I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

Morning Fury, dh & i were doing weight watchers. it works i think but a faff to have to add up the points especially if you cook from scratch a lot, though foxy says if you join online they have a calculator there, but you still have to weigh stuff.

Ria does SW I think. My dad also did it and it really worked for him.

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 08:42

The sleeping through lasted all of one night! fed at 8, bed by 9, wake up again 4.30 then 7! I'm going to persevere though!

HellHathNoFury · 14/10/2007 08:46

Morning Bumper!
Yes we were 8.30 - 5.30 today. Poor DH is shattered, he let me lie in til 8!

udderleyfoxy · 14/10/2007 08:50

Morning!

Fury - I'm a fan of WW, you can do points or the 'core plan' which isn't counting but a list of food you can eat freely from (plus a limited number of points for treats. Like bread ). I've had a look at SW but cant work out how i can get chocolate in there.

I've totally fallen off the WW wagon and have just been told my meeting is closing too, so I'm buggered now.

The monthly pass is £17.95 and gives you unlimited access to meetings and the website, which is great for tracking your food.

Bumper - now you know she can do it, there is hope! Sorry to hear last night wasn't as good, but it will come. I was in two minds as to whether to wake lo up as she went to bed late, in the end I fed her at about midnight and she went through to 7.45. Normally I'll wake her at 10/10.30. I can't be doing with those ungodly waking times.

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 08:56

fury, do you want me to send you the books to have a look at? DH is going to go back on it soon, and i will eventually but you can give it a go for a week to see if it suits you.

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 09:04

Bumper, that sleeping sounds similar to what my LO does. We got one wake up most nights, someime between 3 and 6, then back to bed until 7 or 8. The average wake up time is creeping later though, so there is hope that it'll end up sleeping right through. Occasionally she'll wake twice in the night eg 2 and 5 which is a massive pain because I'm not used to it. So keep at it and see if you can beat me to regular sleep throughs.

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 09:18

MJ she was sleeping 11-7 when we were waking her up for a feed so the dilemma is do we go back to waking her up or keep trying with the earlier nights? There's no answer really except to just try it.

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 09:27

Guess it depends on how the rest of your life/evening runs Bumper. It's important to us to have some evening time together, so DD goes to bed about 7, aslepp by 7.30 or 7.45. But as I go to bed between 9.30 and 10 (has crept later from between 9.15 and 9.30) I'm not waking myself to wake her for a feed at 11, so we're going with letting her wake in the early hours and hope that eventually she'll sleep right through. We have had a couple of nights 7.30 - 6.00 so it is coming, I'm sure

LittleMissNorty · 14/10/2007 09:35

Fury...I'm about to start SW and find it great....I lost 3st on it a few years ago....its also good for blokes with big appetites as there are free foods which they can eat as much as they want of...I usually have a HUGE fruit salad in the fridge which we can dig into when we've got the munchies and chuck a yogurt over the top and it doesn't count towards any points. Can also eat eggs freely.

SW do a magazine so can get some ideas of menus and how it works (bascially separates carbs and protein), I've just got this months to try and motivate myself!

Bumper....persevere...she will get there....get as much food down her as you can during the day...my DD never cries for food....but when I give it to her, she's always ready and guzzles!

IamDaisy · 14/10/2007 09:48

morning...bumper if it's any consolation babyboo was up at 3am for a quick feed then back to bed till 7. I do these night feeds with the light off now and she seems to go back to sleep quicker and I doze through it.

I tried to load some pics of DSs in his Christmas outfit last night, it took blardy ages then just as I hit save all went tits up...so no photos saved. I'll try again now.

You'll see just how alike he and DD are.

bumper...the shoes are fab. Not sure they would go with my new uniform of jeans/combats, t-shirt and fleece jumper though!

maybe I should start wearing my smart clothes again to try and cheer myself up a bit. I'm going to get some new knickers as well as I'm still in the saggy baggy cumfies I've been wearing since I got pregnant.

Had a horrible dream last night that I did a pg test and it was positive and had a nightmare trying to tell DH, and my boss refused to pay me materntity pay and was getting stroppy about my two years out!

LMN...forgot to ask how your trip went...was the ferry not full of rugby supporters?

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 10:04

daisy, I'm still in the cheapo knickers that I bought for after the birth and cheapo primark ones. I do find dressing well makes me feel better, and sometimes I put stuff on and think god am I going to look over dressed wearing this to go into town? Then think sod it, just wer it with confidence and people will think you dress that way all the time. Then I walk home and think why did I wear these shoes?! Do treat yourself to something nice to wear, it makes all the difference.

I'm going to go the the natural grocery store to check out their natural beauty and cleaning products. I'm feeling a bit yuck about all the chemical in what I use. I love Neal's Yard products and feel very virtuous but then ruin if with my chemical laden but gorgeous Benefit make up and shampoos etc.

udderleyfoxy · 14/10/2007 10:20

so true about what you wear making a difference (especially some lovely shoes Bumper!) Luckily my pc kept crashing last night so I lost all the stuff I put in my Office basket (how many pairs of leopard print shoes do I really need anyway?) They do have a good sale on.

So, I know the basics of SW (green/red days) but how do I get chocolate and cakes in? I might have to switch from WW. And I can't give up chocolate. Wine is one thing, but chocolate?

udderleyfoxy · 14/10/2007 10:28

Bumper, do Office shoes come up big or small? I'm about a 6.5 - I have a pair of Office boots in a 7 which are a bit big - how are their shoes, and are they narrow?

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 10:32

i don't know foxy, i'm usually more of a new look shoe girl myself

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 10:34

Agree about what you wear. I particularly make sure that I'm dressed more smartly and wearing a little make up when I go to get a haircut, as I find I get much better cuts that way. I think it they think you don't care about your appearnace they don't make such an effort.

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 10:41

never thought of that jammy. i get a bonus this month (the civil service way of saying sorry we don't pay you more money!) and though most of it will be going on debts i'm thinking of keeping some aside and going and getting a really expensive cut and coloured. I've never had my hair professionally coloured before. i'm tempted to go blonde. i've never been blonde!

oooh Bumper, I was just thinking about blonde this morning as well! Probably won't do it, think will be red next. Was a lovely red a while back, and did love it. Have been natural brown/grey for ages, but thought i might go bright again for the winter - and use the chance to get away with anything while sill on ML

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 10:51

mhc, funny you should say that as i was about to toddle on down to this shop and lavera seems to be the brand they stock, was just checking out reviews.

milkyJammy · 14/10/2007 10:53

I hate buying shoes. I am at least an H on the clarks scale, so find it really hard to get nice shoes to fit. I'm only a 5.5 length wise but if buying normal shoes normally need a 7 or sometimes even an 8. If I get Clarks kids shoes can get away with a 6.5H, but that really limits the choice

Bumperlicious · 14/10/2007 11:03

I just buy cheap shoes that don't fit properly and have terrible feet and bad knees

Right off to do some natural lentle weaver shopping!
