

Anyone hazard a guess as to which child I have standing outside my bedroom door yelling mummmmmyyyyyyy, when I've just put her to bed, sigh.......

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 08/12/2007 19:35

We have ds1 still up, but he's with Granny doing Chicken Licken stickers I've decided I want to move the bookcase 4 inches to the right, so dh isnt impressed. It means taking off all the books, plus the secret cupboard bit is full of dvds/lps/big boxes of photos

Frizbe · 08/12/2007 19:42

well they do say a few inches makes a difference

dd2 is now back in bed, twice so far, dd1 is watching Robin Hood with dh and ss, I'm avoiding the ironing which dh should be doing.....

WeFrizYouaMerryChristmas · 08/12/2007 19:55

so heres my highly uninspired xmas name. Where is everyone tonight....off to facebook for a bit me thinks.

CantSleighWontSleigh · 08/12/2007 20:00

I'm here at the mo, but will be off to put dd to bed soon.

Does no-one like my carousels?

I don't have anyone in particular in mind for a musical jewellery box mrm - I just want to buy lots of them for every girl I know, but have no idea which would appreciate! Will have to wait for next year anyway, as think I only have one 10 year old girl left to buy for (though need to check).

Dh was tasked only with buying 2 presents this year - meccano for 2 brothers. He ordered two sets, both of which arrived this week, and when he opened them he realised that he has ordered the same set twice . Can we have a muppet icon?

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 08/12/2007 20:02

lol @ the meccano

Yay for tops too late MRM

I am keeping a silent response to the carousels

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 08/12/2007 20:03

I keep getting "Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! FlameBoy's in my bed again!!!"

He keeps getting up and snuggling down innto the duvet by her feet. She's not havin any of it.

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 08/12/2007 21:10

You know the music boxes I like? have you seen those wooden ones (wood csws) with 2 little magnetic figues? You wind it up and they dance round on the flat surface on top, but they're not attached IYSWIM. Er, hope someone knows waht I mean...

Well, a few inches hs turned inot a few feet Decided to go for big rearrange. So shoved the whle bookacse to the opposite end of the fronyt room wall(at the end of the treadmill, for those in the know). Have even created a potential space for a xmas tree sgould we be brave ebough to put it up with ds2 around.

Flame, we know that hatred of bed sharing well, usually aqbout 5am when ds2 attempts to get in with ds1 and climb over him to switch the little light on first!

at doulbe meccano. Can it be exchanged?

CantSleighWontSleigh · 08/12/2007 21:55

Will keep meccano for boy who will be 8 next year, and try to think of equivalent for his twin sister .

I know the ones you mean mrm, but only because I saw them last weekend, with little ducks on.

I like those ones because dd loves horses, and as a child I used to love going on the carousel. Only wish the horses went up and down on those ones too!

Have just been writing Christmas cards. dh managed to address most of family's envelopes upside down - I still need that muppet icon!

mustrunmorewantsanewname · 08/12/2007 22:13

At least he writes th envelopes. Dh will just about do the card for his Mum and for his 5 siblings, as long as he can stick to 'to.... happy xmas...from....' He'd never writ his own envelopes! Actually, I tell a lie , I think hwe did 2 his year because I putthe adress book on front of him open at the right page. Else I gt 'whats my sisters surname again?'

CantSleighWontSleigh · 08/12/2007 22:18

Umm. Not exactly. I always ended up doing everything, so I now have a database of addresses, and printed out labels, so all he had to do was stick the label on. We've also gone this year for printing who the cards are from, so all we have to do is write the 'to' bit .

PhoeNixYouAMerryChristmas · 08/12/2007 22:22

Mrm - Our christmas tree's been up for a while now and ds doesn't really touch it. He occasionally walks past it and punches a bauble as he goes but he isn't bad at all which has really surprised me.

We should really push MNHQ for a muppet emotion My dh hasn't had anything to do with writing any cards or wrapping any presents so at least MrCsws tried

at Flame Boy snuggling into bed with B.

Dh has buggered off upstairs to watch boxing.
