Still waiting for my little man to arrive but starting a thread ready. Can't wait to catch up with all the other May 20 mums.

Huge congratulations to those who have already met their little ones. It's been quite a scary time to face giving birth recently and you've all done amazingly.

@sao81 how is your PGP/SPD? Mine seemed to ease loads in the last few weeks of pregnancy- I don't know if it was because she had moved positions. I don't have any issues with it at all now which I'm relieved about!! Xxx

sao81 · 17/05/2020 13:32

@May2311 I managed a 10 minute walk today for the first time in 4 months! Its as though its disappeared overnight its crazy, was yours the same?

Lu1u · 17/05/2020 13:34

@sao81 Lucas is gorgeous! Love the outfit, hopefully he will continue to be settled now you have sorted the teats. How much is he taking per feed? George is 5 days old now, he is having about 1.5-2 Oz of formula or expressed milk every 2 hours ish, it feels relentless but he seems content but no idea what's normal 🤷🏼‍♀️

sao81 · 17/05/2020 13:52

@Lu1u thank you! He was having 1oz every 2 to 3 hours at first and it was a struggle to get him to take it, but the last 24 hours hes having 2.5-3oz every 4 hours which is giving us a good chunk of sleep at night time. I think it all depends on their weight when born too!

May2311 · 17/05/2020 15:07

@sao81 yes! It really is bizarre how it disappears. People telling you that after the birth it will be different but you don't really believe it would happen so quickly lol.

Ada ( 2 weeks old) is having 3-4oz of formula every 4ish hours- she actually went 6 hours last night before stirring- I woke up in a right panic as she hadn't woken!! Xx

Hello all, congratulations on your babies Flowers I am currently feeding my 3 day old Oliver. He is perfect! I'm recovering well from my planned section.

mrsf1204 · 17/05/2020 18:48

Aww @Delbelleber I have a 2 week old Oliver!!!

Delbelleber · 17/05/2020 20:17

Congrats on your little Oliver Grin

november90 · 18/05/2020 06:14

Night 3...... wow 😰😰😰😰

I remember this from last time, up until nearly 3 am feeding none stop!! I thought it'd never end!!! How's sleep for everyone else?

@Delbelleber congratulations on lovely Oliver ❤️

Delbelleber · 18/05/2020 06:30

Morning! We've had a pretty good night. He's just fed and think he was feeding in the night once maybe twice. Pretty sure he's hiding a bit of glass in his mouth though! Need to work on the latch on my left side because it's painful, seems OK on the other side. Yesterday he was feeding lots and sleeping lots, he was a bit upset in the evening but he did a few poos and calmed down instantly.
Ive just realised something, we are expecting the mw today and she is doing the 5day heal prick test but he's only 4 days?! Same with my bandage, supposed to come off at day 5. Will see what she says later I suppose.

MarshmallowsOnToast · 18/05/2020 07:34

I know I shouldn't officially be here yet but looks like I've running out of time for spontaneous labour & i'm booked in to be induced tomorrow.

Hope you don't mind but I just wanted to ask if any of you ladies were induced and if you had any tips for what to take or what to do, please?

I know it might be a long slog so I have magazines and snacks in my bag but is there anything else you found helpful?

Thanks x

@MarshmallowsOnToast I took my ipad in so I could watch some stuff whilst I waited, and some colouring books. Niether got used though due to me reacting really quickly to the pessary! Good luck xx

november90 · 18/05/2020 10:43

@MarshmallowsOnToast take some sandwiches! My mum brought me a couple in and thank god!! Also some magazines/iPad to keep yourself distracted. Me and my mum did our online food shop, watched dumb and dumber and ate a lot of snacks 🙈

Delbelleber · 18/05/2020 10:46

@november90 lol at the online food shop

Lu1u · 18/05/2020 12:40

@Delbelleber congrats on Oliver, love his name 😍

@november90 god yes night 3 was the hardest so far, lots and lots of feeding like you say and George was unsettled in between. Last night was better though, still feeding lots but seemed more chilled.

Can't believe he is a week old tomorrow!
@MarshmallowsOnToast good luck for your induction tomorrow, we will be eagerly waiting for your news here. I was induced and agree with everyone else, iPad/tablet for watching some films and food/snacks so you don't eat what's in your bag for post birth! My induction started at 3pm and I spent the rest of the day chilling and resting through light contractions then managed to get about 7 hours of sleep on the ward before getting up and the contractions ramping up really quickly, so didn't really need much else ☺️

MarshmallowsOnToast · 18/05/2020 12:56

Thanks guys. That's really helpful.

Thank you for the well wishes too 🙂

On day 5 today, my boobs are aching, my moo is aching, my bum is aching and I've cried about 5 times already. Waiting for the midwife to come and do babies heel prick so will probably cry again 🙈 why did I forget how hard the recovery from childbirth is the first few days 😴

november90 · 18/05/2020 14:59

@sao81 oh bless you! I've been waiting to be discharged from hospital all day and I have only successful put Marley down twice in the past 24 hours! I feel your pain!!!! Have your feet swollen? My feet are absolutely huge! I actually cannot believe it!!!
Can't wait to get home for a shower 😩😩😩

november90 · 18/05/2020 16:02

So I'm just waiting to leave the hospital and now I just want to cry because everyone has been so lovely and I loved being pregnant so much 🙈😂

Delbelleber · 18/05/2020 17:10

We had the heal prick test today as well. He had to get pricked twice because the blood dried up. First time he screamed blue murder and I cried too and 2nd time he didn't even flinch! Also got weighed, lost 10oz since birth. He's been feeding so much I'm quite disappointed with this. Hopefully he will put some on by Wednesday when he gets weighed again.

Hope you are settling in at home now @november90

sao81 · 19/05/2020 01:20

@november90 my ankles have been so swollen! The midwife said its quite common due to fluid retention and should ease in a few days. How are you finding being at home?
@Delbelleber the heel prick is horrible isn't it, just seems so mean to do that to a little baby! Lucas has also lost some weight, 6oz I think? He gets weighed again next week too so hopefully they've both put their weight back on

Caspianberg · 19/05/2020 09:46

Our Baby is now 17 days old. He has re-gained all his birth weight, plus 300g! so now a bouncing 4.3kg! (9.5lbs).
He fed a grand total of 21 times in 24hrs yesterday as seems to only do short 5-10 min feeds at a time, with occasional longer feed. So yes, basically stuck to boobs all day, especially 4pm-9/10pm cluster feeding.

He did do a 5hr stretch sleep overnight though last night from 10pm-3am so dh and I are feeling more re-freshed after that. (slept 10-3am, 3-4am fed on and off, then he slept 4-6.30am again)

Delbelleber · 19/05/2020 13:19

Lots of feeding going on here, think that's my milk coming in properly now. Lots of sleeping and pooing as well Grin

Emmacb82 · 19/05/2020 16:05

Lots of feeding here too! Especially at night, it’s definitely true what they say about your hormones and milk production at night. Having Noah weighed tomorrow so looking forward to seeing how much he’s gained. It’s a difficult balance sometimes with pleasing the 4 year old and trying to juggle the baby but it’s going well so far.

november90 · 19/05/2020 21:17

Oh my goodness last night was a roughies! We were up every hour feeding.. and I really struggled to sleep in between! Feeling a bit nervous for tonight 😬

So so so in love with my little boy though. I feel like he looks right through me, his eyes are so gorgeous!

Fingers crossed for a good sleep tonight for us all ❤️
