I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

LittleMissNorty · 14/10/2007 12:06

Hiya all....peaceful in this house...baby Norty Fast asleep....had a little teeny bit of baby rice with her lunchtime feed....all came out of her mouth again...but she was intrigued I think!

Daisy...don't do ferry's [puke]....went over on Le Shuttle at 6am and yes blardy full of England supporters...DH sat in the car with his Scotland shirt proudly displayed ...spent a fortune on booze....so next time you run out ladies.....round here

LittleMissNorty · 14/10/2007 12:10

Blimey Daisy...they are SO alike...love the Xmas outfit.....6 months is a nice age to be for 1st Xmas don't you think?

riabutterflew · 14/10/2007 12:18

hi. bloody server went down last night so I disappeared. I HATE shoes, and usually wear mens lace up boots. I need a new look, but I need to lose 4 stone first.

SW is good, I think I lost about a stone before I got bored. basically there is a list of free food for every day - fruit, veg and cheese triangles and quorn. on green days you measure meat/cereal/bread but have unlimited pasta/rice/potatoes. on red/original you measure cereal/pasta/bread/potatoes/pulses and have unlimited meat/fish. you also get 15 syns a day to use on things that aren't free ie, chocolate. I think I scanned all my stuff onto disc when I lent it to my sis, if I can work out how to do it I can send you a copy foxy. it's a bit of a faff in that you have to cook nearly everything.

right caught up. I noticed MN crashing last night too maybe HQ just needed a break from us all
Daisy - the photos are really lovely, my 3 are really alike as well, it's cute isn't it.
i'm currently doing WW (started on monday) i like it cause i can eat whatever i want - i'm a bit fussy with food so it suits me.
Also on the clothes thing - i totally agree that how you dress = how you feel
As with shoes i have made sure from about the age of 20ish that if there EVER were to be a worldwide shoe shortage that i wouldn't get caught out!! - oh no i'm prepared with my shoe collection, i'll be OK > Derlor's moto: always but shoes whenever you can cause you never know when you will get the chance again!
right now i've clearly flipped my lid, i'm off to make lunch for myself and several children..

LittleMissNorty · 14/10/2007 12:46

Last time I done SW (about 9 years ago) I used to buy huge bags of the treat size chocolates and have one very evening with a cup of coffee...mmmmm...I'm not sure I could be so disciplined now not to eat them all

What is it you've got on disc Ria? There was no internet last time I done SW...well almost

There is a SW thread on here as well which looks good for motivation which I will join when I've started....gotta eat all the goodies crap in the house first

upsyderlor · 14/10/2007 12:55

thanks MHC, my aunt lives in Perth actually so i might just send her on a little task....
it's a bloody nightmare around here they are sold out everywhere, can't get one online anywhere either
(except ebay for double the price but we're not that desparate....yet)
i need to go food shopping today [fed up emoticon] but PIL's coming shortly to take dd1 and ds out for the afternoon ......every cloud

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 13:07

Just bought some of the bumhugger nappies recommended by Daisy. Only 2 for now, will theen get more if they're as good as we're hoping for.

Just been playing with DD's new toy we bought her yesterday, a cow activity thing. She seems to have learnt very quickly that if you press the buttons then it makes noises and lights up and has started pressing some of the buttons herself (But will I still be smiling when she makes the cow moo, or play the tune to do-re-mi for the squillionth time?)

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 13:21

Will you be getting one of these Daisy?

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 14:38

Gosh this going natural malarky is expensive isn't it? I've bought shampoo & conditioner, soap, crystal deodorant & laundry liquid. To be fair i bought a massive bottle of laundry stuff alleging to do 110 washes for £14!

didn't buy any make up though. MHC do you have any particular recommendations?

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 15:34

I know what you mean Bumper. I was recently looking at the natural collection site (currently giving 10% off to MNers!) and while I did buy a few things for Xmas presents, I was a bit at the total £ in my basket with some make up and stuff for me. I realise that it's worth paying for good stuff, but just couldn't stomach buying it all at once. In particular, I've avoided nail varnish for ages, because of the chemicals in it and particularly the remover, so was excited when I saw this and the matching nail varnishs. But then I saw the price £10.95 for nail polish remover!! So for now at least I continue to have bare nails.

Just heard that a friend had a baby boy a week ago, a wee 5lb odd. Just been looking at newborn clothes, oh so cute!!

frumpyflabbyfurryfarfromfoxy · 14/10/2007 16:08

oh its all getting to much... if I hear Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum one more bloody time

AAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHh

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 16:13

change that name now foxy! you won't make yourself feel any better. How about toogorgeoustoobetruefoxy?

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 16:14

Ok, i've got some beef to make beef stew, only i'm not really sure how to make a stew . Any tips?

riabutterflew · 14/10/2007 16:23

hi bumper - you still stuck?

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 16:24

I normally start with browning some onions and the meat, with maybe a bit of flour. Then add other veg, herbs, and stock and leave to simmer.

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 16:24

And maybe add some dumplings towards the end (I make according to the instructions on the suet packet)

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 16:27

would I put parsnips & potatoes in it? how long to simmer?

riabutterflew · 14/10/2007 16:31

i had beef stew at my mums today. it's the best ever (even better than DHs - sshhhh)

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 16:33

I wish my mum cooked! she prefers kfc or mcdonalds

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 16:36

Parsnips and spuds should be yummy. Or carrots. I'd probably say an hour or 2?

riabutterflew · 14/10/2007 16:36

so do i bumper, much less stressful!

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 16:39

cheers girls. i'll just kinda make it up as i go along. going to be a while as dd being a pain and dh not yet home from work!
