I think all that talk of superheroes made us all a bit feisty

OP posts:

gutted blondie, have you tried ringing them, or the venue? what can you do if they are bogus?

bumperlicious · 13/10/2007 10:58

sorry to call you that, was too lazy to type in full, i'll stick to BNM, actually that's easy, those keys are next to each other!

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:04

I have had an email from tickettout.org which is a site set up against this kind of thing, and they say that as I have paid by cc I can claim it back. But I still am gutted as you say, DH in particular - he really really wants to go. Will have to wait to see if the tickets actually turn up first, though I have done some research and found a lot of worrying stuff and the websit I have bought from

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:06

Don't worry about shortening my new name I am going to change it again when I can think of something suitable.>

Elsbells · 13/10/2007 11:12

Oh Delor, I was NOT a pretty site at this step class. I do think I am a pretty good mover most of the time (ok ok after many drinks I THINK I am the greatest dancer) but I was all over the place. May stick to walking my DC's to the park.

Blonde that sux re your gig tickets. IT would have been a really good night out too.

Now better get home.
Using the gym for MN does seem wrong.

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:13

You pay your membership don't you Els? Why not? Am impressed tho step - and quite used to really enjoy it too.

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:15

Right, changing the beds and cleaning bathroom etc, we have babysitter coming tonight and don't want her thinking what a sloppy madam I am

Elsbells · 13/10/2007 11:15

oh blonde
to wean or not to wean?

I weaned DS at 4months, he stopped BF, was taking any more bottles but was hungry so it seemed "right" to do.

With DD I am all confused again. Just been reading about BLW but confused. DD isn't taking much more milk (and I refuse to force feed her Claire Verity style) so if she starts showing signs of hunger but doesn't want milk then I will prob start. If not I will leave it.

Bye for now everyone

Elsbells · 13/10/2007 11:16

meant to say he was NOT taking any more bottles

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:18

Just the same here Els - DD I started weaning at 15 weeks and 4 days - no problems. So they changed it a couple of months later - but hey I've just decided that if it was good enough for DD etc - also DS has cut down feeding gaps - from 4 hours to 3 hours

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:20

Perhaps boys are hungrier IYSWIM - DS actually grabs my hand and pulls the spoon to his mouth! Also I keep thinking - well he is 18lbs (and DD wasn't that until well over 6 months)

upsyderlor · 13/10/2007 11:20

Yup i weaned my other 2 at 17/18 weeksish and they are both still alive!!!
i have chosen to try and wait till 6 months this time though because i want to try baby lead weaning.
used to be advised to wean at 4 months, then 4-6 months now "experts" say 6 months it's difficult when the goal posts keep getting moved isn't it?

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:21

Should explain - 18lbs - he must need more to sustain that weight if that makes sense or am I talking arse?

upsyderlor · 13/10/2007 11:22

talking of which it's feeding time again in this zoo!!!.... back later x

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:22

I would also say that I admire anyone that can wait that long, maybe I'm just impatient.

udderleyfoxy · 13/10/2007 11:22

Welcome back BNM! lovely to have you back, you've been missed, you know!

And well done all the sleeping babies! Yay! We might start feeling 'normal' soon

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:22

Good point Derlor - need to sterilise some bottles see you later xx

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:24

Nice name Foxy and thanks I have missed you guys but just feel like I've been in a flat spin!

BTW what is 'normal'? I was never normal!

Blondenomore · 13/10/2007 11:24

Really am going now xx

udderleyfoxy · 13/10/2007 11:25

Derlor, in your capacity as HV, can you PLEASE explain to me how it is I am losing so much hair from my head, yet it appears to be growing abundantly on my upper lip

udderleyfoxy · 13/10/2007 11:26

I use the term 'normal' loosely [sp?]

upsyderlor · 13/10/2007 11:55

foxy PMSL at you lip hair sorry!!
it's all down to hormones i'm afraid. It is quite common for women to experience some hair loss approximately 3-4 months after childbirth. It is triggered by the sudden changes in hormone levels, and happens to about 1/2 of us i'm afraid (Derlor scratches head and a big chunk of hair comes away....again!!) It should be back to normal in about 6 months or so! Danfruff is also very common around now
the lip hair puzzles me - as it would be caused by a surge in tertosterone (male hormone) i'll do a bit of research on this one and get back to you x

upsyderlor · 13/10/2007 12:02

this is interesting....."I have facial hair, especially above my upper lip. What causes this?
This is a condition called "hirsutism" (defined as excessive growth of facial and body hair). It indicates that there is a hormone imbalance between estrogen, testosterone (the dominant male hormone), and progesterone. Progesterone acts as a regulator for the entire endocrine system. A woman who has the hirsute problem probably has PMS, too." bugger! - have you got PMS???
this is interesting too think this explains it better?

upsyderlor · 13/10/2007 12:19

BW Foxy, meant to congratulate you an your achievement last night, feels great when you are all organised and can have some me time huh?

milkyJammy · 13/10/2007 13:15

Re dandruff - I was shaking my head over DD's head the other day so my hair hung down towatds her face and she could play with it, and then I noticed she was getting showered in dandruff Decided it was time to change my shampoo.
